---- Chapter 83 Another Black Serpent "Ardenia..." Calder called her name again. Ardenia cupped his face in her hands, her gaze dropping to his lips. Calder did the same, his eyes meeting hers, the air between them thick with tension. They kissed, but as soon as their lips touched, Calder passed out. Ardenia was speechless. Is his alcohol tolerance really that bad? He started snoring softly. Ardenia shook her head. She realized she definitely couldn't let Calder drink next time. He'd just come of age-he shouldn't be drinking at all.

She slung Calder over her shoulder and struggled to climb out of the pool. Stupid Calder. He got knocked out in one go. | regret this so much-he's so heavy. It took everything she had to settle him in a grass nest. Only after making sure he was comfortable did Ardenia get dressed and head toward her own cave. ---- She wondered if Tobias and Niall were asleep yet. As she pondered, she suddenly heard something strange coming from the little grove. With sleepy, blurry eyes, Ardenia thought she saw something fall from the sky. She figured she must have had too much to drink.

But curiosity got the better of her, and she walked over to check it out. It was the middle of the night, and the woods were dead silent except for the soft rustling of grass. Ardenia, tipsy and lightheaded, stumbled toward the source of the noise. Tiny sparks of green light gathered around her, just like a cluster of fireflies. Ayoung guy was hidden in the shadows, the pain in his body making his veins stand out. When he sensed someone approaching, he held his breath. But his wounds were too severe, and the strong scent of blood quickly filled the air.

Ardenia frowned, sobering up almost immediately-the smell ---- was so intense it made her nauseous. She fought through the discomfort, step by step, moving toward the scent. The guy's brows knit tighter, but when he saw it was just a female, he let out a silent breath of relief. He figured she was probably just out for a midnight break. Ardenia finally spotted him. Eyes wide, she squatted down in front of him. She let out a surprised little noise. She hadn't expected to find another black serpent besides Tobias. But this one looked special-he even had a horn!

Ardenia reached out and poked his horn. It was soft! She pinched again-there was bone in there. Interesting. Very interesting. Colin Pierson was about to scold her, but he felt a green light wrap around his wounds. In moments, most of his pain faded away. ---- He turned to look at the female in front of him. She smelled like alcohol, which made Colin frown. This female's scent is really something. But she actually had an ability, which was impressive. "All right, little guy, if I'm going to help you, | might as well finish the job.

You can't stay in this spot-the blood you just lost is everywhere. If you stay here, you'll just get eaten by wild beasts. So I'll be merciful!" Still tipsy, she hoisted Colin up, tied him up like a bundle, and tossed him into a nearby pond! Colin was speechless. Thanks a lot! You're being really "helpful'. By the time he dragged himself out of the water, Ardenia had slipped away without a trace. If not for his wounds being mostly healed, he would have thought the whole thing was just a fever dream.

Tobias, who had stormed out in anger, ended up coming back ---- halfway, running right into Ardenia as she came out of the woods. They stared at each other, wide-eyed. Tobias gave a haughty, cold snort-every bit of his annoyance was written on his face. He leaned against a tree, his eyes fixed on Ardenia. He'd planned to wait for her to coax him, but his keen sense of smell told him Ardenia had just been with another male. She was covered in that unfamiliar scent. Tobias panicked. He stepped forward and hugged Ardenia, but when he tried to ask her about it, the words wouldn't come out.

Instead, Ardenia beamed at him, cupped his face, and confessed, "Tobias, let me tell you, I just saw another black serpent just like you, except it had a horn. Isn't that strange?" Tobias said, "It had a horn?" He subconsciously touched his own hidden marking on his forehead, then gave a low "hmm" as a response. Old memories surged up. Tobias's eyes went cold, but the moment he looked at Ardenia, they turned gentle again. ---- Ardenia, still tipsy and flushed, felt hot all over. As she hugged Tobias's cool body, she instinctively cuddled closer, wearing a silly, lovestruck smile.

"So nice, so cool," she murmured, rubbing her face against Tobias's chest like a little kitten. "Ardenia, don't push your luck!" He'd waited all night, and she'd chosen Calder. Then she'd gone off to the woods to find some strange male. He was mad about it! Push my luck? With a little drunken courage, Ardenia decided it was time. She'd always liked Tobias, ever since that time he offered her salt for her roast duck and chased off Iris for her. Tonight, she was going to make him hers.
