Chapter 201 You Would've Fallen For Me? Chapter 201 You Would've Fallen For Me? Even after the bonfire party ended, Whitney couldn't shake off her unease. Valerie asked if she wanted to watch the moon and stars together, since there was supposed to be a meteor shower tonight. Whitney shook her head and turned her down. She went back to her tent, racking her brain and going over every memory she could think of. There was no way she'd ever secretly dated Klein back in high school. Honestly, it might sound a little cruel, but Carter really was Whitney's first love.
[Come over to my tent.] It was a message from Klein. Whitney quietly lifted her tent flap, glanced around to make sure no one was nearby, and then slipped quickly into Klein's tent. The moment she stepped inside, Klein wrapped her up in his arms. "Your tent is huge compared to mine!" Whitney said, a little amazed. Klein grinned. "Of course. Had it custom-made a few days ago, with a king-sized bed and everything." Klein had a massive sleeping bag in his tent. "Alright, spill it. What's the deal with your first love?" Whitney demanded, putting on her best serious face and pointing at Klein.
She needed answers. Klein took her delicate finger into his mouth, his tongue playfully teasing her fingertip, making her heart skip a beat. It was just one finger, but Whitney couldn't help blushing. "Do you remember that game you played by the lake during your sophomore summer holiday in high school?" Klein asked, his voice low and teasing. Whitney's eyes widened in shock. "You..." she stammered, her voice barely above a whisper. "You're... Sinny?" she blurted out, her heart pounding. "Silly, it's literally my name and yours put together.
You seriously didn't get it?" Klein teased, warmth in his voice. Whitney was totally floored. She'd always been the perfect girl, her grandma's pride and joy, her teachers' star student. But even so, her dad had never showed her any special affection. Whitney just wanted to do everything right, hoping for even a hint of approval from Samuel. When she turned seventeen, no matter how high her grades were, Samuel still wouldn't acknowledge her efforts. For the first time, Whitney felt the urge to rebel.
So she'd spent that whole summer break purposely ignoring her homework and getting completely obsessed with an online game, lost in it for an entire month. She even became the in-game soulmate of the top player on the wealth leaderboard,a man called Sinny. Honestly, they barely talked at all. Whitney was in a pretty bad mood back then, and she only paired up with him to clear the couple quests and score that legendary gear. Whitney remembered that every time she logged in, if she saw his avatar lit up, she'd always be the first to message him.
[" You there?"] And Sinny's reply was always the same, short and to the point. [Yes.] Then they'd teleport to the instance map and just grind the same quest together, over and over. But one day, Whitney finally got over it. When the weld-on/slinkininstalled the game. Successfully unlocked! On her last login, Whitney messaged Sinny. [I'n. tone with the wants Go find yourself a new partner.] And after that, Whitney never logged into that account again. 1/3 Chapter 201 You Would've Fallen For Me? Whitney looped her arms around Klein's neck, her voice soft.

"Did you know it was me all along?" His eyes were bright as he said, "Yeah." Of course he knew. His username was literally a blend of their names. Whitney hesitated, her voice soft. "Did you like me back then?" As expected, Klein didn't even hesitate. "Yeah." Whitney hugged him tighter, nuzzling into the crook of his neck. "Why didn't you ever tell me? If you'd said something sooner, maybe..." "Maybe you would've fallen for me first?" Klein teased. Klein gave a wry smile. "Whitney, you weren't even an adult back then.
Who could've guessed the girl I'd been waiting for would get swept away by someone else in the blink of an eye?" Just like James said, Klein always stuck to the rules he believed in. But this was the one thing he couldn't help but regret every time it crossed his mind. If he'd shown up before Carter got engaged to her, would Whitney have chosen him instead? That was a question no one could answer, not even Whitney herself. If it hadn't been for yesterday's game, Klein never would've planned to tell Whitney about his little secret.
