Chapter 105 Whitney strode out so fast she didn't even bother to look at Carter. The party was totally wrecked, but no one in the private room dared to step in. All because Klein was standing by the door, his presence like a dark cloud. He didn't say a word and just swept his cold, indifferent gaze over the crowd, sending chills down everyone's spine. As Whitney walked out, Klein said with a faint smile, "Do your hands hurt? Next time, let the bodyguards. handle the splashing." Everyone in the room gasped. 'Next time?' The thought made their hearts skip a beat.
Carter's eyes reddened as he struggled to keep his composure. What hurt him the most was that Whitney, who had once only had eyes for him, now acted like he was just another stranger. "Carter..." someone spoke up cautiously, their voice barely above a whisper. With the place a total mess and two women whimpering, they just wanted to get out of there. The only sounds in the room were the women's sobs and Carter's ragged breathing. His chest felt tight, and he needed to vent. His sinister eyes turned to the two drenched women.
His voice was cold and harsh as he demanded, "What did you two just do?" "Carter, we didn't do anything! Whitney's the one who lost her mind. Who knows what's gotten into her? And this is my brand-new couture dress!" Tina snapped, her voice brimming with anger. "Carter, you can't just buy into her crap just because she somehow tricked Uncle Klein into marrying her!" Tina argued. "Shut up!" Carter barked, his voice full of irritation. "Idiot!" Then, with cold eyes, Carter turned to Emily. "Emily, your turn. Tell me what happened," he said coldly. Emily bit her lips, her face pale as paper.
That bucket of water was freezing, but Carter's words cut even deeper, like ice straight to the bone. 'Is he seriously grilling me over Whitney now?' Emily thought, her heart sinking. "Carter, you don't trust me?" Emily asked, her voice trembling. Carter kept his face cold, refusing to respond. The atmosphere in the private room was tense. Someone couldn't help but try to smooth things over. "Come on, Carter, you should get Whitney home before she catches a cold." His eyes dropped, and only then did he realize the thin, soaked fabric was clinging to her skin, almost see- through.
If no one had pointed it out, he wouldn't have even noticed that some horny trust fund brat was staring at her. Carter shrugged off his jacket and threw it over Emily, shielding her from prying eyes. "Home. Now," he ordered, his voice low and commanding. No matter how furious he was, this wasn't the place to talk about it. Whitney felt totally refreshed after venting, like a weight had finally lifted off her shoulders. "Thanks, Klein," she said, her voice light and grateful. Klein smiled, playful and a little mysterious. "I helped you out just now.
Isn't it your turn to do something for me?" he asked. Before she could even process his words, his long arm wrapped around her waist, pulling her in close. Whitney widened her eyes in shock, only to meet his gaze. His eyes were sparkling with obvious amusement, and a hint of something more. "Baby, it's your time to shine," Klein teased, his voice low and playful. This was the third time he'd called her baby tonight. Whitney blushed. "Okay," she murmured, her voice soft and a little flustered.

Oliver had just finished singing the song "Shallow" when Klein walked into the private room, with his arm casually around Whitney's waist. Oliver clicked his tongue and said, "Well, Klein, where'd you two sneak off to for so long?" An entire hour had passed before they finally came back. Dustin was a bit more observant than Oliver. He'd been right behind the couple when they left, and he distinctly remembered Whitney was wearing a different dress earlier. 'Did she really change outfits just from a bathroom trip?' Dustin wondered, suspicion creeping in. 'No way... Was Klein really that horny?
Did they actually get it on in the bathroom?' Dustin thought, eyes widened in disbelief. Dustin and Felix exchanged a look, and then both pulled out their phones at the same time. [Dustin: Look at that big dummy, still mouthing off over there. He better watch out or Klein's gonna kick his ass.] [Eric: Yeah, an hour. Take out the time for changing, so Klein probably only lasted half an hour tops.] [Dustin: That's still too long. My guess? Fifteen minutes, max.] [Eric: Makes sense. First time and all.] Klein couldn't even be bothered to answer Oliver.
