Chapter 470 Chapter 471 Talking about what happened tonight, how could Teresa not be scared? When she was blocked in from both sides in that taxi, she was already bracing herself for whatever might happen next. When she woke up again and overheard those men outside plotting how to completely ruin her, it was pure psychological torment. She hadn't been thinking about it anymore, but now that Troy mentioned it again, Teresa couldn't help but feel a lingering sense of dread. Her eyes welled up with tears, turning completely red as she bit her lip hard, trying not to make a sound.

Troy noticed how much she was holding back, so he gently pulled her into his arms, his big hand soothing the back of her head while he kept whispering, "Don't be scared, babe. Your man is here. No matter what happens, I'll always be right by your side." With his comfort, Teresa couldn't hold it in anymore-she finally broke down and started sobbing in his arms. Troy tucked Teresa's head under his chin, murmuring softly, "How about I take you out tomorrow, just the two of us?

Let's get your mind off things for a while." Teresa buried her face in his chest, her voice raspy as she whispered, "Mm-hmm." They stayed like that for a few minutes, just holding each other, until Teresa finally pulled back and said, "I'll have the maid bring you something to eat." But Troy just squeezed her hand and said, "It's okay, I'm not hungry." Teresa looked at him, a little out of it, as he asked with concern, "How are you doing? Feeling any better?" She nodded, her voice still a little shaky.

"Yeah, I'm already feeling a lot better." Even though she'd been scared out of her wits, Teresa wasn't the type to crumble when things get tough. Seeing Teresa looking much better, Troy finally felt relieved. He turned to the bouquet on the nightstand and said to Teresa, "I passed by a flower shop and thought of getting you some flowers, so you'd feel a little better." Teresa glanced at the flowers, her smile brightening. "They're beautiful. Thank you." Troy said, "I brought some food with me.

Want to share a little?" Honestly, Teresa wasn't hungry at all, but knowing Troy hadn't eaten yet, she agreed anyway, saying, "Okay." Troy brought over the pastries and set them out on the nightstand. Then he picked out one with a fancy design and brought it right up to Teresa's lips. "People say these taste amazing. Give it a try?" Teresa looked at the pastry, paused for a second, then murmured, "Thank you." She leaned in and took a bite. She took a small bite and tasted it-it was really good. Smiling, she used Troy's hand to bring the pastry up to his lips.

She beamed, her voice full of delight as she said, "It's really good. Want to try some too?" Her eyes sparkled, like there were stars dancing inside them. With Teresa's hand on top of his, Troy felt his heart skip a beat. The pastry she brought to his lips was the one she'd just bitten into. Right then, Troy couldn't help but think, 'Maybe she's finally letting me into her heart?' Troy was so lost in his own thoughts that he just sat there, not eating the pastry right away. Teresa noticed and thought maybe he didn't want to eat it after all. She slowly withdrew her hand.

But Troy realized what was happening, so he quickly reached out, took her hand, and placed it over his as he took a big bite of the pastry. He grinned at Teresa, so much warmth in his eyes it was almost tangible. "It really is delicious." When Teresa felt his burning gaze on her, she shyly lowered her head. So, with every pastry Troy brought, Teresa would take a little bite first, and then Troy happily finished off the rest. After all those pastries, Troy's stomach finally felt a whole lot better.

After tidying up the wrappers, Troy noticed Teresa's eyes were rimmed with red, and his heart ached for her. He asked softly, "Feeling sleepy?" Teresa nodded, her voice gentle. "Yeah, a little bit." Troy asked softly, "So... should we get some rest?" Teresa nodded, being all cute. "Mm-hmm." Seeing how adorable Teresa was, Troy couldn't resist and asked, "Should I stay with you tonight?" Teresa's brain short-circuited for a moment, and before she even realized it, she found herself nodding.

"Mm-hmm." Hearing that, Troy jumped up right away and said, "Let me get the curtains." When he got to the window, Troy glanced outside and saw Charles's car still parked out front of the Sullivan Mansion. His brows knitted slightly. Then he reached out and pulled the curtains shut. Meanwhile, out front of the Sullivan Mansion, Charles noticed the curtains in Teresa's room being pulled closed. He instinctively thought, "Troy should be coming out any minute now, shouldn't he?' But after nearly ten minutes, Troy still hadn't appeared outside.

Charles couldn't help but wonder, 'Could it be that Troy's actually staying over at the Sullivan Mansion tonight?' As soon as that possibility popped into his head, Charles didn't hesitate-he went straight up and knocked on the front door of the Sullivan Mansion. He knocked several times before, at last, a voice came from inside: "Who is it? It's so late." It was Yvonne Wesley. Charles, worried Yvonne might not let him in, stayed silent. When Yvonne opened the door, Charles stopped it with his hand. He looked down at her, his voice tinged with a plea.

"Teresa, can I come in for a bit?" Without waiting for her response, he started to walk right into the house. But Yvonne wasn't about to let him in. She firmly blocked his way and said, "Mr. Logan, it's late. Everyone here is about to turn in." Charles shot back, his anger barely contained, "And what about Troy? Why isn't he coming out?" Yvonne replied coolly, "Oh, you mean Mr. Hamilton? He's our guest. Guests need their rest even more at this hour." Charles could tell Yvonne was just making excuses, and his frustration boiled over. "But he's in the same room as my wife!

Teresa, do you even know what you're doing? Are you really going to keep siding with Troy like this?" Yvonne was getting annoyed too, and she didn't bother to hide it. She shot back, "Come on, it's not like this is the first time they've spent the night together." As soon as she said it, Yvonne felt a bit of regret. But after thinking about it, she figured there was nothing to be sorry for. Charles's face darkened instantly at Yvonne's words. He pushed past her, making a move to barge straight into the Sullivan Mansion.

But right then, Theodore popped up out of nowhere and stepped right in front of him. "Charles, you know breaking into someone else's house is illegal, right?" Charles was way past caring. "Are you seriously lecturing me about the law when my wife is literally in bed with another guy? You think I give a damn right now?" Theodore wasn't backing down, and he didn't bother saying anything else. Yvonne reached out and grabbed Charles's arm. "Charles, you should head home. Don't keep Ms.

Yates waiting too long." With that, Theodore and Yvonne worked together to shove Charles out the front door of the Sullivan Mansion. After the door slammed shut, Charles didn't bother knocking again. He stood there at the front door of the Sullivan Mansion, his anger burning white-hot inside him. But even with all that anger boiling inside, Charles fought the urge to storm in and instead gave Teresa a call.

He thought to himself, 'If she answers, if she's willing to come back with me, then I'll leave the Sullivan family alone.' Editorial board Editorial Board: Our editorial team works behind the scenes to refine each chapter, maintain consistency, and deliver the best reading experience.