"Honey, I love you a little more today," Whitney murmured, her voice soft and sweet. Klein raised his eyebrows, teasing, "Only a little?" Whitney closed her eyes, her long lashes fluttering as she leaned in and kissed him. Klein let her take control, savoring her initiative as well as the way her lips and tongue explored him. In the cramped tent, the sounds of their bodies entwined were unmistakable. It was enough to make one blush. Just as Klein's fingers slid down Whitney's back, her phone suddenly rang. Both of them jumped in surprise.
Whitney scrambled to grab her buzzing phone from her pocket, and saw Valerie's name on the screen. "Hey, Whitney, where are you? You're not in your tent. I was planning to take some photos with you," Valerie said. Whitney stammered, "Oh, Valerie, I'm in the bathroom. I'm not feeling well today. I'm afraid I won't be joining you guys." Klein, being a little devil, nibbled on Whitney's earlobe, his tongue teasing the curve of her ear. Whitney's breath hitched, and she pinched her thigh hard, barely managing to keep herself from making a sound.
*Valerie, my dog kept me up last night, so I barely slept. You guys go have fun. I'll see you tomorrow," Whitney said, trying to play it off. "Alright then," Valerie said, a little disappointed. "See you tomorrow." Valerie paused. Since when did Whitney have a dog? After hanging up, Whitney was both embarrassed and annoyed. "Klein, are you a dog or what?" "Woof!" Klein barked, not missing a beat. After that first time, Klein realized he actually kind of enjoyed playing the puppy for her. "Baby, just sleep here with me tonight.
I can't get any rest without you," Klein said, rubbing his head against her like a puppy. Whitney kept shoving his head away, his soft hair making her neck itch. "Cut it out, Klein. If anyone catches us, I'm toast." "Relax, no one's gonna catch us. We've got someone on lookout," Klein replied, totally at ease. Whitney froze. Ryan sneezed hard, threw on a jacket, and went out to lock up Whitney's tent with a safety lock so no one would realize she was gone. He rubbed his sore nose and headed back to his own tent. 'Man, being an assistant is rough; Ryan thought to himself.
Out here on a dark, windy night, getting hit with all this lovey-dovey stuff was torture. ***** 2/3 Chapter 201 You Would've Fallen For Me? That night, the two of them curled up together in the tent. Klein rested his hand on Whitney's soft belly, giving it a gentle rub. 'Someday, our baby's gonna be right here. Kinda wild to think about, huh?" Whitney didn't even bother opening her eyes and just moved his hand away. "Not yet, mister. You can touch all you want when there's actually a baby in there." Klein held her close, totally content just having her in his arms.
No way he'd actually try anything out here, not with his whole team camped nearby. He cared about Whitney way too much to risk it. Still, Klein had to admit that sneaking around like this was kinda exciting. He was already scheming up ideas for next year's company retreat, even in his dream. Whitney woke up to the sound of birds chirping outside. Their chatter was so close, and it felt like they were right by her ear, and she could even catch glimpses of their shadows darting across the tent. Whitney peeked out through a small gap in the tent. No one was around, just as she'd hoped.
She pulled on her jacket and quietly slipped out of Klein's tent. She took a deep breath of the crisp morning air. It was just what she needed to feel whole again. At five in the morning, Whitney was up on the viewing deck, the go-to spot for catching the sunrise. She'd never actually seen a sunrise before, so this was a rare chance to watch nature's magic unfold. She just stood there, quietly gazing out at the horizon. More and more people started showing up, all heading in the same direction. Klein strolled over, looking totally at ease, and stood right beside Whitney.
A crisp shutter sound rang out from behind them. Klein turned around, his eyes flashing coldly. The HR guy's heart leapt into his throat. "Sorry, Mr. Harris, I'll delete it right away. I just thought you two looked so perfect together, so I snapped a quick photo, just messing around with my camera," the guy stammered. Klein walked over, grabbed the camera the guy handed him, and nodded. "Nice shot." The employee let out a sigh of relief. "Just send it to me, no pay cut this time, I promise," Klein joked. The employee was left speechless. 3/3 Subscribed 3 Likes admin
