Chapter 111 Every time after kissing Klein, Whitney somehow felt a little self-conscious the next day. Even though they could kiss freely now, Klein was still someone way out of her league deep down. Even though they were now officially married. Whitney was dressed and ready to go, bag in hand. "Good morning, Mrs. Harris. Mr. Harris is waiting for you in the dining room," Martin reminded her softly. Whitney paused. 'He's up this early?' she thought. It was barely past seven. She'd gotten up so early just to avoid him. "...Alright," Whitney muttered, bracing herself as she headed downstairs.
There he was, sitting in the dining room, looking completely composed, his calm gaze lingering on her. Klein greeted her with his magnetic, slightly raspy voice, "Morning." "Morning," Whitney replied. Whitney nibbled on her little steamed buns, trying to break the awkward silence. "You're up early today." ז" get up at seven every day and work out for an hour. But today, I decided to skip my morning jog, so someone wouldn't try to dodge me," Klein replied. 'Someone? He might as well just call me out, Whitney thought, rolling her eyes.
Whitney choked on her water, coughing so hard that her face flushed. Klein, acting all sly and innocent, slid over and handed her a glass of water with one hand and a paper napkin with the other. He said with a teasing smile, "Careful, take your time. We've got plenty of time." Whitney took small sips from the glass. Once she calmed down, she shot him a glare. Whitney thought, 'He really got the nerve.
I only choked because of what he said!' Turning her gaze away, she muttered under her breath, "I wasn't avoiding you." Not wanting to stick around for any more awkward small talk, she dabbed at her lips and got to her feet. "I'm full and I'm heading to work now. You take your time!" Her voice had a bit of a pout she didn't even notice herself, almost like she was low-key complaining about Klein messing with her just now. She had barely made it to the entryway when she was suddenly swept into Klein's strong, warm embrace.
Klein wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her in so close that he only had to lower his head a little and their noses would touch. "I'm not full yet," Klein said, his voice low and teasing. Whitney twisted in his arms, pouting, "If you're still hungry, then go back and eat..." But before she could finish her sentence, Klein loomed over her, and captured her chattering lips with perfect precision. Her lips were sealed by his kiss. That deep kiss left Whitney utterly defenseless. Her whole body went soft, melting into his warm embrace.
Klein finally let her go, looking thoroughly satisfied. He gently brushed his thumb over her kiss-reddened lips and said, "Now I'm full." "Head to work, and drive safe," Klein said, his tone gentle and caring. Whitney had no idea how she managed to make it out of the villa. Sitting in the driver's seat, she found her heart pounding like crazy. 'He's just too good at this. I don't stand a chance against him,' Whitney thought, feeling completely outmatched. 'Was he really as abstinent as he claimed?
Even if he hasn't dated, there must have been plenty of women chasing after him,' Whitney couldn't help but wonder. Whitney couldn't help but wonder if she could really keep her heart in check and walk away unscathed from this marriage. Or maybe she'd just end up falling for another beautiful lie, lost in a dream that was too good to be true. Feeling satisfied, Klein grabbed his things and headed off to work. Martin watched with a smile as Whitney and Klein left one after the other, and then cheerfully went back to clear the table.
'Looks like there'll be a baby joining the family before long!' Martin thought to himself. At ten o'clock, James showed up at the villa. James sat down on the couch with a huff, eyeing all the changes in his son's place. The once cold black, white, and gray decor had been transformed, now giving off a distinctly feminine vibe. He shot Martin a sideways look and said, "Is all this that girl's handiwork?" Martin, not wanting to upset James, replied, "Yes, Mr.

Harris, Whitney did make a few changes." "Are they really turning this place into their newlywed nest?" James scoffed, clearly not impressed. Chapter 111 Martin paused, keeping his tone neutral, "Looks like it." James strolled upstairs with his hands behind his back. When he saw a pile of Klein's clothes in the guest room, he couldn't help but scoff, "So, they're not sharing a bed?" Martin rubbed his nose, and said, "Mr. Harris, Klein said he's holding off until after the wedding.
He'll be staying in the master bedroom once the ceremony's done." "Well, he's playing the gentleman now, huh?" James snorted. He huffed, adding. "Everyone knows he's a sly fox!" If he were really a gentleman, he wouldn't be eyeing his nephew's fiancée!' James thought, furning "Martin, you're one of the old hands in this household. You've been looking after Klein since he was little. Make sure you keep an eye on him and give him a nudge when he needs it," James said. "He's thirty-three already. It's high time he had a kid," James added.
"Who says you can't have a baby before the wedding?" James grumbled. "Whatever, it's no use talking to you. I'll go deal with him myself!" With that, James walked out of the villa, shaking his head in exasperation. Martin saw James off to the car, secretly thinking, 'Is James really worried Klein can't have kids?' ***** Klein had no clue his father was questioning him behind his back like that. He glanced at the ring that had arrived this morning, its sparkle catching the light. He was pretty pleased with "Ryan, cancel all my appointments tonight. Don't let anyone call me after five.
That includes you," Klein said. Ryan instantly understood what was up. 'Looks like Klein wants some real private time tonight,' he thought. No sooner had Whitney arrived at the law firm than Ivan cornered her for some questions. "Whitney, something's been bugging me since last night. I know you got married, but did you have a wedding?" Ivan asked, sounding suspicious. Whitney gave an awkward little shake of her head, looking embarrassed. "Not yet." she said. "Well, did you guys get your own place yet? Did you sort out a wedding plan and all that stuff?
