Chapter 208 He Suddenly Fell Ill Chapter 208 He Suddenly Fell III Sabrina didn't get any sympathy from Lena. She'd thought storming out would make George beg her to come back, but she ended up losing 10% of the shares. She and George had gotten into another big fight. When Whitney got home from work, she spotted Sabrina sitting at the dining table. Whitney really didn't feel like saying hello, but for James's sake, she forced herself to give a half-hearted greeting. "Hey, Sabrina," she said, her tone flat. Sabrina replied just as flatly.
Right now, Sabrina was feeling seriously jealous and resentful inside. That intense sense of imbalance was gnawing at her, and she just couldn't get over it. "Well, Whit, I heard you're pregnant. That was quick," Sabrina said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. Whitney didn't bother to respond. Less talking meant fewer chances for drama. She really didn't want anything to ruin her mood right now. Then Sabrina noticed the chef had whipped up a bunch of little dishes just for Whitney, a whole special pregnancy meal, all for her.
Seeing this, Sabrina couldn't help but comment, a little jealous, "Whit, Klein really spoils you. Back when I was expecting Carter, I never got anything like this." Whitney picked up some shrimp and said, "Sabrina, I just saw a story about a 48-year-old mom having a baby. If you really put your mind to it, Carter could still get a little brother or sister from you. Then the chef can make you a special pregnancy meal too, so you won't have to miss out next time." Sabrina's face turned livid with anger and embarrassment.
James snorted and said, "Sabrina, has George ever let you go hungry?" Sabrina didn't dare push it any further. "No, Dad, that's not what I meant." "Then shut up!" George finally snapped, unable to take it anymore. Seeing the argument about to explode again, Klein spoke up gently, "Hey, Whit's pregnant. She doesn't need all this drama. If you two wanna fight, do it upstairs." George set down his fork and gave Sabrina a glare. "Come with me." Sabrina trailed after him upstairs, looking very wronged. Whitney shook her head. 'Sabrina is always making a scene, she thought.
'If she keeps acting like this, she's going to end up breaking this family apart, she couldn't help but worry. They'd barely made it upstairs when disaster struck. ***** "Oh no! George just collapsed!" Sabrina screamed. James's heart skipped a beat. "Call an ambulance, now!" "Where's the family doctor? Go get him!" he barked. Whitney followed them upstairs. As expected, in their bedroom, George looked pale as paper. Luckily, the doctor showed up fast and started CPR right away. Ten minutes later, George finally started breathing again. The whole house was in total panic.
Whitney was freaked out too, and the ambulance showed up in no time. Klein jumped in with the paramedics and Sabrina went along with them. Klein turned to Whitney and said softly, "Baby, you and Dad should stay home." But James refused to just sit around. "I'm going to why you only a few months along. Stay here." on Successfully unlocked! The butler ended up going with James to the haculteit Klein and Sabrina rode in the ambulance. 1/3 Chapter 208 He Suddenly Fell Il Whitney didn't try to push herself and stayed home. All she could do was wait until morning to go visit George.

Whitney made sure to remind everyone, "Don't spread rumors about George being sick." Everyone just nodded and went back to what they were doing. Whitney couldn't bring herself to eat anymore. She was feeling restless and uneasy, so she shot Klein a message. [How's George doing, baby?] Half an hour later, Klein finally replied. [He's still getting emergency treatment. I might not make it home tonight.] [Dad's coming back soon. He's in a rough mood, so please be patient with him.] Whitney smirked to herself. 'Dad's not the type to blame me for random trouble like this; she thought.
Whitney curled up on the couch, waiting. It wasn't until ten o'clock that James finally came home. "Dad, how's George?" Whitney asked, her voice full of concern. James looked even more exhausted, with even more gray at his temples. "Whit, they're still trying to save him. It's his heart. What a disaster. Things have been pretty chaotic at home lately." "Dad, he'll be fine. Once George pulls through, we should go to the church to pray for him. "Whitney said gently. Whitney wanted to go too. She was going to pray for a healthy baby. "Yeah, I'm alright. You should get some sleep too.
Guess it's about time we went to the church," James said. He let out a heavy sigh. Once the butler helped James settle in for the night, Whitney finally felt a bit more at ease. She reminded the butler, "Go check on Dad every couple of hours, just in case." Whitney couldn't help but worry. James was getting older. If something happened, they might not catch it in time. Whitney just couldn't sleep, tossing and turning in bed all night. Her phone finally lit up with a message from Klein at 2 a.m. [Everything's fine. Surgery was a success, but he'll need to rest up for a while.
Don't stress.] [That's a relief. Try to grab a nap in one of the empty rooms.] Klein called her right away, and his deep voice calmed Whitney right down. "Why are you still up? Planning to skip work tomorrow?" Klein teased. Whitney shook her head and said, "I'll just take the morning off. I can't sleep when you're not here. Dad doesn't look so great either. Maybe you could text the butler, just in case. I've already asked someone to keep an eye on him, so he won't be alone when he wakes up." Klein chuckled. "I know. Just sleep, honey. I won't hang up.
I'll wait until I hear you drift off, then I'll hang up." Whitney had never tried this new way of staying on the phone while falling asleep before. "Okay," she murmured. She put the phone on speaker and set it on the nightstand. "Baby, I'm going to sleep now. You get some rest too, okay? Goodnight," Whitney said softly. "Goodnight," Klein replied softly. After about fifteen minutes, Klein finally heard Whitney's breathing even out on the other end of the phone, soft and steady. She must have fallen asleep.
He didn't hang up, and just rubbed his temples and leaned back in his chair with his eyes closed. 1 The doctor said George's recovery after surgery would take some time, and he might remain unconscious for a while. They'd check his condition in a week and, if things looked good, start cutting back on the sedatives. Klein had never really showed his feelings, unless Whitney was involved. George was the only brother he had left. He'd had two, but the other one was already gone. All Klein wanted now was for George to pull through.
Klein told Sabrina to head home, and he was pretty blunt about it. 2/3 Chapter 208 He Suddenly Fell Ill Arguing had its limits, and there was no need to bring the fight to the hospital. Not to mention, Carter wasn't even around. ***** James was up by five. Sure enough, the first thing he said was, "How's George doing at the hospital?" The butler, who'd just been lightly napping in the hallway, answered, "Mr. Harris, the surgery went well. No need to worry. It' s only five.
Klein said you should try to get some more sleep." Hearing this, James relaxed a lot, finally letting himself breathe easier. ***** Even though Whitney had warned everyone at home to keep things under wraps, the media still caught wind of it. The news that the Harris family's eldest son was in critical condition even blew up on the business news sites. Klein had the story pulled down right away, but the damage was already done, and everyone who mattered had already seen it. "Mom, do we really have to go?" "Idiot!
If you don't go now, are you planning to wait until they've split up the inheritance and then show your face?" his mom shot back. "Alright, fine," he muttered. Whitney didn't head to the hospital until after breakfast. While getting off the elevator, a stylish woman in high heels and a young man shoved their way out in a hurry. Whitney lost her balance for a second and twisted her ankle. "Ouch..." Whitney winced, frowning. "We're all getting off. What's the rush?" The woman sneered, "Please, maybe you should watch your step. You twisted your own ankle.
Don't try to play the victim here!" "Enough, Mom. Let's go. We need to get in there and stake our claim!" the young man urged, dragging her away. They rushed off, leaving Whitney to catch her breath. After a moment, she shook it off and headed toward George's ward. But when Whitney got to George's ward, she spotted that same mother-son duo from the elevator hanging around outside. 3/3 Subscribed 4 Likes admin
