---- Chapter 75 The Prettiest Gift So, Ardenia first touched Tobias' head. Then, she put the chain on him. "Is it pretty?" Tobias asked. His eyes were shining. "It's pretty.' Ardenia paused. She straightened up and leaned close to his ear. She spoke softly, "But the prettiest thing is you." Her voice was light and sweet. Her warm lips brushed the skin of his ear as she spoke. The touch was faint and slow. It felt like a small current running through his body. Tobias' breathing stopped for a moment. His body went stiff. His mind felt like it had exploded with fireworks.
Is the little female doting on me? The feeling hit him all at once. It caught him off guard, and his eyes almost burned. Pull yourself together, Tobias. She's your female. Of course she treats you well. After a moment, Tobias forced the feeling down. He still couldn't hide the smile on his face. ---- Not far from the cave, Halden put down his work and walked over. "Is it handled?" he asked. "Yup, it is," Ardenia answered. "Stephan behaved himself" While she spoke, Halden noticed that Tobias looked strangely excited. He raised his eyes and looked at him with doubt.
"What's with you?" Halden asked. "Oh, you mean this necklace? Ardenia gave it to me. I said I didn't want it, but she insisted." 'Tobias narrowed his eyes happily. The corners of his mouth lifted high. He pushed Ardenia toward Halden and walked off in a good mood to drag the black pig away. He even hummed a little tune as he walked. "Did the snake lose his mind?" Halden muttered. It was just like last time with the fork. The mood shift made no sense. "Tobias is acting strange," Halden said. He pointed at Tobias' back. He still looked confused.

"Why is he smiling like that?" ---- Ardenia cleared her throat with a cough. "It's a long story. Come help me deal with the wheat we got back first." "That bird food?" Halden asked. "It's wheat," she corrected him. "You can make good food with it. You'll see later. Come on." She pulled Halden toward the small kitchen. There was a lot of wheat. It would take a while to finish everything. Ardenia planned to process only a little since it just had to be enough for dinner. She had promised Tobias she would make him flatbread. 'The dried wheat heads were bright yellow.
A warm grain smell came through the husks. Ardenia didn't really like bread and flour-based food. There was no other staple now. They couldn't eat meat at every meal. "What do you need me to do?" Halden asked. "Just tell me. The wheat is sharp, so don't let it poke you." Whenever Halden saw Ardenia working, he felt uneasy. She should be cherished. ---- She should also be loved. He had more than enough strength to do the laborious work. The field they planned to turn into farmland was wide and flat. Niall had pulled out the grass earlier and leveled it with his fox claws. Ardenia looked at it.
It was flat enough. It could be used as a threshing ground. After they chose the spot, Ardenia and Halden moved the dried wheat over. She only gave instructions, as he didn't let her touch anything. He even brought a small stool and put it under the shade of a tree for her. "Just tell me what to do," he said. "I'll do the rest. Sit here and keep me company" His eyes were gentle. He smiled at her with warmth. Ardenia couldn't argue with him. She sat in the shade and explained how to process the wheat. Then, she took the chance to connect to her pocket space.
The moment she opened it, she was shocked and happy ---- as the space had expanded, containing a whole range of items, including a hoe, a shovel, and a hammer, among others. Her eyes went wide. She needed all of these right now. She had been worrying about how to clear land without tools. Now, everything appeared at once. It was a huge surprise. She was the only one in her sect who had managed to create a pocket space. Many shared items had been stored with her. That was why she called it her junk yard. Now she felt very grateful that everyone had treated her like a trash bin.
All those things were useful now. Before, the space had been compressed. Only a small part had been open. There was a cabinet with her personal items. There was a pile of old junk. There was also a bed with one leg missing, propped up with books. She thought about the bed. It had been compressed at first. It was only unlocked later after she and Halden fixed their relationship and cleaned it out. ---- So is this expansion related to Halden? She looked over at Halden while he worked. It really seemed possible.
Her wood-based ability had upgraded after she slept with Vesper, so maybe this was the same kind of thing.
