Chapter 360 Seeing Zane still looking uncomfortable , Teresa asked again , " Are your eyes feeling weird or something ? " Zane nervously met Teresa's clear , straightforward gaze and muttered , " They're just kind of dry Teresa grabbed an alcohol wipe , cleaned off her fingers , then said , " Let me see Zane tilted his face up obediently so Teresa could check his eyes . After a quick look , she decided , " Cut back on staring at your phone so much , and your eyes won't feel scratchy , " Zane shot a glance at Peyton , who was lazily scrolling through something on his own phone .
The sight made Zane annoyed , so when he replied to Teresa , his tone was very half - hearted . " Yeah ." Hector was sitting on the floor off to the side . He wasn't part of the puzzle game , but he could sense that tonight , the puzzle was just a cover for an unspoken war simmering beneath the surface . He could easily pick up on what was off with Zane , even if he wasn't right in the thick of it . But before long , Teresa and Zane finished up the puzzle together . Once they wrapped up , Teresa grinned and gave Zane a big thumbs - up . " You did awesome , Zane !
" After that , she stood up and said to Zane and Peyton , " Zane , Peyton , it's getting late . Hector and I should take off - we've gotta get up early to head back to Riverdale tomorrow ." Zane was at a loss for words . Panicked , he looked straight at Peyton and stammered , " Dad ... " Peyton put his phone down and got up as well . He nodded to Teresa , " Thanks for hanging out with Zane tonight , Teresa . You and Hector take care and get some rest ." With that , Teresa grabbed her things and strode out with Hector . Zane opened his mouth to call out after them , but Peyton beat him to it .
" Goodnight , Teresa . Goodnight , Hector , " Peyton said . " Goodnight , " Teresa replied with a smile . After the farewells , Teresa and Hector headed out into the night together . The moment the hotel room door clicked shut , Zane turned to Peyton , worry etched on his face . " Dad , where's Mr. Hamilton ? Why isn't he coming over ? " Peyton took Zane's hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze . " Don't sweat it , kiddo . Sneaking around is Mr. Hamilton's thing- he'll be just fine . " At Peyton's words , Zane finally caught on . " Oh , got it .
" Meanwhile , Teresa and Hector came to a stop at the doors to their rooms . Hector didn't bother fumbling for his key right away . Instead , he asked Teresa , " What time do you want to head out tomorrow ? " Teresa gave it some thought . " Four a.m. I need to reach the local court before nine . " Hector looked taken aback . Chapter 360 It clicked - she was going to finalize her divorce with Charles tomorrow . Hector's face lit up with a smile . " Alright then , get to bed early " Once Teresa was alone in her room , she barely took time to brush her teeth before collapsing on the bed .

She only had a few hours to sleep , so her last thought was , ' Gotta rest up ; tomorrow I'll be swapping driving shifts with Hector . But just as she was drifting off , she thought she heard a faint noise coming from the window . She figured it was just her imagination , rolled over , and tried to fall back asleep . But just as she was drifting off , she felt an arm tighten around her waist . Teresa jolted upright , breath catching in her throat . " Who is it ? " she demanded , panic lacing her voice . The room was so dim she squinted , struggling to see anything clearly .
There was only a shadowy lump on the bed - absolutely no clue it was Troy . Sensing Teresa's fear , Troy rushed to say , " It's me . " When Teresa heard Troy's voice , she finally breathed a sigh of relief . She sat on the bed , lost in a daze . Troy sat up too , reaching over to switch on the dim bedside lamp . His face slowly came into view in the soft light . He fixed his eyes on Teresa , his tone turning lazy and playful again . " Seriously ? Just a few days apart and you already forgot what my hands feel like on you ?
" Teresa didn't respond to Troy's teasing ; instead , she shot him a wary look and demanded , " What are you doing here ? " As she spoke , she scooted a little further away from Troy . Seeing Teresa deliberately put some distance between them , Troy felt like someone had stabbed him right in the heart . He brushed off Teresa's reaction , but this time his gaze sharpened , his usual lazy attitude gone . " I just wanted to hold you . " Teresa frowned , cutting him off , " Don't , Troy . Sylvia's the one you're after - not me . " Her words really ticked Troy off . He snapped , " You're wrong .
The only one I want is you ." Teresa didn't want to hear it . She turned away , pointing straight at the door . " Get out , or I'll call for someone . " Troy sat there on the bed with a frosty stare . " I'm not leaving unless you want me dying out there ." Teresa stayed silent , but her hand didn't move from where it was , still aimed at the door . Her stance couldn't be clearer . Seeing how unyielding Teresa was , Troy got out of bed barefoot and went to stand right at the edge . He didn't say a word , just started peeling off his clothes .
He pulled off his trench coat , then stripped away his sweater and undershirt , baring his entire chest . The wound on his chest still hadn't healed - it was still bandaged up . Teresa refused to look his way . She just turned her face aside , lips pressed into a cold line . ' Not a chance , she thought . Troy didn't utter a sound . He simply reached out and yanked off the gauze covering his wound in one rough move . He tossed the gauze to the floor , then dug his finger into the wound with a brutal twist .
The barely healed cut split open again , blood welling up and trickling down his chest . Teresa heard Troy's low groan and whipped her head around , shocked to see him doing that to himself . She panicked , her voice trembling . " Troy , are you crazy ? What the hell are you doing ? " She was crying as she demanded answers , then got out of bed and pressed her hand right over his wound . Teresa slammed her hand down over the wound , eyes red and tears falling nonstop .
As she sobbed and shouted , panic and anger mixed in her voice : " If you want to die , don't do it in front of me - go somewhere far away ! If you die out there , it's got nothing to do with me ! " She had a sharp tongue but a soft heart , and even though she was shaken up inside , her grip on his wound was as firm as ever . Watching Teresa melt into tears , Troy only gave a crooked smile . The pain hit so hard , Troy went white as a sheet , his forehead covered in cold sweat .
Still grinning , his voice raw and raspy , Troy murmured , " If caring about me costs my life , it'd be worth it ." Teresa was so pissed off she didn't even bother arguing . She just grabbed the gauze she always carried and started patching up Troy's wound . The cut had already started to heal , so even after all that blood , it wasn't nearly as dangerous as it was at the beginning . After patching him up , Teresa tried to walk away , but Troy caught her arm and pulled her close , locking her tightly in his embrace from behind .
He lowered his head , inhaling the scent of her hair with desperate intensity , his voice raw and aching . " She may have saved my life , but the only thing I remember is your name , your warmth , the softness of your lips . Sylvia means nothing to me- I've never cared who she was and I don't want to know . Every promise I've ever made , Teresa , was for you and only you . No one else could ever matter to me . If you don't want me , I'd rather be dead . "
