---- Aaron glanced at her sideways-his eyes naturally drifting downward-and his lips quirked into a grin. "Oh yeah? Let me check tonight and see exactly where you gained it." Clara's face went hot. She wanted to slap him on the spot, but Leo was right behind them in his booster seat, so she glared instead. "Eyes on the road! Quit being a perv-Scarlett and Sierra are gonna be at the house soon!" Sierra had insisted on tagging along the moment she heard that Scarlett-the Scarlett, the actress-was visiting. Scarlett, being the easygoing social butterfly she was, had said, "Sure, bring her.
The more, the merrier." By the time they got here, Aaron had already showered and changed into a more casual outfit. Of course, Derek and Scarlett arrived early. Even before they stepped through the door, Derek's booming voice echoed from outside: "Where's my little Leo? Uncle brought you something awesome!" ---- Leo zoomed over, saw the life-sized Megatron toy, and gasped. "Whoa! It's Megatron! Thank you, Uncle Derek!!" Scarlett stepped inside with a smile. "Clara, your little guy's getting so big. And he's seriously adorable." Then she took a look at Clara and let out a theatrical groan.
"Ugh. You've had a kid, and your waist is still smaller than mine. Now I feel personally attacked." Derek reached over, grabbed Scarlett's waist, and gave it a squeeze. "It's plump and perfect-just the way I like it." Scarlett shot him a death glare and smacked him with her handbag. "Say that again?" Derek bolted, laughing like a maniac. "I swear, women are impossible! They call themselves gaining weight all day long-but if anyone else says it, it's World War III!" Scarlett stormed after him, heels clicking against the hardwood. "Excuse you?!

I'll have you know ---- the media says my figure is flawless! I'm practically Marilyn Monroe!" Derek ducked behind the couch, wheezing from laughter. "Yeah, yeah! But I've actually felt your body-the reporters haven't! Who are you gonna believe?!" Just then, Sierra walked in with Elsie and Austin. The three of them stopped dead in their tracks, staring at the chaotic scene unfolding in the living room. Sierra blinked. "So... this is my goddess in real life, huh." Derek smirked. "Yup. The gentle, refined Scarlett from TV?
Total fraud." Scarlett gave up on salvaging her image and went for the kill. She lunged over the couch, grabbed Derek by the ear, and growled, "You're so dead. Wait till we get home." Derek winced, trying to twist away. "Ow! Babe, come on! Not in front of the guests! I was just ---- messing around!" Then he lowered his voice and whispered something into her ear-something that made her entire face flush red. Scarlett glared at him, teeth clenched. "Why are you like this?! One day I really will kill you. But in truth, her anger had already melted.
It was impossible to stay mad at someone who knew exactly how to get under her skin-and exactly how to make her smile. Once the chaos settled, Matt brought in an extra chef to help prep dinner. Aunt Paige took the two smaller kids upstairs to play in Leo's room. The three men settled in the living room with some tea, while Clara, Scarlett, and Sierra headed upstairs to the rooftop terrace for a little girl time. That's when things took a turn. ---- Sierra turned to Scarlett with stars in her eyes. "You two are so in sync. Are you getting married soon?" Scarlett's smile faltered a little.
"Things have been... a little stuck. Career-wise. Relationship-wise too." Clara raised a brow. "I can't speak for your work, but relationship-wise? Derek looks at you like he wants to carry you off caveman-style." Scarlett let out a sigh. "I've tested him, believe me. Again and again. But he still hasn't proposed. I'm ready to settle down. He's just... dragging his feet." Sierra scoffed. "Girl, take it from me-marriage isn't all it's cracked up to be. Look at me: married young, divorced fast. What a joke." Scarlett smiled wryly. "Yeah, but I want a baby. I love kids." Sierra's eyes lit up.
"That's easy! You're talking to an expert here. I'll give you the real deal..." And with that, the gossip floodgates were wide ---- open. The rooftop filled with laughter, secrets, and just a touch of mischief-Like any good night should.
