---- By the end of the night, Sierra was definitely a little tipsy. Clara offered, "Want me to walk you home?" Sierra waved it off. "No, I'm good. It's just around the corner." Austin didn't hesitate-he scooped Elsie up with one arm and supported Sierra with the other. "Don't worry, I'll get her home safe." Clara gave him a thumbs-up and whispered, "Go get her!" Anyone with eyes could see Austin still had feelings for Sierra. Later, after tucking Leo into bed, Clara came back to find Aaron fresh out of the shower, ready to head downstairs and work some more. But when he saw her, he paused.
"How about dinner with Derek on Saturday night?" Clara blinked. Derek? Oh-right. That random guy who'd popped up in Aaron's office last time. "Pass." ---- Aaron raised an eyebrow. "Hey, I had dinner with your friends tonight. Fair's fair." Clara frowned. "I didn't ask you to be here." With a lazy smile, Aaron said, "Wanna hear a secret? Derek's girlfriend is Scarlett Campbell." Clara's jaw dropped. "You mean Scarlett Campbell-the one just nominated for Best Actress?!" Aaron nodded knowingly. He'd seen Clara watching one of Scarlett's movies just the night before. Clara squirmed.
"Ugh, but it's still gonna be so awkward!" Aaron chuckled. "You're overthinking it. I promise, once you meet him, it won't be awkward at all." And just like that, Clara's nosy, gossip-loving side won the internal battle. "Fine! But lunch, not dinner." Saturday came, and they met at a restaurant ---- Aaron had picked. The place was peaceful and rustic, with no big dining hall-just private wooden cabins tucked away among the trees. Each cabin spaced far apart for privacy. Before they reached their reserved room, a tall guy with a laid-back swagger approached.

Handsome, grinning ear to ear, he greeted Clara warmly, "Mrs. Devereaux, what an honor to finally meet you in person!" Aaron introduced him. "My friend-Tristan Black. He owns the place." Clara smiled. "This place is stunning! The design is incredible." Tristan looked genuinely pleased. "Great taste! Aaron told me you love our pastries. I'll have a fresh batch made for you anytime. Just say the word, and we'll deliver them straight to your door." Aaron added, "That top-rated restaurant in Silverton? That's his, too." ---- Clara was genuinely impressed.
"Wow, seriously impressive!" Tristan laughed it off. "Nah, I just dabble. Aaron's the real silent partner behind the scenes. Anyway, go ahead-I'll catch up in a bit. Derek's already inside." Once Tristan was out of earshot, Clara smirked at Aaron. "Look at you, Mr. Devereaux! Hiding this whole food empire from me. Here I thought you were just standing in line to buy pastries. Turns out you own the whole place!" Aaron just smiled. "If it makes you happy, I'll stand in line for you every day." Clara squinted. "But seriously-how'd you get into the restaurant business?
Seems so random." Aaron explained, "I do a lot of meetings outside the office. Having our own venues makes things easier. We've got spots like this in a few cities. Tristan handles the day-to-day-he's got the knack." Clara grinned. "So what I'm hearing is... free ---- food everywhere I go?" Aaron playfully pinched her nose. "As much as you want, princess." They finally reached the private room and pushed the door open. Just like that, any awkwardness Clara had feared completely disappeared.
