---- Chapter 71 Returning with a Gift Niall was certain that Halden had already spent his fair share of time with Ardenia. Rage simmered within him-just two days, and someone had laid claim to his little female. Halden remained silent. Niall muttered to himself, It's fine. This is the cost of being spoiled. Seeing Halden quiet, his anger eased. With a small bundle strapped to his back, he leapt gracefully from the table. The last two days had taken a toll on him. For her linen dress, he had ventured deep into the wild forest, battling countless ferocious beasts.

Then he made his way to the city. The journey was utterly exhausting, yet he had at last brought back the linen dress he had promised. Asa bonus, he had leveled up along the way, proving that the saying held true-happy wife, happy life. With that thought, Niall's eyes narrowed, and a grin spread across his face. His nine tails glittered in the sunlight as he ---- strutted straight into Ardenia's cave. "Little female, I'm back!" Ardenia froze mid-transformation. That voice-is it Niall?

As expected, she looked up to see a large white fox bounding inside, a bundle on his back, his fluffy tails fanned out like a peacock. "Where have you been for the past two days?" she asked, her voice tinged with worry. Niall snorted proudly and sprang into her arms. Two days apart had left him aching. He pressed his fox head against her cheek, as if it were the most natural thing in the world. After a long, tender pause, he said, "Your mother took your linen dress, so | went and got you a new one.

You always shower us with gifts, my little female-I want to spoil you too." Then, his pink tongue traced her neck. Ugh, the taste still carries that stinky leopard drool. "Niall..." Ardenia's voice faltered. This fox is insufferable. ---- "Shh, don't thank me." Two of his tails slithered under her clothes, restless. With a mischievous sparkle in his eyes, he whispered into her ear, "Don't thank me. Make it up to me." D*mn, he's too tempting to resist. Just sitting there, Ardenia's fine hairs stood on end. He knew exactly how to tease. Niall observed her changing expressions, amused and smug.

But he also recognized that today wasn't the time for more. Obediently, he withdrew his tails, flopped onto the bed, and immediately shifted into human form-his white skin almost glowing. Especially those eyes-absolutely mesmerizing. "Niall..." Her lips quivered as she murmured his name. "I'm here, my little female." He couldn't just speak-he had to wear that look that could set hearts ablaze. Ardenia leaned down and kissed him. ---- "Thank you for the gift. | love it." "Then wear it for me?" Niall sat up, swiftly unwrapping the bundle to reveal a white linen dress.

Normally, changing in front of him would make her blush, yet she reminded herself that she was about to formalize her mates, so she saw no reason to hold back. When she shrugged off her outer garment, revealing a white lace camisole, Niall's throat tightened involuntarily. So what Julia had pinned in her hair was exactly what he had guessed. Blushing, he forced his thoughts back under control and helped straighten her dress. The waist tie was braided cowhide, adorned with two small, fluffy tails. "Gorgeous!" Niall admired her, eyes shining at the sight of Ardenia in linen.

His little female was blindingly beautiful. A flicker of pride, and his fox tail sprang out behind him. He swished it smugly, grinning at her. ---- Ardenia was about to speak when Tobias appeared. The sulky snake scowled, scooped her up sideways, and marched off. Niall was left stunned and flustered, standing there in disarray. "You didn't even touch the snakeskin jacket I gave you. But the one Niall brought? You wore it immediately!" Tobias' expression darkened, yet he placed her gently ona stool. "Wait for a moment. The meat soup is nearly ready." All bark, soft heart.

Ardenia sipped the broth he brought, warmth spreading through her. Still, something felt incomplete. "Where are Calder and Vesper?" She didn't need to ask about Halden-he never ran out of strength, already off fixing the fence. Tobias muttered, "Stephan arrived. They went ahead." "Just dropping something off?" "Probably. Do you want to go and check it out?" ---- Of course she did. Ardenia finished the bowl quickly and was about to stand when Tobias scooped her up again. She started to protest, but he murmured, "You've been through enough last night. I'll carry you."
