Chapter 396 +25 Bonus Chapter 396 Ian's POV Furiously, I sat in the back of the sedan provided by Alpha Jake's enforcers, as they drove me home. Once we reached my estate, they didn't even turn into the driveway. They just opened the door and shoved me out of it. Before I had even steadied myself, they closed the door again and drove off down the road. This left me to walk along down the length of my driveway, returning to my house where the servants were already nervously opening the door. Tonight had been only one more insult to add on top of the insults I had already endured.

Yet, at least now, having seen this mysterious Amelia for myself, I had the confirmation I had needed. Amelia and Annette were one in the same. I had no idea why I was the only one making a big deal about this. It was as if everyone else was purposefully ignoring it. For what intent? Hell if I knew. But it was all starting to feel like it was done just to call me out and make me feel crazy. For the first time, I could start to fully understand how Sienna and Claire must have felt when they had been planning and carrying out their attacks against Amelia. Annette.

Whatever she wanted to be called. Sienna had told me herself that she thought Amelia was involved in some kind of witchcraft, because she seemed to have convinced absolutely everyone around her that she was some kind of saint and martyr. The world wanted to protect her, and Sienna's own family had ignored her to do just that. She had been so angry then, the only one who could really see the truth. Even I had been caught in Amelia's spell. Now that I was out of it, now that I could see the world more clearly, I understood just what Sienna meant.

Maybe Amelia was a witch, able to twist others around her finger, manipulating them into seeing things the way she wanted them to see things. Maybe there were so few of us left now that knew the truth. I couldn't help but feel some amount of sympathy for Sienna and Claire now, trapped in their jail cells, Sienna already judged while Claire was still attending her own trial. After everything that Jake, Damien, and Amelia had put them through, they probably hadn't experienced much kindness as of late. This inspired me.

The moment I was inside the house, the servants tending to my shucked off coat, I insisted, " Someone get me a florist on the phone." "It's late, Sir." "I don't care," I said. I wanted to show kindness and I wouldn't wait for anyone else to get on board with it. I had enough wealth that I generally didn't need to wait for anyone anyway. "Yes, Sir," the servant said and scurried toward my office and presumably the phone there. Steeling myself, I followed her. When she found a florist, I would make my purchase. Sienna and Claire would be in for a bright surprise in the morning.

1/3 Chapter 396 +25 Bonus Damien's POV With everything that had happened tonight, I was eager for the party to actually end, so I could get Amelia back home safe and sound. That run in with Ian had been too much, and had brought forth too many questions. Even in the car ride home, from Amelia's quiet, I could tell that she was thinking about everything that had occurred. Perhaps she was even mulling over those dreaded questions I had hoped to avoid. Things like, who was Annette? I had successfully distracted her at the banquet, but I knew that wasn't a permanent solution.

Eventually, she would be more adamant in her search for answers. I needed to have better solutions by then, but I didn't even know where to begin. At this moment, I had other things on my mind. Like how Ian was allowed to be there to begin with, and what the hell Jake was going to do about this. Ian was a member of Jake's pack, which made him Jake's primary responsibility. Amelia wasn't the only one who wanted answers to questions. I had plenty of questions myself. When we arrived home, we paid the babysitter who then left. "The girls are asleep," she had said as she walked out the door.

No sooner had it closed behind her then a stampede of heavy footsteps came down the stairs, as our girls excitedly bounded down to us, all smiles, with no sleep in their eyes. They must have fooled their babysitter, which wasn't very nice, and we would talk about that. Right now though, they were adorable as they went to hug their mother and then me. "You have to tell us everything!" Amy said. "You are supposed to be in bed," I told them, lightly scolding. Amy lowered her head. Stacy puffed out her bottom lip. "But then how would we learn how the party went?" Amelia smiled kindly.

"I think they can stay up just a few minutes for me to tell them about the food and the decorations," she said, glancing at me. She was looking to see if I was in agreement. Part of me thought I should shut this down, but I didn't have the heart to. Truly, every moment that the girls could bond with their mother was a blessing. How shortly ago, I had thought we had lost her! "Yes, that's fine," I said. "I have to make an important call though. I'll be back in time to tuck them in bed." I gave the girls a stern look. "For real this time." "Yes, Daddy," they both said.

They each grabbed one of Amelia's hands and tugged her into the living room. While they went that way, I went into my study. My phone was in my hand before I ever reached my desk. Jake picked up right away. "Let's hear it," he said. "What the hell are you going to do about Ian?" I demanded. "I've already threatened him with exile," Jake said. "I made my point clear by having my guard escort him 2/3 Chapter 396 +25 Bonus home." That didn't feel like nearly enough. I wanted Ian already exiled. But I supposed I couldn't be the one to demand it.

After all, even after everything Claire had done, I had dragged my feet in sending her away, out of respect to her parents and in knowing that would have been a death sentence for her. I should have made a different choice than the one I had, but it was too late for that now. At least Claire was now in a prison where she finally belonged. But that didn't solve the issue of Ian. "I have the guards at the border blocking him from leaving, but that doesn't mean he won't try to slip through," Jake said. "He doesn't have a full grasp of what's going on.

I'm not sure if he's dangerous or just an idiot. But keep an eye out, and have Amelia do the same. I've warned him to stay away. If he doesn't take heed of those warnings, I will escalate, regardless of who his family is. I myself had made promises like that in the past, so I knew they weren't always reliable. "If he doesn't heed those warnings, I will deal with him myself," I said with a growl. BIG SALE: 3500 bonus free fou you Comments Support Share +2 3/3 get it X Joseph King
