---- Still no idea. Leo: "A towel." Leo: "What has a head, a tail, but no body?" Nope. Leo: "A coin!" The adult team got wiped out. Not a single correct answer. Leo won by a landslide and demanded a trip to the convenience store for ice cream. While waiting to pay, Clara's gaze drifted to the rack beside the register-the one stocked with condoms. Her eyes flicked shyly to Aaron. He got the message instantly. So this was it? A surprise benefit from Mrs. Devereaux? There were still twelve days left in their three-month agreement, but now-bam!-a pre-Christmas bonus!
He could barely breathe ---- from the excitement. Without a second thought, Aaron grabbed one of every brand from the shelf and dumped them all on the counter. The cashier gave him a weird look. Aaron remained unfazed-cool as ice. Clara, on the other hand, practically fled the store in embarrassment. She could not handle this. On the drive home, Aaron stared at the crawling traffic in front of them, burning with impatience. Their hands were clasped tightly, palms slightly sweaty. But then reality hit him like a bucket of cold water-oh no. They had a party tonight.

By the time they got home, the house was already full. Scarlett, Derek, Sierra, Austin, Elsie, and even Tristan were all there. Derek immediately shouted, "Come on, spill it! ---- Where'd you two lovebirds sneak off to while we were sitting here twiddling our thumbs?" Clara didn't even acknowledge him. The moment she walked into the living room, her gaze locked on the piano next to the Christmas tree. Its sleek black finish gleamed like glass, the curves elegant and timeless. Clara walked over in awe. She lifted the lid and ran her fingers over the keys.
The crisp, bright sound rang out in a delicate melody. Aaron came to her side. "Like it? It's your Christmas present." Clara's eyes lit up. "When did you get this?" Ever since they moved to Greystone, they hadn't bought a piano-there just hadn't been space. It was something she'd always regretted. Aaron said, "I ordered it as soon as I found out you could play. Had them deliver it today on purpose." ---- Scarlett grinned. "Enough with the flirting. Play us something already!" Derek chimed in, "Yes! Word is that Mrs. Devereaux plays like a pro. They say you're on par with Sebastian himself.
I missed it last time-don't hold out on me now!" Clara glanced at him with a playful smirk. "Fine. T'll play something for you old-timers born in the eighties." Derek groaned. "Can you not drag me like that on such a happy day?" Clara warmed up her fingers and lightly touched the keys. Her hands danced across the piano, and soon, the opening notes of Encounter filled the room.
Then she began to sing: Oh, we were strangers in the night, till the moment crossed the line, One look and the world rewrote its rhyme; Now every echo of my pulse spells your name in ---- perfect time- Forever changed by the moment you became my rhyme. So here we stand-two verses bound by happenstance and chime, A never-ending couplet, forged in that first glance's prime; And every breath we take repeats the cadence of that time- Still in love with the encounter when you became my rhyme. The smooth melody and her crystal-clear voice wove through the air, captivating everyone in the room.
In that moment, all Aaron could see was Clara-her graceful figure, her gentle light. Everything else faded into nothing. When the song ended, and the music stopped, the room erupted into applause.
