Chapter 479 Chapter 479 +25 Bonus Amelia's POV The next morning, I decided to put my plans into action, as the training courses were set to start. I couldn't work and train at the same time, especially since I was trying to train in secret, so as we were having a quick breakfast in the kitchen, the girls already off to school with their bodyguards, I told Damien, "I think I might want to stay home today." Damien looked at me with surprise, but there was also some relief in his face.
My staying home had been what he always wanted, so I had rightly assumed he wouldn't ask too many questions about it. He still had some, however. "Are you feeling well?" he asked. "I am," I said. "I'm just a bit... overwhelmed. I think I'd like to stay home today until I feel a bit stronger. I kept my words as close to the truth as possible, not wanting him to detect any lies from me. After all, I was overwhelmed by the desire to help but being unable to do so. So I was going to stay home and train, until I felt physically stronger. No lies there. Damien nodded, easily accepting my words.

"I'll add more guards on patrol of the house to help you feel safe," he said. "I hope that you can find peace today." "I will," I said. He smiled and kissed me. His clear worry for me arouse some guilt within me, but I squashed it by reminding myself that he preferred when I stayed home. My helping Keegan was only his compromise to me, not something he actually wanted me to do. Keegan was very efficient on his own. Though I enjoyed working with him and liked him as a person, he didn't need me there. If anything, I just got in his way, the newbie, inexperienced and always underfoot.
Damien kissed me again. "Thank you for prioritizing your safety," he said. Then after breakfast, I walked him to the door and we said goodbye. The guards closed the door, taking their posts at every entrance and exit. Not wanting them to see what I was doing, certain they would report back to Damien, I gathered my things and went upstairs to the bedroom I shared with Damien. The bedroom had a television on the wall, but we never really watched it. Typically when we fell into bed, we kept ourselves busy with... other activities. Damien and I truly couldn't seem to get enough of each other.
The television came in handy now though. Finding the remote was a challenge. It was buried deep in one of the nightstand drawers, tossed aside and forgotten, and then when I found it, the batteries were dead, so I had to go on a search to find new ones. By the time I had the remote working, the first training of the day was getting started. Worried the guards might hear, I turned on the closed captioning and muted the volume. 1/2 Chapter 479 +25 Bonus Then, setting aside the remote, I started the training, trying to imitate the instruction of the guard trainer on screen.
I wasn't sure what kind of exercise my body had been through in the past six years, but from what I did remember, I was never an over-achiever when it came to physical fitness. I went to the gym three times a week, and ran on the treadmill. But I never had much need for peak physical strength. I never imagined I would be in a human fight, much less a werewolf battle. Yet here I was. Since I never really trained for anything like this before, I expected my body to get tired fairly quickly. Instead, my wolf, even dormant, seemed to add new strength and stamina that I hadn't anticipated.
I completed the entire first training without needing a break. I was also surprised how quickly I had taken to the training, learning the punches and dodges fairly quickly. I wasn't able to take part in the shifting part of the training, so I used that time to practice dodging some more. By the end of the exercise, I felt like I had made some really big steps. 日 Comments ப Support Share 2/2 Joseph King
