Chapter 425 Chapter 426 After Wendy pushed Teresa out of the store, the saleswoman finally turned around, flashing a bright smile at Naomi. "Miss Yolanda, don't let that little drama mess up your mood. That outfit looks amazing on you-it really brings out your vibe." The saleswoman sure knew how to give compliments, and Naomi felt a bit shy from all the praise. She instinctively glanced at Charles, but he still looked pretty grim. Maybe because he noticed Naomi looking at him, Charles turned her way and said, "Naomi, I'll go pay for it." Naomi was caught off guard for a second, then nodded.
"Okay, thanks, Charles." With that, Charles turned to the saleswoman. "I'll pay by card." He pulled out his card and handed it over. The saleswoman swiped the card, then handed it back to Charles with both hands. After Charles took the card, the saleswoman smiled politely and said, "Mr. Logan, we look forward to seeing you and Mrs. Logan again." 'Mrs. Logan?' Charles thought, a little thrown by the title. After a moment, he turned to the saleswoman and asked, "What's your name?" The saleswoman's cheeks flushed, and her voice shook as she answered, "Mr. Logan, I...
I'm Jenna Chase." Charles echoed, "Jenna Chase?" She nodded. "Yes." As she answered, Jenna stole a quick, secret glance at Naomi. Unconsciously, Jenna was radiating a subtle charm that drew attention. But in the next moment, Charles's expression turned icy. "Noted." With that, he turned around without hesitation, looked at Naomi, and said, "Naomi, let's go." He took Naomi by the hand, then offered his other hand to Yolanda. "Come on." Yolanda grabbed Charles's hand, bouncing with excitement.
"Daddy, you're so nice to Miss Naomi, but you never say you'll buy me pretty dresses!" Charles replied, "I'll buy you some next time." Yolanda put on a pout. "Daddy's always so busy. Who knows when that'll be?" Naomi leaned in and looked at Yolanda. "It's okay, Yolanda. Daddy's got a lot of work. Next time, how about I take you to buy some pretty dresses, alright?" Yolanda let go of Charles's hand and scooted over to grab Naomi's. "Okay! Thank you, Miss Naomi! You're my favorite!" Charles stayed silent the whole way out of the mall, not saying a single word.
Just as they were about to leave, he suddenly let go of Naomi's hand, turned to her, and said, "I need to make a call." Naomi blinked in confusion, but nodded anyway. "Okay." With that, Charles walked off toward a corner of the mall. After Charles walked off, Naomi felt Yolanda tug at her hand. "Miss Naomi, I want that balloon." Naomi glanced down at Yolanda, a wave of irritation bubbling up inside her, but she held back her annoyance and said, "Sure, go ahead and pick your favorite.

Miss Naomi will pay for you." Once Naomi agreed, Yolanda happily skipped over to the balloon stand to choose one. Watching Yolanda skip around so happily, Naomi couldn't help but think, 'Once Charles and I have our own child, I won't care about Yolanda anymore.' 'When our kid grows up, they'll snatch away everything that was supposed to be Yolanda's. Just thinking about it, Naomi found herself strangely looking forward to that day. At the corner of the mall, Charles lit a cigarette, pulled out his phone, and called Liam.
Once Liam answered, Charles gave a cold order, "Fire Jenna Chase from Starcrest Mall. And spread the word -no luxury brand is to hire her." Liam had never seen Charles like this before, so he couldn't help but ask, "Mr. Logan, what happened?" Charles didn't bother to explain. He just said, "Just do what I said." With a resigned sigh, Liam replied, "Alright, I'll handle it." After finishing the call, Charles took a final drag of his cigarette before stepping out from the corner of the mall. When he walked over to Naomi, he noticed the cold look in her eyes as she stared at Yolanda.
He leaned in and asked quietly, "Naomi, what's wrong? Is something in your eye?" Naomi snapped out of it, quickly wiping the hostility off her face and replacing it with a gentle smile. "Charles, are you done with your call? I... something got in my eye, that's all." Charles said, "Let me take a look." Naomi tilted her head up, signaling for Charles to check her eye. Even though he couldn't see anything wrong, Charles still leaned in and blew softly across Naomi's eye a couple of times. When he was done, Naomi blinked a few times, acting like it helped, then flashed him a smile.
"Charles, it's all good now." Charles nodded. "Okay." Naomi looked up at Charles, noticing his complexion was off. She asked with concern, "Charles, what's wrong? You don't look so well." Charles kept his gaze on Yolanda as he answered, "It's nothing. Just handled some dirty business. Nothing major." Naomi blinked, puzzled. "Dirty business?" Charles didn't explain further. He simply said, "Well, let's head back." Meanwhile, back at the store, Jenna was still caught up in her flirty daydream after Charles asked her name.
She couldn't help but imagine that maybe he'd fall for her and buy her endless designer goods. Just as she was lost in her fantasy, her phone lit up with a call from an unknown number. Jenna glanced at it, thinking maybe Charles was calling her personally. But when she picked up, a harsh male voice snapped, "You're fired." Jenna froze. "W-What? Who are you?" The voice replied, "I'm the owner of the mall. You have ten minutes to get out. If you're still here after that, someone will come and escort you out." Jenna's heart skipped a beat, and her face went ghostly pale in an instant.
Before she could say another word, the caller hung up on her. After Wendy pushed Teresa out of the mall, she started trying to hail a cab by the curb. But it was lunchtime rush hour, and there wasn't a single empty cab in sight. Wendy stood there, her right hand still bleeding, blood staining all five of her fingers. Teresa saw Wendy's hand dripping blood and panicked. Leaning on her crutch, she stuck out her hand, trying to flag one down, but every driver just sped past without stopping.
Teresa glanced around and spotted a pharmacy by another entrance-it would take at least twenty minutes to walk there. Wendy was sweating more and more, and Teresa felt a jolt of panic in her chest. Suddenly, someone called out, "Wendy!" Teresa turned and was shocked to see Finn standing there. Finn walked over, saw Wendy was in bad shape, and didn't hesitate-he just picked her up, cradling her in his Without saying a word, Finn scooped Wendy up and put her straight into the back seat.
At the same time, Charles, who had just finished his call and was about to leave with Naomi and Yolanda, caught sight of what was happening over there. Yolanda pointed at Finn and Teresa. "Daddy, is that Uncle Finn?" 田 AD Comment Send gift No Ads Editorial board Editorial Board: Our editorial team works behind the scenes to refine each chapter, maintain consistency, and deliver the best reading experience.
