---- Chapter 103 Staying With Her Halden brought in a bucket of water. Ardenia carefully cut off Calder's clothes and wrung out a towel before she gently wiped the dust from his face. Calder loved being clean. Before he came here, he spent all day soaking in the pool. She looked at the unconscious Calder lying there. Her heart started to ache again. The others behind her felt uneasy. Vesper leaned against the wall and stared at Ardenia without blinking. He wondered whether she would feel this sad if he were the one who got hurt. The answer was yes.
She treated every one of them well and always tried to think about their feelings. This wasn't a good time to joke around, so Niall went outside. He went to the small kitchen to find something to eat. He planned to cook ravioli for Ardenia. After he finally lit the fire, ---- he jumped back in shock. Nobody told him the fire would look this scary when it started burning. Niall stepped back and forced himself to calm down. He put in some firewood and pulled his hand back right away. Even so, the hot stick still burned him. With all that fur, fire scared him the most.
Before he came here, he always ate raw food. Niall admired Halden a little because Halden dared to light a fire and could cook. Compared to them, Halden felt like the most capable mate. Niall didn't want to lose to him, so he forced himself to add more wood to the fire. When the water boiled, he copied what Halden did and dropped the ravioli in-one by one.in Niall didn't know how to do it properly, so many of them broke apart in the pot. He panicked. If they broke, Ardenia wouldn't like them. He reached in to ---- grab them and burned his hand again.

When Ardenia came out of the cave, she saw him in the small kitchen. He jumped around after getting burned by boiling water. He kept switching between human and beast form. He stared at the pot with a worried face and didn't know what to do. "Niall," Ardenia called. Niall's face turned red. He couldn't let her see him this embarrassed. He dove into the nearby pile of grass without thinking. Only his eyes stayed visible as he secretly watched her. Ardenia didn't expect him to cook ravioli for her. She remembered that Niall loved his fur and almost never touched water or fire.
He was just like Calder in that way. Both of them loved being clean. She looked at the pot. The ravioli had turned into something like meat noodle soup. She stayed silent for a long time. Niall's heart pounded. He knew he messed it up, thinking she wouldn't like it. He didn't expect her to scoop some soup into a bowl, sit at the table, and eat it slowly. ---- "It tastes good. Thanks, Niall." Ardenia knew he didn't leave and that he was hiding in the grass behind her. Her little fox was proud, so from the way he jumped earlier, he had to feel shy. That was fine. She liked it.
After hearing that, Niall finally relaxed. He only wanted her to eat something. She looked worn out because of Calder. He watched her eat with a soft smile. He rested his head on his small paws and tilted his head as he looked at her back with squinted eyes, He would keep trying. Next time, he would cook a nice-looking bowl of ravioli. A pretty little female should eat pretty food. While Niall was lost in thought, Ardenia was suddenly gone. He quickly stuck his head out. /s she done eating already? ---- He felt even more sure that his cooking wasn't good enough.
If he had cooked like Halden, she would have eaten more. Niall climbed out of the grass with his head down. Before he could take two steps, Ardenia picked him up. "Ah! Little female, why are you still here?" He felt so embarrassed. His pride was gone. He didn't want her to see him like this. In the past, it didn't matter if he looked bad. Now it was different-he had a female he liked. He wanted to look good in front of her. "Then, I'll leave." Ardenia pretended to stand up. "Don't leave, Ardenia! Don't leave. Stay with me, okay?" Niall quickly wrapped his tail around her wrist.
She worked too hard today. If he could keep her here, she could rest a little. The other two are in the cave anyway. With that thought, Niall shrank his beast form even more. He ---- became small and fluffy. He knew Ardenia liked that. He didn't believe she could still leave him like this. He rubbed his head against her palm and walked in small circles around her like a kitten. Ardenia didn't know why, but she suddenly felt like crying. She knew Niall was trying to cheer her up and make her rest. She sighed. Hugging Niall close, she sat back down at the table.
The soup had cooled, so she scooped some of it. Her gentle voice came from above his head. "Do you want to try some?"
