Chapter 214 Her Male Assistant Chapter 214 Her Male Assistant At the law firm. When Valerie found out Whitney was carrying twins, she just gave a big thumbs-up and joked, "Mr. Harris is a total legend." Whitney was speechless. 'Seriously, why is she hyping him up? I'm the one dealing with all the pregnancy drama!' Whitney complained to herself. Maybe it was thanks to Klein's influence, or maybe a new conscience Townsend finally grew. He called Whitney into his office first thing that morning. "Ms. Moore, we were planning to get you an assistant after your promotion.
Now that you're pregnant, and since we just got a new intern yesterday, how about we assign him to you as your assistant?" Townsend said. Whitney smiled. "Sounds good." She was totally on board with that. Having someone to share the workload would definitely make things easier for her, even though her workload had already lightened up a lot lately. But Whitney had no idea how she'd be feeling once she hit the final stretch of her pregnancy. If she could train the intern early, she could kick back and take it easy later on. So Whitney was all for Townsend's decision. "Sounds good, Mr. Barton.
Thanks a lot," Whitney said. Townsend laughed warmly. "You're welcome. I'll swing by your office in a bit." Whitney had barely stepped out of Townsend's office when she ran into the new intern, Lucas Campbell, who looked like he' d just stepped out of a library, seriously bookish and refined. "Hello, Ms. Moore. Mr. Barton said I'll be your assistant from now on," Lucas greeted her. Lucas was soft-spoken, polite and gentle. Valerie was practically staring. Whitney said with a faint smile, "Alright. Your desk is over there.
Just head over to HR for your computer and get yourself set up." As soon as Lucas left, Valerie nudged Whitney with her elbow. "Not bad, Whitney! They really set you up with a classic college boy," Valerie teased. "He looks all skinny and studious, but I bet he's actually pretty fit under those clothes. Young muscles!" Valerie added. Whitney gave Valerie a playful pinch. "Stop it. If you keep this up, you'll scare the him off. Watch out, or he might report you for workplace harassment!" Valerie was just messing around with Whitney while no one else was around.
"Hey, I'm just messing around," Valerie said. But as soon as Lucas came back, she instantly clammed up. 1 Honestly, since Townsend himself introduced Lucas to her, Whitney couldn't help but suspect he was someone with connections that Townsend had pulled in as a favor. But after just half a day, Whitney's suspicions vanished. "Ms. Moore, I've organized all the documents, and I've also completed the missing details for the due diligence report," Lucas reported. Whitney glanced at the neatly arranged files on her desk and felt genuinely pleased. "Thanks, Lucas. Great job," she said.
She glanced at her watch. "It's already 5:30. Let's call it a day." With that, Whitney shut down her computer. Ever since she got pregnant, working overtime was totally out of the question for her. Earlier that day, she hit up the mall next door and just couldn't resist arahhing a few baby outfits, even though she knew it was way too soon. Successfully unlocked! But when she saw all those cute, pink and soft ue mys, se just count help herself and started grabbing stuff left and right.

1/3 Chapter 214 Her Male Assistant It was all going on Klein's card anyway, so she didn't even feel guilty about it. So now she was loaded down with shopping bags, with a coat hanging off her arm. Lucas, quick on the uptake, said, "Ms. Moore, I'm taking the elevator too. Let me help you carry those to your car." Whitney hated to bother anyone, but Lucas was so enthusiastic about helping that she just couldn't turn him down. "Thanks," she said. They rode the elevator in awkward silence. Whitney was never great at small talk. "Hey Lucas, where do you live?" Whitney asked.
Lucas smiled and said, "Just five subway stops from here, so my commute is under half an hour." "Oh, that's pretty close," Whitney nodded. "Very convenient." 'Seems Lucas really isn't some nepotism hire after all, Whitney thought to herself. 'No way a nepotism hire would be taking the subway,' she added. Soon, the elevator reached the first floor. Whitney tried to take the shopping bags back from him. "Let me get those. My family's here to pick me up." She'd wanted to say her driver was coming, but changed it to family because she didn't want to seem too flashy in front of the new intern.
"No worries, Ms. Moore. Let me help you get these to your car," Lucas said. Whitney couldn't help but think, 'This young man is so energetic and enthusiastic. It's making me feel a little awkward.! "My car's right over there. Just give them to me and I'll take it from here," Whitney said. Lucas glanced behind her and said, "Okay, Ms. Moore. See you tomorrow." Whitney said with a polite smile, "See you tomorrow." But as soon as she opened the car door and saw Klein sitting in the back seat with a straight face, she suddenly felt guilty for no reason. "Honey, why did you come?" Whitney asked.
"Who is that man?" Klein shot back. 'Oh, his jealousy meter just went off the charts, Whitney thought to herself. Whitney decided to tease him. "Oh, just some handsome young man I bumped into in the elevator. He offered to help me carry my stuff. No clue which company he's from. I've never seen him before." "Don't you dare!" Klein shot back. Klein reached out and pulled her into his arms. "Don't even think about it! That skinny nerd with glasses? What's so great about him? Is he better looking than your husband?" 'Seriously, why is he so worked up?' Whitney thought.
"You used to wear glasses all the time when you were trying to flirt with me!" Whitney shot back. Whitney wrapped her arms around his neck and whispered in his ear, "Oh, now I remember, you totally wore those glasses on purpose, didn't you?" She realized Klein didn't even need glasses. He'd just faked it all along. Whitney thought, 'Klein is so sneaky. Klein cleared his throat and said, "My eyes were itchy back then." "Whitney, don't try to change the subject. We're not done talking about that man yet!" Klein said. "Alright, he's just my new assistant.
He saw me juggling all that baby stuff and, you know, being pregnant, so he helped carry them downstairs. I was just teasing you," Whitney said, grinning. Klein was speechless. "Seriously, why couldn't they assign you a girl instead?" Klein muttered under his breath. Whitney blinked playfully at him. "Wow, Mr. Harris, you're so over-the-top!" Klein pursed his lips, feeling all jealous, but worried he'd come off as too possessive and upset Whitney, so he held back. Night fell. Chapter 214 Her Male Assistant Somehow, Klein's towel had slipped off.
Worried about putting any pressure on her belly, he scooped Whitney onto his lap for a kiss. Whitney felt his kisses fall on her in a rush, one after another. The fire between them flared up in an instant, spreading like wildfire. Ever since Whitney got pregnant, Klein had always held back when he kissed her, keeping things gentle and careful. Tonight, though, all that restraint went out the window. "Klein..." Whitney whispered, her voice trembling. Klein just pretended not to hear her. His kisses grew hotter, trailing lower and lower.
Whitney, suddenly anxious about her pregnancy, tried to push him away. "Klein, wait, the babies! We can't risk hurting the babies!" Klein, breathing heavily, reassured her, "I promise, I won't hurt the babies. I'm not going all the way." 'What kind of shameless talk is that?' Whitney thought, her face burning with embarrassment. "Klein..." Whitney whispered, her voice trembling. Whitney was shaking all over from his kisses, her voice shaky. Klein only let her go when she was completely worn out from crying.
After all that, Klein smugly thought to himself, 'Bet she won't be calling her male assistant handsome anymore after tonight.' 3/3 Subscribed 3 Likes admin
