Chapter 369 +25 Bonus Chapter 369 Amelia's POV When all of the main preparations were made, I focused on other things, like timing and who should give toasts and speeches and the like. These preparations didn't need to be decided with anyone in person, so I could stay home to work on them. That was vitally important to Damien, it seemed, as he refused to leave for work on days that I had planned to leave the house. Only today, after I promised him I would stay home, did he go to the office. I still didn't totally understand his motives.

Every time I asked him if he was okay, he assured me that he was. Despite my gentle prodding on the topic, I could never get much more than that out of him. Since I planned to stay home today anyway, it wasn't exceedingly difficult not to go out. I just wished I knew the full reasons why he was so protective about it. Oh, well. For him to have those reasons, they had to be good ones. I trusted my husband, and didn't think he would lie to me about anything. So I just had to accept his judgement. Then the house phone rang. One of the servants answered it, but then brought it to me.

"Luna," the servant said. I was still adjusting to hearing the title in connection with myself, and I delayed a moment before I remembered she was talking to me. "Yes?" "The girls' school office is on the phone. They wish to speak to either you or Alpha Damien about Stacy." "Is she alright?" I asked, reaching out for the phone at once. The servants face scrunched up a bit like she was in pain. "I think she might be in trouble again." Again? I had so many questions about that, but they could wait while the school was on the line. Taking the phone, I held it up to my ear. "This is Amelia.

Uh, Luna Amelia." "Lady Amelia," said a sharp female voice on the line. "It's good we finally speak. I need you to come in for us to have a face-to-face meeting about your daughter Stacy." Remembering the servant's words, that Stacy was likely in trouble again, I tried to sound innocent as I asked, " Is something the matter?" "It's better if we discuss this in person. How soon can you come to the school?" I checked the clock on the wall. It wasn't even lunch yet. "Shouldn't we wait until the end of the school day?" "No," the woman said. I realized then that she hadn't even introduced herself.

"Stacy is being sent home for the day. But I want to speak to you first." 1/2 Bonus "May I ask who this is?" She clucked her tongue at me, like I should have known somehow, even without her telling me, who she was. "I'm Mrs. Myers, of course," she snapped. "I'm sure Stacy or your husband talked about me." Actually, neither had, and that she thought they had spoken of some ego. I decided not to push her too hard, not yet, not until I knew what she was accusing Stacy of. "I'll leave at once," I said. "I'll need to bring a few guards with me." "Do what you must," Mrs. Myers said.

"But the longer you keep me walting, the longer Stacy has to stand in the hallway." She hung up then. With that threat in the air, I didn't feel like there was much time to lose, else I would have called Damien and alerted him to the situation and my need to go out. Instead, I went to the head of the guards protecting the house. "I need to go to the school," I said. "Stacy is in some kind of trouble." The guards glanced at each other. I could see they were hesitating, likely under some kind of orders to keep me in the house, but I was adamant.

"This horrible teacher is punishing Stacy by making her stand alone in the hallway until I get there. We cannot delay." 日 Comments Support Share 2/2 Joseph King
