---- Chapter 133: A Beautiful Light Show Greystone's biggest light show stretched along Riverside Avenue. The Glittering Starlight Hotel stood right on the avenue, and Aaron had reserved a private room on the second floor early that morning. When Sierra and Scarlett arrived, they practically circled Clara twice. "You three are way too stylish!" they exclaimed. Clara wore a flowing white gown embroidered with delicate flowers. Jade earrings and her hair tied neatly at the back added an extra touch of elegance. The dress highlighted her skin while keeping her look refined and graceful.
She looked flawless from head to toe. Aaron and Leo wore matching long tunics in soft, complementary tones. The fabrics draped beautifully, each with a jade ornament adding a touch of sophistication. They looked effortlessly elegant. Truly, some people could wear anything and still look incredible. Aaron looked like he had stepped straight ---- out of a romance novel, a noble gentleman come to life. Scarlett whipped out her phone and began snapping photos nonstop. "Your dress is gorgeous! I have to get one just like it!" Clara smiled. "Easy. I'll send you the store info.
It's custom-made, so it'll fit perfectly." "I want one too! I want one too!" Sierra shouted. "Too bad I can only wear it for a special occasion." Clara shrugged. "Not really. You can wear it whenever you want." Scarlett touched her slightly rounded belly. "I probably couldn't wear it anyway. Guess I'll just admire it." Derek patted her shoulder. "You can wear it after the baby is born. No rush." From the second-floor windows, the long street below twisted and stretched out of sight, glowing with countless lights of every color.
There were all kinds of stalls selling toys, handicrafts, and street food. It was a feast for the eyes and senses. Leo and Elsie immediately started begging to go down. and explore. Derek shook his head. "Clara's injured and Scarlett's ---- pregnant. If you get shoved around down there, it'll be a problem." Aaron looked at Clara, who clearly wanted to go. "Then just walk around a little on the lower level," he said. Austin added, "We're already here. Let's join the crowd for a bit. Just be careful." So the group descended together. Aaron's family immediately drew attention.

People couldn't help but sneak pictures. Scarlett, fully bundled and hiding her face, didn't dare walk with them. They finally regrouped at a small game booth where players had to answer riddles to win prizes. Leo and Elsie had been begging to play the riddle game for a while. Leo tugged Derek's sleeve. "Daddy, I want that Doraemon toy." "Don't worry, I've got this," Derek volunteered. To win, they had to solve five riddles. The first one stumped Derek immediately. "I speak without a mouth and hear without ears. I have no body, but I come alive with the wind." ---- Derek groaned. "Seriously?
Who makes riddles this hard? They clearly don't want anyone to win." Scarlett rolled her eyes. "Of course they do. They're running a business!" Aaron solved it almost instantly. "The answer is 'an echo." Clara gave him a thumbs-up. "Wow, impressive! I didn't even think of that." Austin squinted at the next riddle. "This one's perfect for two lawyers: I have keys but no locks. I have space but no rooms. You can enter, but you can't go inside. What am I?" Derek laughed awkwardly. "I really can't figure this one out." Scarlett glared at him.
"I'm really worried about my son's IQ." Derek tried to charm her. "Then you guess. Scientists say a child's intelligence comes from the mother." "I don't want to guess. Right now, I only care about food," Scarlett said, refusing to admit she couldn't solve it. After a moment of thought, Aaron said, "It should be 'a keyboard." ---- Derek, clearly annoyed, gave up. "This is a waste of time. I'll just buy the toys for you. Each kid gets one." Scarlett pouted. "If you can't solve it, you can't solve it.
Why say it's a waste of time?" Derek shouted, "I care about my pride too, you know!" Everyone burst out laughing. The crowd grew thicker, and soon they all returned to their private room to eat. Leo's new school term was coming up. Clara's family had moved back to Riverbend Villas. Her foot had mostly healed, and she was back at work. After the paternity test results, Sebastian sometimes came over for meals. Things between them were almost the same as before, and at least Clara no longer felt awkward. That day, as she was about to leave work, Xander came looking for her.
"I was looking for Master Lucian for a long time. I just found out he used to be your mentor." Clara nodded. "Yes. Lucian is older and no longer sees patients outside. If you need, you can bring them to his home. I can schedule an appointment for you." Xander shook his head. "Not convenient. The patient is elderly and bedridden." ---- "That's a pity," Clara said. "Lucian cannot travel easily." She didn't want to make things difficult for him. Xander's voice had a faint smile in it. "Then could you see this patient for me? Just as a favor." Clara replied, "No problem.
Send me the time and address." Xander asked, "Should I pick you up on Saturday?" Clara declined. "No, I can go myself." "Alright, see you Saturday then." Xander didn't push. On Saturday morning, Clara had Andy drive her to the address Xander gave her. It was a two-story small house in the old part of town. Xander waited at the door. Clara loved this style of house. Inside, a small garden welcomed guests with charm and character. The sun shone perfectly, highlighting roses and azaleas blooming in early spring, their colors radiant in the warming weather.
Under an old banyan tree, there was a dainty swing. It showed signs of age but had been well-preserved. The living room had wooden furniture and glass windows, a rarity these days. ---- Clara guessed, "The patient is elderly?" Xander nodded. "Yes. She's my great-aunt. She's over eighty." Clara followed him up the wooden staircase to the second floor. The room was bright and airy, free from the stale smell often found in long-term care homes. The patient sat on the bed with a cheerful smile. She was an elderly lady in her eighties, looking alert and lively.
She held out her hand for the maid, who carefully wiped it. "My dear great-aunt, I brought a doctor for you," Xander said. The elderly lady turned to him. "Xander! You came!" Then she shifted her gaze to Clara. After only a few seconds, her smile faded, her eyes closed slowly, and she leaned back on the bed, asleep.
