Chapter 456 Chapter 457 When Naomi returned to the villa next to Joyacre Villa, she felt totally crushed. She slumped onto the couch, thinking about all that online gossip and how Charles had given her the cold shoulder. It just made her feel even worse. The villa was so empty, not a single sign of life anywhere. Naomi couldn't help but glance around, and her tears just wouldn't stop. Just as she was feeling down, her phone on the coffee table lit up, and the ringtone started ringing. Naomi instinctively glanced over, secretly hoping it might be Charles calling. But no such luck-it was Ava.
Naomi was feeling so down that she didn't even hesitate to pick up. "Naomi, I saw the news online. Are you... are you okay?" Ava didn't beat around the bush as soon as the call connected. Ava didn't waste any time-she got straight to the point the moment Naomi picked up. The more her mom showed she cared, the more Naomi broke down. "Mom, I..." Naomi was so choked up, she could barely speak. Ava could tell something was wrong with Naomi, but instead of comforting her, she cut straight to the chase. "Is all that stuff online true?
Did Jason really kiss you?" Naomi lowered her head and replied helplessly, "Yeah, it's true." Ava immediately got anxious, sighing again and again. "Naomi, what were you thinking?" Naomi shot back, "Mom, I'm a woman too. Women have needs, you know. When Jason kissed me that day, I even thought about letting things go further with him." Hearing Naomi's words, Ava stopped scolding and calmed down. "No matter what happened, even if it was your fault, don't chase after Charles anymore, and definitely don't beg him. The more you go after him, the less he'll think you're worth." Naomi looked down.
"But Mom, I already did." Ava said calmly, "It's okay. From now on, don't go looking for him, and don't even message him anymore." Naomi nodded, doing as she was told. "Alright, Mom, I'll do as you say." Ava finally let out a breath, then reminded her, "No matter what happens, don't go running after Charles. Just do what you're supposed to-go to the dinners, go to class, keep up with your routine." Chapter 457 05 vouchere Naomi answered right away, "Okay, Mom. I get it." But even though Naomi agreed, Ava still couldn't shake her worry.
"Naomi, whether Charles loves you or not really isn't that important. What matters is that you don't love him too much. Loving someone too much only ends up hurting yourself. If things don't work out, you need to be able to leave with your dignity. If you really want to marry him, maybe you could take a page from Teresa's book-get pregnant first, then marry him. Even if he won't claim the baby, the Logan family will still have to accept you..." Ava paused, her words trailing off.
After a long silence, she finally said, her voice full of worry, "But if you do that, you might just end up following in Teresa's footsteps." Naomi calmed down and replied to Ava with a steady voice, "Mom, I get it. I'll really think it through." ***** At the Sullivan Mansion, evening was falling, and the sky outside was slowly turning dark. Teresa had just brought some food up from downstairs and was about to enter the bedroom when she saw Troy sitting up against the headboard, on the phone. She had no idea who he was talking to, but his face was serious, and he looked really uneasy.

Teresa couldn't hear what the other person was saying-she only caught Troy's response. "Yeah, I know. I'm coming over now." Not long after, Troy hung up. As he set his phone down, Troy turned to Teresa, sounding a little reluctant. "I'm afraid I have to step out for a while." Teresa couldn't help but feel uneasy, so she asked, "What's wrong?" Troy said, "Just something for work." He didn't explain, and Teresa didn't push for answers.
Seeing Teresa stay quiet, Troy chuckled and teased, "Not happy with me?" Teresa still didn't respond, but Troy just grinned and said, "Relax, I'll come back tonight." With that, he threw off the covers and got out of bed. Teresa watched him, thinking he'd head for the front door, but to her surprise, he went straight for the window instead. He stepped onto a stool and was about to haul himself out when Teresa quickly called out, "Troy." 48 Chapter 457 At 55 Troy froze mid-move, turned back with that signature lazy look in his eyes, and asked, "What's up?" vouchers Teresa pointed at the door.
"Just use the front door, okay? It's snowing and the roads are slick. Don't slip and break your neck out there." Hearing that, Troy jumped down from the window without hesitation. He didn't give a damn about his injuries, but Teresa's heart was pounding with worry as she watched. Once she saw him land without a scratch, Teresa finally relaxed. Troy walked up to Teresa and asked quietly, "You sure you want me to use the front door? Aren't you worried someone might see me?" Teresa was straightforward. "Everyone already knows you're here." Troy blinked in surprise.
"Oh." Now he was the one feeling a bit sheepish. Teresa was a young woman, and here Troy was, staying in her bedroom without even telling the Sullivans about it. Still, Troy thought, since it's already come to this, he figured he should just face it head-on. Besides, Teresa had asked him to use the front door-how could he possibly refuse her? When he reached the bedroom door, Troy felt a pang of reluctance. He turned back to Teresa and whispered, "Make sure to leave the window open for me tonight, okay? I can't fall asleep unless I'm holding you close." Teresa didn't say no.
Instead, she said, "Just use the front door, okay? Don't climb out the window. You're hurt -it's too risky." Troy's smile got even bigger at that. He came back and wrapped his arms around Teresa, saying softly, "I really don't want to leave you. I wish I could have you with me every second." Teresa didn't push him away. She just let him hold her, staying quiet. When Troy finally let go, he leaned down and gave Teresa a gentle kiss on the lips. "So, I'm heading out now?" Teresa nodded. "Mm." Troy reached up and gave her nose a playful pinch. "Be good, okay?
I'll be back soon." Teresa just let out a soft, nasal "Mm." Seeing her like that, Troy grinned mischievously. "I'll be quick-remember to miss me." Teresa didn't say anything, just watched as Troy walked out the door. After Troy left, Teresa sat on the edge of the bed, zoning out for a while. Chapter 457 Once she snapped out of it, she ate the dinner she'd brought up earlier. After she finished eating, Monica came in. Teresa played with Monica for a bit and told her a couple of stories, and only then did Monica leave, looking totally satisfied. Feeling tired, Teresa decided to wash up.
After her shower, she only had a bathrobe on, her hair soaking wet and hanging down her back, water practically dripping off the tips. The steam had made the bathroom doorway slick. Teresa was being super careful, but when she stepped on the bath mat, it slid out from under her and she ended up falling. But instead of the pain she'd braced for, Teresa opened her eyes and found Troy right there, wearing that signature smirk-dangerous, cocky, and way too irresistible. She honestly felt her heart skip a beat. Troy had her in his arms, holding her steady as he pulled her back up.
Once she was steady again, Teresa gave an awkward smile. "The bath mat slipped and I lost my balance, that's what happened..." Before she could finish, Troy scooped her up into his arms. Teresa squirmed in his arms. "Troy, you're still hurt! Don't push yourself, you'll just make it worse." Troy buried his face in the crook of Teresa's neck, taking a deep, greedy breath of her scent. With a self- satisfied smirk, he murmured, "Don't underestimate me, babe. If you wanted me to take you three or five times tonight, that's nothing for me." Seeing Teresa's checks turn bright red, he kept teasing.
