---- "Do you need this?" she asked. "Leave the fruit and gifts for the nurses. They've been taking care of me." She sorted his documents neatly in the front pocket of the bag. "Your medicine is in this side pouch." "Chargers and cables here." "Clothes need to be disinfected once we get home." Tristan reclined on the sofa, watching Olivia move efficiently. Normally, his companions were all men. He had never had a woman care for him like this before. For the first time, he felt a strange warmth bloom in his chest. Olivia, sharp and efficient in court, now displayed a tender, gentle side.
Tristan had never expected it. "Ready? Let's go!" Olivia noticed he was still dazed. "Are you okay? Need a hand?" Tristan nodded, "Yes, help me up. My legs are still a little weak." ---- "Do you want me to call a doctor?" Olivia asked, concerned. "No, just steady me," he said. The driver had already moved the luggage to the car, so Olivia had to walk over to support Tristan. Tristan leaned lightly against her, pretending weakness, and together they moved toward the elevator. Olivia's heels added almost a foot to her height, making her head nearly level with his chin.
A pleasant fragrance surrounded him, and Tristan admitted it felt... nice. "Some friends are celebrating my release tonight. Will you come?" Tristan asked. "| don't know anyone there. Why bother?" Olivia replied, feeling the weight of his body pressing subtly against her. "Are you ready for a party?" The elevator arrived, and as they stepped in, more people crowded the space. A patient in a wheelchair joined them, pushing Olivia to the corner. "[ have to go. Can't let my friends get bored," Tristan said quietly. "You might be helping out over there too. Good chance to meet more people.

Could come in handy for work." ---- His warmth pressed against her side, and Olivia blushed. She shifted slightly to create a bit of space. "Okay, send me the address." The elevator doors slid open at the next floor, anda few more people squeezed inside, packing the car even tighter. Olivia teetered in her high heels, struggling to keep her balance. Tristan's arm instantly wrapped around her shoulders, creating a human shield against the press of bodies in front of them. Finally, they were both steady. A long-haired girl beside them nudged her boyfriend. "See?" she grumbled.
"Now that's a thoughtful boyfriend, looking out for his girl. What are you, a statue?" A fresh wave of heat washed over Olivia's face. What was she supposed to do, turn to the girl and announce, 'Oh, he's not my boyfriend'? Tristan was pressed right against her, and the warmth radiating from his body made her feel even more flustered. Still on the 17th floor, she thought desperately. When ---- are we ever going to reach the lobby? A slow smile spread across Tristan's lips. He glanced down and noticed the delicate pink blush creeping from her earlobe down her neck. His mood soared.
When the elevator finally dinged for the ground floor, the doors opened to a welcome rush of cool, fresh air. Olivia let out a breath she hadn't realized she was holding. After helping him into the car, Olivia was about to say her goodbyes, but Tristan cut her off. "Hey, I'm really sorry, but I think I'm going to need your help for a little while longer. Could you help me get upstairs later?" Feeling a pang of sympathy, Olivia sighed and climbed into the car from the opposite side.
