---- Chapter 182: You Should Stay Away From Him Tristan's good mood managed to survive all the way through dinner. Even after he got home, he was still grinning from ear to ear as he flopped onto the sofa. Honestly, the distance between Greystone and Silverton wasn't a big deal to him. His real fear was that once Olivia went back, with no work tying them together, he might never see her again. Six months could fly by. He knew he had to make his move, and fast. He pulled out his phone, planning to text Olivia, but after a few seconds of hesitation, he changed his mind.
She might not even text back. It was better to just call. The phone rang for a good ten seconds before Olivia finally picked up. "Mr. Black? Is something wrong?" Tristan: "Liv, you hungry? Want to come down for a late-night snack?" Olivia: "I'm not hungry. Thanks, Mr. Black! Was there something else?" ---- "Um, it's just..." Tristan stammered, completely losing his nerve. Olivia: "If there's nothing else, I'm going to hang up?" "Yes!" The word shot out of Tristan's mouth. "It's just...

your work schedule for tomorrow..." He didn't even get to finish before a man's voice cut in from the other end. "Liv, you ready? I thought we were going for BBQ. Let's go!" Tristan froze. A man? And he called her 'Liv'? So familiar. Was that her boyfriend? It couldn't be. She'd told him she didn't have a boyfriend! And her hotel room was just a standard suite with only one bed! Tristan felt like he'd been struck by lightning, completely paralyzed. "Mr. Black? If this isn't an emergency, we can talk at work tomorrow," Olivia said when he didn't respond. After a beat, she tried again. "Mr.
Black? Are you there? I'm going to hang up." Still nothing. Olivia glanced at her phone, figured the call had dropped, and just ended it. ---- Olivia spun around and glared at her brother, Marcus. "Who eats barbecue in the middle of the night?" Marcus: "Come on! I don't have class tomorrow, so I can sleep in." Olivia's mood soured even more. "So just because you don't have class, my well-being doesn't matter? Don't I have to work in the morning? It's late. Just sleep on the couch." Olivia's younger brother was a junior at a university in Silverton.
"Liv, you don't love me anymore!" Marcus said, putting on a wounded face. "We haven't seen each other in ages, and you can't even treat me to one little barbecue?" A guy who was almost six feet tall trying to look pitiful was a sight to behold. Olivia shoved his head away. "Ages? I could have sworn Ijust stuffed you with a giant bag of snacks last week. Did I give them to the wrong person?" Marcus: "You said it yourself, that was last week. That's over a hundred hours! I'm a growing boy, I have a fast metabolism!
Are you trying to starve your own brother?" Olivia burst out laughing and pinched his muscular ---- arm. "You're built like a tank and you call that being starved?" In the end, Olivia couldn't win the argument with him and went to the bathroom to change. Even though her family was just average, they were all very close, and she had a great relationship with her younger siblings. As the big sister, she was used to them depending on her, and she could never really say no to them. Sometimes she felt more like their mom than their actual mom was.
The moment Marcus saw she was ready, he grabbed her hand and dragged her to the door. "Let's go!" Once they were in the elevator, Marcus draped half his body over her shoulders. Olivia gave his waist a hard pinch. "You're going to crush me! Have you forgotten how much you weigh?" Marcus just laughed and grabbed her hand. "My big sister is super strong. This is nothing to you!" Olivia giggled and jumped up to pinch his cheek. "With such a sweet mouth, how long do you plan on leeching off me?" Marcus: "Oh, another ten years or so, probably."
