---- Chapter 44: Office Tea Party Gossip That night, right before bed, Clara wrapped herself up in the blanket like a sushi roll-tight to the left, then tighter to the right-completely ignoring the amused glint in Aaron's eyes. She refused to believe she was really that shameless. No way! But in the dead of night, Clara-known for sleeping like the dead-was out cold, lightly snoring, totally defenseless.

What she didn't know was that a certain someone had quietly reached out a sneaky hand, gently peeled away her blanket barrier, and once again smuggled her into his own bed like a seasoned thief. Just as the sky began to brighten, Clara was jolted awake by the vibration of her alarm-something she'd set on purpose. She'd planned to get up early, just in case she needed to do any damage control. And sure enough, there she was again-back in Aaron's bed, ---- practically sprawled across his body like a human blanket. She was just about to slip out stealthily when Aaron's eyes flicked open.

He looked at her, teasing smile already in place. "Babe, you doing this on purpose?" Clara started to question her own sanity. Was she really this thirsty for a man? But facts were facts. She had broken her own rules. So she could only look pitiful and plead for mercy. "Your Honor, I swear I won't break the rules again. Please let me off this time." Aaron raised a brow. "So if I broke the rules, would you let me off the hook too?" Nope! Clara almost blurted out. But she bit her lip and put on her most aggrieved expression. "Then at least be careful next time. Don't leave marks, okay?

Just look at my neck-those hickeys had all my coworkers giggling yesterday." In the faint glow of the nightlight, Aaron's gaze trailed down the line of red marks on her neck ---- and below. The memory of yesterday morning's sweetness hit him like a freight train. His body heated up uncontrollably. At this time of day, men didn't need much provocation. His voice dropped, dangerously husky. "No worries. This morning, I'll just borrow your hand." Clara really, really didn't want to understand what he meant-but as a doctor, unfortunately, she understood it all too well.

She didn't even get the chance to think. His scorching kiss landed hard, leaving her dizzy. Her hand was already guided-straight into unfamiliar territory. Hot, ragged breaths grazed her ear. Sweat clung to his forehead and neck, making him look like some kind of sin incarnate. Clara's arm had long since gone numb. God knew how long they'd been going, but she finally couldn't take it anymore and whimpered, "Can we stop now? Isn't this punishment going a little overboard?" No answer. She tried again. "Leo's gonna wake up soon..." ---- Still no response-only the sound of heavier breathing.

Desperate, Clara leaned down and bit his neck gently, murmuring, "I'm so tired... hubby..." That one word-"hubby"-completely broke Aaron's defenses. With a satisfied groan, he finally collapsed on top of her, wrapping her in a possessive hug like he never wanted to let go. Later, Clara stood at the bathroom sink, listlessly scrubbing her sore hand. The guilty party, meanwhile, had already put on his suit and looked like a million bucks. He strolled over, pecked her cheek, and said with a bright grin, "Thanks for your service, sweetheart!

I'm gonna go check on Leo." And just like that, he disappeared-utterly satisfied. That evening after work, when Aaron returned to their room, he immediately noticed something: only one blanket on the bed. He raised a brow at Clara, who was sitting at the headboard flipping through a book. "That's it? Game over?"
