Chapter 246 The Pillow War Colin's sighs turned into sniffles, and soon the corners of his eyes were red. Why did the sky just turn dark? +10 Free Coins Why had he spent the whole evening harvesting rice and doing chores, and it still wasn't morning? When would Ardenia come back? At least her scent was still on the pillow. But why did the pillow next to him feel off? Colin got up and wiped his tears. He picked it up, sniffed it- and froze. That was when it hit him: Halden didn't have a cave in the courtyard. Niall had claimed one side, and Calder and Tobias shared the other.
Tobias' cave faced Vesper's, and Colin's cave was right next to Vesper's. That meant Halden had been sleeping in her cave all along. No wonder the bed smelled so strongly of that leopard. Colin stared at the gray-blue pillow, his irritation spiking. Why him? Why was that fox okay with it? O Couldn't he compete with Halden? According to Calder, when they were being spoiled, everyone stayed in their own cave. Halden, though, just plopped down on Ardenia's bed. He'd been careless. No wonder Halden had been here since dawn-not that he had returned, he'd been here the whole time.
Colin's body flashed, and he stormed out. "You move out!" The words were directed at Halden. "Oh, this is aimed at you," Niall snickered. Now, this was getting interesting. Halden didn't respond-though he did give Colin a look. Colin stepped forward. "Why are you in the same cave as het? It's not fair! Either take turns, or don't-but why are you hogging half the bed?" Niall chimed in, "I think he has a point," Celin's bravado practically radiated off him when he saw that someone was on his side. But Halden just smiled. What's with that smile? "You don't get to decide.

Why don't you ask the others if it's fair?" Halden went off to wash up, clearly not interested in wasting words. 1/3 13:07 Wed, Jan 21 Chapter 246 The Pillow War "What does he mean by that?" Colin lost it. +10 Free Coins "Because Ardenia gave all of us chains, except Halden. But we just accepted that he lived there," Calder said, showing the chest chain he wore. Tobias flashed his snake-head chain. Niall smirked quietly, but he had one too. Colin felt devastated-he had nothing. Pain shot through his chest. And Niall, not done, added insult to injury.
"Oh, and by the way, my nest is in her cave too." So what if he can wrap himself around her wrist? Doesn't he know what first come, first served means? "Didn't you guys even think of competing?" Colin started pulling at his hair. "Compete for what? I can't beat him!" "He's a Level 10 peak. You mean you can't?" Colin felt Niall's words were practically hostile. "Level 10 peak? You think you've ever gained anything from him?" That leopard either didn't move at all or went all out, attacking like he didn't care about the cost. Who could beat someone like that?
And this wasn't about competition anyway. Halden slept in the little female's cave because she allowed it. Among the group, he was the first to step forward, and everyone accepted it. Put it this way-when Vesper and the little female lit the totem, the others could still complain, but with Halden? They had nothing to say. It had nothing to do with chains. "Go to sleep. You've got the whole bed tonight. Keep fussing and don't expect anyone to come to your rescue," Calder said. He'd already gotten his butt kicked once-he wasn't about to stir up trouble again.
Colin rolled his eyes, not accepting Calder's advice. He thought the others were just hopeless. "What do you say?" He desperately wanted allies. Tobias blinked. "Me?" Colin could only stare. Seriously? They were all snakes, and Tobias always seemed a step behind. Was he actually clueless, or just acting that way? "Yes, you!" Tobias waved him off. "I've got my own stuff to worry about. I'm counting on Halden to make me something good-I'm not going to make him unhappy. And the little female... that's her choice. Even if you wanted to duel Halden, it wouldn't matter." Fine, fine! Colin got it.
He'd come late, so when it was his turn, there was only one cave left. 14