Wasn't getting married a bit too quick?" Ivan pressed. "Boss, they've already got a place, and my dad's pretty happy with it. The wedding plan and everything are all sorted out. You really don't have to worry," Whitney assured him. Sometimes, Whitney felt like Ivan was more like her father than her boss. But she just couldn't bring herself to tell him the truth. No matter how amazing Klein was, if Ivan ever found out she was only marrying him to climb the social ladder, he'd probably be pretty disappointed.
So, instead of making him worry, she figured it was better to keep him in the dark and spare him the unnecessary stress. Ivan wasn't too happy with her vague answer and let out a long sigh. "Don't blame me for nagging, but getting married is kinda like picking a job. You gotta think twice, maybe three times. If you hate your job, you can quit anytime. But if you end up with the wrong husband, trust me, that's a way bigger headache" he said. "I know, Boss," Whitney said. "Honestly, he's ticking all the boxes for now, and I'm pretty satisfied. No plans to trade him in just yet.
But if I ever change my mind, you might need to hook me up with some top-notch divorce lawyers then," Whitney joked. "Watch your tongue! Don't jinx it! You haven't even had the wedding and you're talking about a divorce," Ivan shot back with a smile. Seeing Ivan finally crack a smile, Whitney finally felt relieved. Later that afternoon, Ivan stopped by Harris Group and caught up with Calvin in his office for a bit. "Did you run into Mr. Harris the other day?" Calvin asked. "Yeah, Calvin, bet you didn't expect that, huh? It turned out he's actually pretty easygoing.
We even sat down and had dinner together," Ivan replied. Of course, Ivan kept his mouth shut about Klein and Felix going head-to-head that day. Calvin immediately caught on. "Oh, looks like you're really taking Ms. Moore under your wing, Mr. Walton. Bringing her to an event like that, trying to boost her up, huh?" Ivan waved it off, but inside he was grumbling, 'What's with Calvin suddenly being so nosy about my protégé?' So Ivan played it up, saying, "Honestly, I was just trying to play matchmaker for Whitney. I know this young prosecutor who's single and thought they'd hit it off.
But Whitney got married without telling me!" "She got married?" Calvin echoed, surprised. "Yeah, can you believe it? Kids these days are so gutsy. They barely knew each other and just got hitched. She kept me in the dark the whole time," Ivan said, shaking his head. "But you know, Whitney's got the looks. She's young, smart, and capable. It's only natural that men are interested in her. Wouldn't you say so, Calvin?" Ivan said, giving him a knowing look. "Absolutely." Calvin chuckled, and then casually fished for more info, "So, did Ms.
Moore ever mention what her husband does for a living?" Ivan couldn't help but think, 'Man, Calvin's really persistent. So he played it up, saying, "She didn't say much. But far as I know, he's doing pretty well. The house and car are both in Whitney's name, and I heard the wedding gifts were pretty generous. Her father couldn't be happier." Standing just outside Calvin's office, Klein couldn't help but smirk. 'So that's what she tells people about me when I'm not around?' Klein thought, feeling both amused and a little proud. Calvin forced a smile and said, "Yeah, that's... great.
Really great." "Whitney's crazy about her husband, I swear. I just told her to watch out and not get played, and guess what? She actually snapped at me!" Ivan said, shaking his head. "Honestly, once a girl gets married, she'd better stay sharp. These days many men are smooth talkers. But did she ever listen? Nope," Ivan sighed. "I mean, I can't say much more, but I'll definitely keep an eye out. If her husband ever dares to treat her wrong, he'll have to answer to me first!" Ivan added, sounding fiercely protective. Klein couldn't help but grin from ear to ear.
'Ivan's not bad at all,' Klein mused. He made a note of it in his mind. "Mr. Harris, here to see Mr. Malone?" Calvin's assistant spotted Klein standing outside the office, froze for a moment, and then asked in a low voice. The office door was half open, and Calvin, always quick to notice, immediately got up to greet him. Catching the knowing look in Klein's eyes, he forced a smile and said, "Oh, Mr. Harris, didn't expect to see you here." "Just wanted to check on the project. Oh, Mr. Walton, you're here too. Don't mind me. You two carry on," Klein said casually.
Ivan jumped to his feet, looking a bit flustered. "Hello, Mr. Harris!" he greeted. Calvin and Ivan watched as Klein, with that easy smile on his face, just strolled out looking totally relaxed. "Calvin, who knew Mr. Harris could be so easygoing? He even gave us a smile just now," Ivan said, sounding genuinely surprised. Calvin blinked, not sure what to say. 'No wonder he's grinning. Ivan just spent the whole time hyping him up. He couldn't be happier,' Calvin thought. 1:4 Chapter 111 'How does Ivan get so lucky? Ile manages to score points with Klein without even trying, Calvin mused.
'Unbelievable!' Calvin thought, shaking his head. 田 AD Comment Send gift No Ads ㄠˊ Dex Morgan Dex Morgan works to elevate each story with clean writing, emotional balance, and thoughtful flow for readers.
