Chapter 104 Whitney knew she was about to meet Klein's friends. She didn't want to embarrass him, so she picked out a classy blue dress. The velvet blue made her skin look even fairer. With just a swipe of lipstick and minimal makeup, she was so stunningly beautiful. But to her embarrassment, she could feel that her time of the month was coming, so she told Klein to go in first while she slipped off to the bathroom. Just as she sat down to make sure her outfit was okay, she heard the door lock from outside. Whitney frowned, sensing something was off.

When she tried the handle, she found the stall door wouldn't budge. "Who's out there?" Whitney called out, her voice sharp. But no one replied. She could only hear the soft shuffle of footsteps outside. Just as she reached for her phone, she realized Klein had taken her bag, and her phone was in the bag. Whitney sized up the height of the stall. She figured if she stood on the toilet, she might just be able to climb out. But before she could make a move, suddenly, a bucket of ice-cold water came crashing down from above, drenching her from head to toe.

Then she heard hurried footsteps rushing away. She was soaked through, her hair dripping and her dress clinging to her body, shivering as the cold seeped into her bones. 'They're already gone,' Whitney thought, realizing the culprit had slipped away. Meanwhile, in the private room, Oliver spotted Klein and said with a grin, "Klein, you finally showed up!" "You know the rules. If you're late, you gotta down a drink!" Klein raised his eyebrows and gave the shiny clutch in his hand a little shake. "Sorry, I'm not drinking tonight." he said.

Oliver shot Klein a look, and said with a frown, "Klein, that's weak. We said no girlfriends tonight, remember?" Klein snorted and said slowly, "You said no girlfriends, but you never said anything about wives." Oliver muttered, 'How shameless!' But since Whitney was already here, he couldn't just kick her out now. "Where's Whitney?" Oliver asked. Klein glanced at his watch. 'It's been over ten minutes. What's taking her so long?' he wondered.

He set the bag down and strode out, saying, "I'll go check on her." Inside the bathroom, Whitney's voice was getting raw as she yelled, "Is anyone out there? Can someone please open the door?" But the music in the lounge was so loud that her cries for help were barely audible. When shouting didn't work, Whitney resorted to kicking the door over and over. Bang! Klein heard the dull thuds coming from the women's bathroom. He twisted the handle and called out, "Baby, are you in there?" Hearing Klein's voice, Whitney felt like she'd just found her savior. "Honey, I'm in here!" she shouted back.

She was so relieved that she didn't even realize what she'd just called him. Klein's gaze grew intense as he marched straight toward Whitney's voice. "Baby, which stall are you in?" he called out. "The second one!" Whitney shouted back. Klein caught her voice and spotted a mop jammed against the door. He quickly kicked it aside and reassured her softly, "Baby, try the door. You should be able to get out now." Whitney unlocked the door. Before she knew it, she was in Klein's arms, clinging to him as soon as she saw his familiar face. "What took you so long?

I was calling forever and nobody answered!" Whitney complained, her voice soft and sweet, almost like she was being a little spoiled. A rush of heat pooled in Klein's belly. He swallowed and said, "I'm sorry I was late." Klein steadied her by the shoulders, scanning her from head to toe. "Who did this to you?" he asked. Whitney shook her head and said, "I have no idea. Whoever did it never said a thing." She looked down at her drenched dress and dripping hair. "Now what am I supposed to do?" she said.

'No way I'm meeting his friends looking like this,' Whitney thought, cringing with embarrassment. Klein gently brushed her messy hair away from her face. "I'll get someone to bring you some clean clothes. Why don't you freshen up a bit? I don't want you catching a cold." In the club's luxury suite, Klein could hear the steady stream of water coming from the bathroom, and he couldn't help but swallow hard. He leaned back on the couch, eyes shut, trying to calm himself down.

But with his shirt still damp and the feel of her soft body pressed up against him just moments ago, Klein couldn't shake the heat simmering inside. A wicked, possessive urge flashed through his mind. He wanted to hold her so tight she'd never get away, to claim her completely. And she'd called him honey just now? His heart melted thinking about it. The sound of running water gradually faded, and then stopped. "Klein, are the clothes here yet?" Whitney called out. Klein opened his eyes, picked up the clothes with his slender fingers and walked to the bathroom door.

He said in a low and hoarse voice, "Here they are. Open up." Whitney carefully cracked the door open just a sliver, her fair-skinned soft hand reaching out. "Thanks, Klein. Just hand it over." she said. As he passed her the white dress, his fingertips brushed against her wrist, making her shiver and instinctively pull back. Klein's eyes burned with a dark, hungry look, the urge to just grab her and never let go getting completely out of hand. He smirked, his voice low and teasing, "Why'd you stop calling me honey?" Whitney's hand shot back inside, and the bathroom door slammed shut.

She didn't answer him. Whitney clutched the dress to her chest, her heart pounding like crazy. 'When did I call him honey?' Whitney thought, totally thrown off. 'Oh god, was it just now when he called me baby? Did I blurt it out without thinking?' She blushed in embarrassment. 'If I really said it by accident, then what about Klein?' 'This is the second time he's called me baby!' Whitney realized, blushing even more. Whitney lingered in the bathroom for ages before finally stepping out, unable to bring herself to meet Klein's eyes. "All set?" Klein asked.

Whitney nodded and said, "Yeah,." She acted like she hadn't heard his teasing, and Klein didn't push it any further. "I had someone pull up the security footage," Klein said. Whitney's eyes went cold. "Who did it?" she asked. Tina and Emily were feeling pretty smug after what they'd just done. Emily felt a lot lighter. Most of her frustration had finally eased up. "Tina, do you think she'll come looking for us later?" Emily asked, a hint of worry in her voice. Tina snorted and said, "Please, Emily. Not a chance.

Who knows, maybe she's still in there, dripping wet and begging for someone to save her." "But why is she at Royal Crest tonight?" Emily muttered. "Who is here?" Carter asked, his voice low and a little slurred from the booze. Emily's heart skipped a beat. "Oh, no one!" she said hurriedly. Just then, the door to the private room was flung open. Carter's eyes lit up and he shot to his feet. "Whitney, what are you doing here?" he asked. His mood instantly brightened and he continued, "Did you come to see me?" But when he saw who was standing behind Whitney, his grin froze.

"Wait, Uncle Klein, you're here too?" Carter exclaimed. Whitney didn't even spare Carter a glance. Fueled by pure adrenaline, she snatched the bucket from the bodyguard and stormed straight toward Tina and Emily. Tina's face went pale. "Whit, what the hell are you doing?" she panicked. Emily glared at her and said, "Whitney, you look ready to explode. Are you about to throw hands again?" With a loud splash, Whitney dumped half a bucket of water straight over their heads, drenching them from head to toe. "Mrs.

Harris, there's more," the bodyguard chimed in, helpfully handing her another bucket. Another splash! This time, Tina and Emily were left completely soaked, not a single dry spot on them. CEFITS Tina screamed, "Whitney, have you lost your mind?!" Whitney scoffed, "Funny, you didn't care if I'd snap when you dumped water on me." "Tina, I'm warning you both. Next time you mess with me, it won't just be cold water," Whitney said coldly. 田 AD Comment Send gift No Ads Dex Morgan Dex Morgan works to elevate each story with clean writing, emotional balance, and thoughtful flow for readers.