'Why waste words on a man who can't even land a girlfriend?' he thought, rolling his eyes. He wandered over to the karaoke machine, his long fingers swiping lazily across the screen. Whitney couldn't help but smirk. She had never thought Klein would actually bother picking a song himself. But the next second, Whitney realized she'd overestimated him. Klein called out, "Dustin, you're single. Who are you texting?" Dustin jumped, quickly flipping his phone face down on the couch.
Klein narrowed his eyes and said lazily,"Come over here and pick a song for me." Whitney just stared, lost for words. Dustin froze. "Okay, what do you wanna sing, Klein?" Dustin asked, still looking lost. Honestly, not just Whitney, even Dustin had never heard Klein sing. Like, ever. Every time they hit up the club, Klein had never sung, and he wouldn't even let anyone else turn up the volume. If anyone asked why, he'd just ice them out with a cold answer, "You suck." Klein raised his eyebrows and said, "Put on 'My Heart Will Go On' for me, will you?" Oliver was speechless.
"Hold up, Klein, I just got dumped! You really wanna sing this song right now? And it's a love song duet!" Oliver blurted out, still reeling from his breakup. 'You sure you even know what this song means?' he wondered. Klein handed Whitney a mic, flashing her a playful look. "Sing with me." he said. ***** 'Can I say no?' Whitney thought, feeling a bit flustered. "Baby, it's your time to shine." Klein's words were still ringing in her ears. EL 50 VOUtners voubner 'So that's what he meant by "time to shine"? Seriously?' Whitney couldn't help but feel a little helpless.
'Well, guess I've got no choice,' she sighed. Whitney took the mic, a wave of nostalgia washing over her. She'd sung this song before, back in college, at the campus singing competition. Her duet partner had been the class president. They'd ended up taking third place, not bad at all. Whitney couldn't help but wonder how Klein was so sure she'd know this old song. As the familiar tune started playing, Whitney felt like she was right back in that summer, but this time, everything felt different.
When the song ended, Whitney said with a soft, surprised smile, "You're a good singer." He'd hit every note, to her genuine surprise. Klein had no clue that her "good" actually meant he could really sing. "Well, not bad, I guess." Klein boasted, throwing in a jab for good measure. "Still can't hold a candle to you, but definitely better than that poor man nursing his breakup." Whitney smiled awkwardly. 'Are we really roasting him like this?' she thought. She glanced over at Oliver, and he looked seriously pissed. But then again, he was the one who did Joanne dirty.
Any sympathy Whitney had for him vanished in an instant. Oliver just sat there, dead inside, listening to their perfect duet and then hurriedly bumped his own solo ballad to the top of the queue. Klein finally got the hang of picking songs. He covered one ear to block out Oliver's whining, and then parked himself in front of the karaoke machine, all fired up and ready to go. He went on a clicking spree, queuing up five songs in a row, all duets, all love songs.
After Klein wrapped up "I Got You Babe," he dove straight into the classic duet "The Girl Is Mine." Not to be outdone, Oliver fired back with "Love Letters," refusing to let Klein hog the spotlight. But in the end, Klein shamelessly queued up "Endless Love" and totally crushed Oliver, leaving him no chance to fight back. "That's it, I'm out! No more singing!" Oliver finally threw in the towel, totally defeated. Klein, clearly not ready to call it quits, protested, "Why stop now?" "Come on, my wife and I are basically giving you a free concert here. You sure you wanna bail?" 'Enough!
This is so shameless. Even I can't handle Klein anymore,' Whitney thought, feeling speechless. She tugged at Klein's sleeve and said, "Can we go home now? I'm really beat." Klein instantly stood up, grabbed his jacket from the couch, and said, "Okay, we're heading out. You guys enjoy the rest of your singing." Dustin and Felix just stared at each other, totally speechless. Then they both shot Oliver a glare. 'Why'd you even bring this clown? Were you just begging for a headache?' 'Seriously, you just wanted to get wrecked, huh?' they thought, shaking their heads.
