---- Chapter 155: Strict Hubby Scarlett lunged at Sierra, nearly smacking her. "Are you out of your mind? Why didn't you block Derek from that post?" Sierra just smirked. "Who knew your husband was such a control freak?" Scarlett froze. "You... you..." Before they could argue further, Derek appeared, pulling Scarlett by the hand toward the bar exit. "It's late. You can't spend another minute ogling guys. With all your energy, maybe you should just come to work with me tomorrow!" Scarlett didn't even get a chance to say goodbye to Clara or Sierra. Clara tugged at Sierra's sleeve.

"Delete that post, now!" Sierra arched an eyebrow. "Don't tell me... you have a strict hubby too?" It was too late. Clara's phone buzzed with a video call from Aaron. Her hand shook, and she accidentally hung up. "He's not a strict husband!" Clara muttered defensively. "It's respect. Mutual respect, got it?" ---- Her phone buzzed again. This time, a text: Still out this late? Clara typed back quickly. Just out chatting with Scarlett and Sierra. Heading home now. Aaron replied instantly: Be careful. Call me when you get back. She didn't know if he was angry or not.

Clara waved to a server to bring the bill, and Mason stepped over. "You heading out? I can walk you guys out. "No need. Sierra's driving." Clara looked up at him. "How much do we owe you? We can't just take advantage." Mason smiled warmly. "Don't worry about it. Just come back and sing a few more songs next time." Clara finally let it go, and the two left together. The moment Clara opened her front door, Aaron's video call came through again. She slipped off her shoes and answered, slightly out of breath. "Did you track me? I just got in!" Aaron's voice was calm.

"Was the bar fun?" "Just chatting," Clara said, heading upstairs. She peeked ---- into Leo's room. He was sound asleep, finally at peace, and she returned to her own room. Aaron's next words were careful. "Three girls alone at a bar... was that safe? Wouldn't it have been easier to just talk at home?" Clara smiled faintly. "Funny enough, that bar was run by an old schoolmate of mine." Aaron didn't flinch. "A guy?" Clara nodded. "Yeah. I didn't even recognize him at first." Aaron said quietly, "Next time, take me with you." Clara arched an eyebrow.

"You don't like these places." "Sometimes I go. Tristan's throwing a hospital release party tomorrow. I'm going. Okay?" Clara stifled a laugh. "So this is a lawyer asking permission?" Aaron's cornered smile curved. "I'm just giving my wife a heads-up. Better safe than sorry." Clara laughed brightly. "Seems like you're not a strict husband like Sierra said." Aaron's low chuckle came over the line. "Clearly, she got it backward. I don't dare boss you around." ---- Guilt pricked Clara. She had snuck out tonight without telling him.

"Next time, I'll let you know in advance." Satisfied, Aaron's eyes twinkled through the screen. "Good. Get some rest. It's late." After hanging up, Aaron opened the video Derek had sent him of Clara singing. Forget my name. For one more second in your arms... And I'd lose the world without a thought. Clara appeared on the screen, radiant and captivating. Aaron's thumb gently brushed her image on the phone. Damn it. He didn't want anyone else seeing her like that. Sleep abandoned him. He kept working, knowing that once he finished, he could rush home.

Meanwhile, Olivia was tasked with helping Tristan leave the hospital. After handling the discharge paperwork, she returned to the room. His luggage was untouched, so she took the initiative to pack it carefully.
