Chapter 122 Their wedding photos were released even before the show aired. Klein didn't even bother to pick and choose. He wanted every single shot. Out of all the photos, Whitney's favorite was definitely the candid shots of them watching the blue tears. The vibe was just perfect. Whitney thought, 'So this is what blue tears look like. No wonder they look so magical with a filter. "This one, this one, this one, and this one. Enlarge them all!" Klein said, enthusiastically pointing at the photos. Whitney's mouth twitched.
"Are you seriously planning to blow up that many and hang them all up?" "What else would I do?" Klein raised an eyebrow. "Living room, dining room, master bedroom on the second floor, guest room, third-floor terrace, my study, your study... hmm..." Klein paused to think. "Looks like even four won't be enough!" With a dramatic wave of his hand, he picked out another seven or eight photos and declared to the photographer, "Enlarge every single one of them!" Whitney decided to keep quiet. It was clear that nothing she said would change Klein's mind.
Klein, satisfied, saved every single photo to his phone. Klein created a WhatsApp group and named it "Adult Content". Then he invited Eric, Dustin, and Oliver into the group. Eric: [Wait, am I seeing this right? Klein, is this really you, or did someone hijack your account?] Dustin: [Hold up, I've got a bad feeling about this.] Oliver: [ Ditto!] Sure enough, Klein spammed the group with a dozen wedding photos, leaving the three guys totally speechless. Klein: [Me and my wife's wedding pics. You guys got anything like this?] Dustin: [...] Eric: [...] Oliver: [ Klein, you're such a jerk!
This is basically a spam group!] Klein decided to be even more of a jerk. He unsent every single photo he'd just spammed in the group. Klein: [Just a warning. Don't even think about saving these. I'm only letting you guys admire them for a moment.] Then, after kicking the three guys out, Klein moved on to the next group. Whitney had never been added to the Harris family group chat. This time, Klein made a point of adding her, and then he started showing off all over again. He did the exact same thing as before.
James was clearly pleased, sending a voice message: [Great photos!] Lena was, of course, the most enthusiastic one. Lena: [Wow, Uncle Klein, Aunt Whitney, you two are just perfect for each other! These are gorgeous, absolutely stunning!] George and his wife added a couple of polite, slightly awkward compliments. Carter was the only one staring at his phone, a bitter ache twisting inside him. Locked in the bottom drawer of his study were the wedding photos Whitney had shredded to pieces. She hadn't just torn up the enlarged one. She hadn't left him a single photo of them together.
Carter tried scrolling through his phone, searching for any picture of the two of them, but came up empty. It was as if their past had been wiped away completely, leaving nothing behind. Frustrated, he hurled his phone to the ground, the screen shattering into pieces, as if smashing it could make those memories vanish for good. But no matter what he did, their photos and everything they once had still haunted him. He was only lying to himself. Whitney reached out and patted Klein on the arm. "Alright, that's enough. Unsend them, will you? You're really going a bit too..." "What?

Too flashy?" Klein grinned. "My wife's photos are stunning. Why can't I brag a little?" he joked. He kept teasing her, but still did as she asked and unsent the photos. He was worried that some slimy snake still lurking in the shadows might be eyeing his wife. 'No way I'm letting that creep get a look at her, Klein thought to himself. Out of all the photos, Klein picked a dreamy shot of Whitney's back as she gazed at the blue tears and set it as his profile picture. 'Beautiful, he thought, smirking in satisfaction. Oliver: [Did you see that show-off?
After spamming us with photos, he's changed his profile picture too!] Dustin: [Just bear with it. He's in that new-love phase. It's like an old house catching fire. Once it starts, it just can't stop. Showing off is totally normal.] Klein had no clue what kind of smack they were talking about him behind his back. But honestly, even if he did, he wouldn't care less. A week later, the show started filming. Whitney found that they'd set up a private lounge just for the guests. It was like the observation room had been brought right onto the set.
Whitney shot Joanne a wave from across the lounge, but her mood soured instantly when she spotted Emily, the one person guaranteed to ruin her day. Emily only landed a spot on this show thanks to Carter, but she never expected the law firm they'd end up working with would be PrimeBridge Law Firm. Emily couldn't help but think, 'Did Carter set this up just to give Whitney an edge?' Just the thought made her seethe with resentment all over again. Ivan, who knew all about the drama between Whitney and Emily, leaned over and whispered, "Whitney, steer clear of her, okay? Be careful what you say.
This is live, and you don't want to hand anyone ammo to use against you." Ivan was the one mic'd up, while Whitney didn't even need one. She was basically just there as a senior prop, barely a consultant. And honestly, she'd hardly get any airtime at all. As the director called "Action," Whitney started flipping through the intern profiles she'd been handed. There were quite a few interns this time. Out of the ten, two were actually from her alma mater. With ten interns split among four mentors, that meant a couple of them would have three interns each.
Just from the resumes, that Harvard Law grad totally stole the spotlight. She was 24 years old, crazy talented, and basically a well-rounded prodigy. The other nine were also pretty impressive. Almost all of them had studied in top universities around the world. Whitney had never gone overseas herself; she finished her master's right here at home, and honestly, she kind of wished she'd had that experience too. On paper, all ten of these interns were way more qualified than she was. But she didn't let it bother her.
Degrees aren't everything, and she couldn't wait to see what kind of surprises these newbies would pull off. In the observation room... Fiona, a previous season's intern, grinned. "I heard this year's batch is even more intense than ours. All ten of them have overseas experience." "Seriously? That's wild!" Emily, always ready to steal the spotlight, chimed in. "Fiona, is it really that tough for law students to study abroad?" Fiona just gave a relaxed smile. "Yeah, it's pretty challenging." Emily was well aware that Whitney had never studied abroad.
"Oh, I wonder if that woman who looked like their mentor ever studied abroad?" Emily said, pretending to sound all innocent. Joanne shot back, "PrimeBridge Law Firm is top five in the country. If she's here, she's obviously got what it takes." Emily just smiled, knowing Joanne was backing Whitney, so she dropped it. What really caught Emily off guard was that she'd bumped Joanne off the roster, yet Joanne still managed to show up for the filming. Recalling that party where they'd run into each other, Emily instantly remembered who was bankrolling Joanne. And she couldn't help but sneer.
'Seriously, she's nothing but a pampered canary,' Emily rolled her eyes inwardly. "Ahem, Emily is such a stunner!" "Look at you, Joanne! You're really going places, even making it onto a show like this!" "That lawyer girl is drop-dead gorgeous. Oh my, I think I'm in love." "But honestly, these pretty girls are just chatting about nothing, lol." "Can we get less of the observation room? There are so many female guests this time, it just feels off!
Give the interns more screen time!" 55 youchers Dex Morgan Dex Morgan works to elevate each story with clean writing, emotional balance, and thoughtful flow for readers.
