Chapter 193 Chapter 193 While Emily was busy hunting for a new nanny, Whitney was already starting to get suspicious about who Cupcake's real father was. The fired nanny made a special trip to find Whitney and vent her frustrations. "Mrs. Harris, you're a lawyer. Can you help me out? Emily is just unbelievable. She barely pays attention to Cupcake, but keeps dragging him out into the cold for photos just to keep up appearances. Cupcake got sick because of it, and now Emily's blaming me, even accusing me of stealing her necklace. Mrs. Harris, can I sue her for slander?" the nanny complained.
Whitney couldn't help but chuckle, feeling a bit helpless. "Sorry, it's not that I don't want to help. For slander to count legally, the defamatory info has to be viewed or clicked at least five thousand times. If she's just making accusations in person and not actually spreading it, it doesn't meet the requirements for slander." The nanny was still furious. "So what am I supposed to do?
Just let them talk trash about me and get away with it?" Whitney said, "Well, since you and Emily had an employment contract, if she fired you without a valid reason, you can ask her for compensation." The nanny slapped her thigh. "We did sign a contract! It was supposed to be for a year, and it's only been six months. There's still four or five months left." "No problem. It's actually pretty easy to handle on your phone. I'll send you the steps," Whitney assured her. "Thank you, Mrs. Harris. You're so kind and beautiful, nothing like Emily. She's got a black heart! Mrs.
Harris, I've worked for so many families, but she's by far the weirdest mom I've ever met. Sometimes I wonder if she's even Cupcake's real mother," the nanny grumbled. Whitney thought to herself, 'She might be the real mom, but maybe the dad's a whole different story. After seeing the nanny off, Whitney gave Klein a call. After hearing everything, Klein just went quiet. "Honey, looks like Carter's really been cheated on..." Whitney said. Klein kept his poker face, secretly thrilled, but made sure Whitney didn't catch on. "Give me a couple days, I'll get the paternity test sorted.
Results should be out in two days," Klein replied. Whitney smiled. "Sounds good." She wondered how Emily would react when those results dropped. Whitney thought she just had to wait for the results, but out of nowhere, a special client showed up. When she saw the blond, blue-eyed foreigner in the meeting room, she was instantly speechless. If life were a drama, she felt like she was living in one every single day. The man's name was Tony Green, "Ms. Moore, I just found out my one-night stand secretly had a baby. She's a local here. Can I get custody of my child?" Tony asked.

16:33 Thu, Jan 1MD Chapter 193 Whitney tried to stay professional, "Well, in theory, you can fight for custody. So you two were never married, right?" 057 Tony looked genuinely aggrieved. "Yeah! I'm single, but my one-night stand secretly got married! And her husband actually thinks my kid is his own." "I tried to talk to her about it, but she wouldn't listen. She even just pretended she didn't know me! That's just too much!" Tony complained. Whitney thought, 'Yeah, that's seriously messed up!' Emily had pulled so many stunts that it was honestly hard to keep track.
Whitney figured, 'Looks like we don't even need a paternity test. "Mr. Green, as part of the routine questions, how old is your child?" Whitney asked. "Not even a year old," Tony replied. "By law here, if the child's under two, custody almost always goes to the mother, unless there's something unusual going on," Whitney explained. "What kind of situation would count as unusual?" Tony asked. "If the kid can't grow up in a normal environment, then the court might give custody to the dad. Like if the mom's really sick, or there's abuse, or anything else that's bad for the kid," Whitney said.
Tony looked disappointed. "Guess I'll just have to wait, or maybe come back and sue in two years." "Mind if I ask what you do for work?" Whitney asked. Tony gave a humble smile. "I'm a stylist." He did look like one. That night, Whitney went home and told Klein all the juicy gossip she'd heard during the day. "Klein, your family's drama is straight out of a soap opera," Whitney teased. Klein shot her a look. "Honey, you and I are a family. That's their mess, not ours." "Alright, go get some hair from Carter tomorrow and get the paternity test done.
Once the results are out, everything will be crystal clear," Whitney said. Klein nodded. "Okay." That night, Klein really pulled out all the stops. When Whitney was left breathless and limp, she heard Klein whisper huskily behind her, "Baby, you're not going to cheat on me, are you?" Whitney, slick with sweat, patted his hand. "Depends on your performance. Now let go, I need a shower. I'm all sticky." Klein trailed kisses along her shoulder blades, savoring every inch as he lingered over her. "As you wish. Don't worry, I won't let anyone else have a chance," he murmured.
Emily had been on edge these past few days, feeling like something bad was about to happen. 16:33 Thu, Jan 1 M Chapter 193 057 35 vorers After her nap, she spotted the new nanny downstairs, holding Cupcake and playing with James, just as Klein reached out to take the baby. Instantly, she panicked. "Uncle Klein! What are you doing?" Emily blurted out. She stormed down the stairs and scooped Cupcake into her arms, shielding her protectively. Klein's face showed a hint of annoyance. "Emily, what's your problem?" "You really think I'd hurt a kid?" he asked, his tone calm.
James frowned and said, "Emily, Klein's your uncle! Aren't you being a little too suspicious?" Emily's sudden reaction put everyone on edge. She bit her lips, realizing she was way too tense, and gave a sheepish smile. "Oh, Uncle Klein, I didn't mean it like that. I just thought maybe you weren't used to holding babies. Cupcake's been sick lately. Too many people holding her might pass on germs." Klein narrowed his eyes, letting out a dry laugh. "So you think I'm carrying some kind of virus now?" 'She's so guarded... What else could it be but a guilty conscience?' Klein thought to himself.
Klein shrugged, not wanting to make her more suspicious. "Whatever, it's not like I have to hold him. I only held him because he's Carter's kid. Otherwise, there are plenty of kids out there. It's not like I'd just pick up any random child." Emily felt her heart jolt at his words. There was something off about what he said, and she couldn't shake the feeling. "Uncle Klein..." she murmured. Klein waved her off. "Dad, let's go upstairs and talk." His cold indifference stung. Emily felt like she'd just been slapped.
She was left frustrated, wondering, 'Am I really just being paranoid?' Meanwhile, the nanny slyly snuck a strand of Cupcake's hair and slipped it into a sealed bag. Emily knew her worst fears were about to become reality. Back home that night, Whitney wrapped her arms around Klein's neck. "Honey, did you get the sample?" Klein raised his eyebrows. "Of course. I had someone deliver it to the lab already. Results will be out in two days." "Once the results are out, should we show them to your dad first?" Whitney asked. "Yeah," Klein replied.
"Better bring a couple of those heart pills for your dad when you go. I'm worried he might just pass out from the shock," Klein joked. Whitney was speechless. 16:33 Thu, Jan Chapter 193 STEA 'Man, you really are your dad's favorite kid, she thought. AD Comment Send gift No Ads 35 vedie 16:33 Thu, Jan admin
