Chapter 219 I Won't Run Away 46 +10 Free Coins Once they'd packed up all the food they needed, they all went off to work on the pavilion. The group worked pretty fast, and the pavilion already had ornate carvings and beams. Niall insisted on high standards-even the floorboards had to be perfectly lined up; not a single splinter was allowed. Niall even used his own paws to check it back and forth, so the floor was especially smooth and flat. They'd dug the water channel too, though the water still wasn't clear enough, and there was some dirt to haul away.
The pavilion wasn't quite finished yet-two thick beams were still missing from the top. Calder didn't really understand any of that. He sat under the porch, stringing together pearls with mermaid silk thread, planning to hang them by the windows. He also threaded together all kinds of nutshells to be hung around the pavilion. While Halden cooked, Calder wove bamboo into little tables and chairs, working on his own without bothering anyone else. Calder was really handy, and he always managed to make whatever Ardenia mentioned, putting his own spin on it.
Maybe I should make a little woven merman... Calder blushed, remembering that night under the sea when Ardenia got all mischievous with him. As he daydreamed, he added a little flower to the head of his bamboo merman. Inside the cave, Colin finally woke up. When he realized he was holding Ardenia, his mind went completely blank. He quickly let her Why... Why doesn't it hurt anymore? Maybe he'd remembered something, because a flash of embarrassment crossed his face. "Sorry about just now..." He said sorry out loud, but inside he was secretly delighted.
I'm definitely protecting Ardenia again next time! "Does it still hurt?" Ardenia asked as she pulled her hand back. Her voice was calm and unreadable, leaving Colin unsure of what she really thought. Was it all really just a dream? A wave of disappointment washed over him again. Now that he'd healed, was he supposed to leave? No, he didn't want to! He barely even thought about it-he slapped himself. As expected, her slap came even faster than her concern.

1/3 13:02 Wed, Jan 21 Chapter 219 I Won't Run Away The force of her slap sent Colin's head whipping to the side, leaving him momentarily stunned. "Are you crazy?" Ardenia grabbed his face and scolded him. 46 +10 Free Coins Colin gave a bitter smile and lowered his head, but his tail betrayed him. Worried her hand might hurt, his tail gently reached up to rub her reddened palm. Ardenia let go, tossing him back into the nest of grass. Before he could react, she straddled his lap. With a quick flick of her snake tail, nearly six feet of Colin wrapped her up in a bear hug.
He'd hugged her before she could hug him, and the next second, he broke into sobs-he'd finally made it, finally waited her out! He cried so loudly that even Calder in the pavilion and Halden in the kitchen heard him. Smack! After the slap, Ardenia grabbed his jaw and kissed him. Salty tears ran down his face and into her mouth. Ardenia pressed her hand to the wound in his chest, feeling a little drained. If she didn't want him to stay, even if he tore himself to shreds, it wouldn't make a difference! But he almost sacrificed his life for her...
"You really are a spoiled snake." He'd figured out how to cling to her, hadn't he? Colin's tears hadn't even dried yet, but he looked up at her and started grinning. "Don't kick me out. I'll be good, I'll listen to you." He knew he'd just taken a gamble-and lucked out, big time. Clink! Colin looked down to find a collar with a bell had somehow appeared around his neck... "What's this?" "To keep you on a leash," Ardenia replied. It was a new collar she'd gotten for Cooper, but she hadn't gotten around to use. Fate must've had other plans, because it fit Colin perfectly!
She figured she'd add a metal chain later, and it'd be even better. Colin was so happy that he hugged her tight. "You don't need to tie me up. I won't run." 2/3 13:02 Wed, Jan 21 Chapter 219 I Won't Run Away He wasn't leaving her, not for anything. 46 +10 Free Coins Dinner hadn't even started yet when Ardenia got up to change out all the bloody bedding in the grass nest. Colin stuck to her like glue. Just like Niall, he shrank down into his beast form, smooth and glossy, coiling himself around her wrist.
His little snake head sat obediently on the back of her hand-at a glance, he almost looked like jewelry. Ardenia made his bed, and Colin was just so happy. He flicked his tongue, his round eyes shining with joy. She pinched the horns on his forehead, just like the first time they'd met, then tied him in a knot and tossed him into the nest. The new bedsheets were pink, mostly because Colin's beast form was so dark, and even in human form, his skin was a deep bronze. Honestly, he looked pretty good! The pink pillows... Ardenia paused, barely stopping herself from laughing.
Bright colors made it easier to spot him, after all. 3/3 13:02 Wed, Jan 21 M Liam Prescott
