---- Chapter 78: Shouldn't I Be the One Worried? When they got home, Leo had already passed out from exhaustion. Clara changed him into clean clothes, quickly washed him up, and let him sleep peacefully. Back in their bedroom, Aaron turned on some music and wrapped his arms around Clara, pulling her in for a dance. "My wife is just too perfect-what if I get the urge to hide you away?" Clara lazily draped herself around his neck. "Shouldn't you be the one getting hidden away?" Aaron grinned.
"Didn't I already hide my heart in you long ago?" Clara straightened up, pinching both of his earlobes between her fingers as she studied him with a teasing smile. "So the hotshot lawyer's given up on the courtroom and is switching to literature now? Spitting poetry like that with such a sweet mouth?" Aaron lowered his head and murmured, "You haven't tasted how sweet it is tonight... how would you know?" Before she could respond, his lips had already found ---- hers-soft, lingering, full of longing. He drowned in her sweetness, completely lost in it.
She felt like some ancient, undiscovered treasure-every inch of her sparkled with surprises. Every step, every turn revealed some hidden gem that only made him fall harder. The longer he was with her, the deeper she pulled him in. He was utterly captivated. Aaron was so far gone, so spellbound, that if she told him the Earth was flat, he'd probably believe her without blinking. After a long moment, Clara was the first to come back to her senses. "You seriously learned ballroom dancing in college?" Aaron nodded. "Yeah, but I didn't have a regular partner later on, so I barely practiced.

I'm pretty rusty now. Teach me, honey." Clara secretly giggled. Moments like this were rare-and she loved it. She adored how he never left any room for ambiguity, how he never gave anyone else the chance to even imagine they had a shot. She just wanted to give him a big ol' thumbs up! So she got fired up. "Then you better take it seriously!" ---- Aaron smiled. "With a teacher like you, of course I'll take it seriously." But his words unexpectedly reminded Clara of her mom. "My mom's the one who was really a good teacher." Aaron picked up right where she left off. "Yeah, our mom's amazing.
She raised someone as wonderful as you." Clara began to speak softly, the memories flowing naturally. "My mom was so patient. She hardly ever got mad. She always spoke gently and taught me everything she knew. But she wasn't like other parents-she never forced me to take exams or perform. I remember during family gatherings, my dad loved to show me off. He'd make me play the piano, sing, do all kinds of things. I hated it. It felt like I wasn't a person, just some trophy he could parade around for bragging rights.
That's when my mom would step in, give me an out-she'd ask me to help grab something or run an errand, just to spare me. My dad even argued with her about it..." Her voice was calm and steady, almost cinematic, as she painted the picture. Aaron listened intently, as if he could see that stubborn little girl, pouting as she stood her ground. ---- Clara continued, "My mom told me the point of learning things wasn't fame or recognition. It was to enrich yourself, to bring yourself joy. So you wouldn't get lost in the daily grind of chores and bills.
Honestly, my parents never should've been together. My dad and mom -two totally different kinds of people. I don't even know how it happened." At this point, Clara didn't even want to say her dad Owen's name anymore. Aaron thought for a moment before replying, "Maybe it was just a moment of infatuation. Or maybe people just... change." Clara asked softly, "What about us? What will we be like in the future? Will you change too?" Aaron gave her a look. "Change how? I'm thirty-five, babe. My personality's set, my goals are clear, and I know exactly what I want.
Shouldn't I be the one worried here? You're young, brilliant-what if one day some guy who totally vibes with you and shares all your values shows up and steals you away?" He thought of that guy at the hospital who brought her flowers-and his mood instantly soured. Clara burst out laughing. "You're such a baby! That was ages ago and you still remember?"
