---- Chapter 70 Falling Into Him "No." Halden's voice came out hoarse, almost torn, as he shut Ardenia down without hesitation. At this moment, only one thought ruled his mind-taking his little female completely. He leaned down, guided her palm to his chest, and whispered softly, "Don't be afraid." Afraid? Please. As if. You're exactly my type-broad shoulders, sharp lines, that face, and lips that look made to be kissed. Honestly, where would | ever find a man like this in the real world? Even the most famous models couldn't compare to Halden. He checked every single box she had.
Ardenia couldn't stop her thoughts from drifting-if their children resembled him, they'd be devastatingly beautiful. Those eyes alone were enough to end her resistance. And that didn't even count the other four dangerously ---- attractive men. Stop it. Don't think about that. "I'm not afraid." "Then why are you trembling?" he murmured, dipping his head to her neck. His teeth brushed lightly, his tongue warm and wicked as it traced her skin. Ardenia let out a soft sound. D*mn him-why does he think fear is the reason I'm trembling?
"Halden, don't..." She meant don't bite, but the words never formed. His tongue carried faint, soft barbs-beautiful and lethal. She gave in completely. Beauty really was a snare, and she'd walked straight into it. Halden felt the shift in her beneath his hands. His lashes lowered, tension flickering briefly across his face. Still strong- still holding back-but now she could finally take him fully. Oh... Come on... At the sound he made, Ardenia blurted, "Stop talking!" ---- Her head was spinning. Why is he still making those sounds right next to my ear?

And worse than that was the low rumble he released beside her-deep, smoky, sinful enough to shake her to the core. She never would've imagined that this distant, icy man could be so easily teased. How did | not notice this before? What a contrast. Even now, her thoughts were wandering everywhere. Halden lifted her face and pressed a kiss down from her forehead. Perfect. At last, he and his little female had ignited their totem. Heat and shadow filled the cave. Near the end, Ardenia's vision blurred, darkness closing in as she lost consciousness.
All she could feel was herself being tossed like a small boat on violent waves. The night dragged on-long, overwhelming, and painfully sweet. ---- By the time the sun stood high, Halden finally stepped out of the cave. The other three had wisely kept themselves busy in the small kitchen, giving the pair their privacy. Their turns would come later; there was no need to interrupt now. But innocent, clueless Calder tilted his head at the marks covering Halden and looked genuinely puzzled. How does copulating end up causing injuries? Vesper caught sight of them and flushed immediately.
He'd been through it himself. He knew exactly where those scratches came from. And honestly, this looked far rougher than when it had been their turn. Halden's back was scored raw. Just seeing it made one ache. Tobias maintained a calm expression as he walked over and sat across from Halden. His voice dropped. "Even if she has wood-based ability, you still should've shown restraint. Halden, she isn't yours alone." Everyone knew snow leopards were intense in that regard, though supposedly they didn't last long.
Yet Tobias had been crouched outside the kitchen since morning, and the cave had never once gone quiet. So much for that rumor. ---- They didn't last long? Yeah, right. Halden had gone in before dawn and was only emerging now. If Tobias had known, he wouldn't have backed off. Halden glanced at him coolly. "Say that again when it's your turn." Please. As if | don't know how to be gentle. I'm careful-always careful. But my little female begs so sweetly, and even my self-control only goes so far. He carried hot water with his spine straight and steady. His girl was waiting.
He had no intention of wasting time arguing with that smug snake. Inside, Ardenia had drifted in and out of sleep. When Halden entered, she smiled and rolled onto her stomach, her cheeks still pink, like petals after spring rain. "Did they give you a hard time?" "No." He set the basin down, took her favorite towel, and carefully ---- cleaned her. They were together now, yet still awkwardly shy. Ardenia tugged the blanket over her head and let him dote on her. It was hot. Burning with desire.
They had gone on far too long for another round, so Halden hurried through cleaning her and then fled the cave, ears flaming. Another minute, and he wasn't sure he could restrain himself again. "Well, well-why the hurry? Who's snapping at your heels?" Niall, gone for two days, had just returned. The first thing he saw was Halden rushing out of Ardenia's cave with a basin, looking slightly battered but extremely, unmistakably satisfied.
