---- Something this... expensive?" Aaron shook his head. "Not today. Remember when you sold your villa? I had you sign two documents. One of them transferred my property into your name." Clara felt a mix of awe and unease. "This is... way too much. You didn't need to do this." "To me, it's not too much. Nothing matters more than you and Leo. We're family now. What's mine is yours, and what's yours is mine-there's no difference." As he spoke, the car pulled into a sprawling standalone villa. Two middle-aged adults came toward them as soon as the car stopped in the garage. "Mr.
Devereaux, welcome home!" Aaron nodded, then led Clara to the living room. "This is Alvin and Ronni," he introduced. Then he gestured toward Clara. "And this is Mrs. Devereaux." ---- Alvin and Ronni weren't surprised. When Matt had come by earlier, he had mentioned that Aaron was married and living with his wife. Still, they hadn't expected the couple to come together so soon. They greeted her warmly. "Good evening, Mrs. Devereaux!" The villa had been quiet for months. Apart from Matt dropping in occasionally, only Alvin and Ronni lived there. Ronni glanced at the clock. "Mr. and Mrs.

Devereaux, do you want a late-night snack? I can make something for you." Aaron looked at Clara. She shook her head. "No need," he said. "It's late. You two should get some rest." Clara wasn't used to being waited on like this. She turned her gaze around the spacious living room. Aaron took her hand and guided her upstairs. "It's too late to explore tonight. We'll do it tomorrow." ---- They followed the winding staircase to the bedroom. Clara expected him to turn on the lights so she could look around. Instead, the door clicked shut, and Aaron pressed her gently against the wall.
Before she could react, his lips claimed hers, prying her mouth open to savor the sweetness he knew so well. In the darkness, the sound of their kisses felt heightened, intimate and charged. Aaron was relentless, one hand cupping her face, the other stripping off her coat. Her knit dress clung thinly to her skin. The heat of his body against hers made her shiver. A soft moan escaped, and her arms wound around his neck as she tilted her head to meet him. She quickly melted into his fervent embrace, her day-long restraint vanishing, leaving only desire and instinct.
His hand traveled higher, the heat trailing up to ---- linger at her most sensitive spot. Skin pressed against skin, and Clara's soft cries of pleasure filled the room. Soon, her legs could no longer support her. She sagged into him, weak and trembling. Suddenly, she remembered that game of Truth or Dare. He really had remembered her preferences. Lost in passion, she felt him carry her to the bed. The cold sheets surprised her touch. She reached out and felt something soft-petals? Turning her head, she gasped. "Turn on the light. I want to see this." Aaron's voice was husky.
"Later." Clara nudged his chest. "Come on, now!" Finally, he flicked the switch. Clara sat up, heart pounding. The bed was blanketed in rose petals. Not just the bed-the path from the door to the bed was also covered, a fiery red carpet of petals, ---- breathtaking in its intensity. She scanned the room and saw the unmistakable touches of a wedding bedroom: an elegant canopy bed draped in gauzy curtains, soft glowing lamps, silk sheets beneath the petals, and even a pair of crystal champagne flutes on the nightstand. Clara smiled. She often forgot she was married.
Being with Aaron still felt like being in love-exploring, learning, discovering each other. But this room was a vivid reminder: they were husband and wife.
