Chapter 344 Chapter 344 : ( 52 ) 55 vouchers Teresa listened to everyone fussing over her . With her nose still red , she shook her head and said , " No , I'm really fine . " Even so , the worry in everyone's eyes didn't fade in the slightest . Except for Sylvia - her gaze toward Teresa grew unreadable , complicated emotions flickering in her eyes . She remembered that night on the bridge - cars smashed together , panicked screams everywhere . As a medical student , Sylvia Morris heard someone sobbing and shouting , " Is anyone a doctor ? Please , help us ! We're begging you !
" At first , Sylvia Morris hesitated , thinking she shouldn't interfere . But the raw desperation in that plea tugged at her heart , and she just couldn't walk away . She slipped on her mask , stepped out of her car , and pushed through the circle of onlookers surrounding the crash . Kneeling down beside the wounded , she quickly checked his vitals and started CPR , her hands trembling but determined . The man lying on the ground was so badly covered in blood that Sylvia could only make out a vague outline of his features - his actual face was almost impossible to recognize .
But judging by his physique and the expensive - looking coat he was wearing , Sylvia could tell he was either wealthy or someone with status . At that moment , Sylvia didn't give any of that a second thought . All she wanted was to try her best to bring him back . But as she kept working to save him , the man beneath her suddenly stirred . His fingers twitched weakly , and then , struggling to speak with a raspy voice , he gasped , " It ... hurts . You're pressing too hard . " Sylvia immediately let go , her face flushed with embarrassment .
" I'm really sorry - I'm just a student , I'm still learning , I might've done it wrong ... " But before she could finish , Troy , sounding even rougher , but still managing a tease , said , " You have a great voice . I bet you're beautiful , too , aren't you ? " Sylvia was honestly thrown off . ' Who does that ? The guy's half - dead and he's still making moves ? ' she thought . Almost on autopilot , Sylvia shot back , " Hardly . " Troy managed a weak smile , blood painting his face a vivid red .
Only his teeth shone white through the mess , yet even in that state , there was something undeniably handsome about him . Then Troy looked at her and asked in a hoarse whisper , " Am I going to die ? " 17:16 Mon , Oct 20 Chapter 344 Sylvia answered , her voice steady and determined , " No. I'm going to save you ." Troy managed a weak laugh . " If you save me , you'll totally be on the hook for me , you know . " Sylvia blinked , flustered and confused . " What ... what do you mean by that ? " Troy grinned , voice barely audible . " Marry me ." Sylvia barely hesitated . " Alright !
If you survive , I'll marry you ! " Troy held on to those words for years , never letting her promise slip from his memory . Soon enough , the ambulance arrived . 52 E55 vouchers As the ambulance sirens grew louder , Troy called out , his voice rough but insistent , " What's your name ? " Sylvia didn't want to answer - she just wanted to disassociate herself entirely from all this . But Troy's fingers gripped her clothes so tightly , it was like he wouldn't let go until she told him her name . Panicked , Sylvia blurted out the first name that came to mind . " I ... I'm Teresa .
" Right then , all Sylvia could think about were those viral clips online - where people tried to help and ended up getting blamed or even scammed for their kindness . That's why , in a pinch , she gave Teresa's name instead of her own . As her memories slowly pieced themselves together , Sylvia finally realized why Troy felt so familiar to her . So it was him all along - he was the man she'd saved on the bridge that night . Seeing the way he looked at Teresa now , Sylvia thought , ' Did he really take that promise to heart all these years ?

' And now , ' she wondered , ' does he think Teresa was the one who pulled him back from the brink that night ? ' With Sarah and Jenny around , Sylvia figured it wasn't the right time to ask anything else . Teresa was clearly feeling down , so everyone stuck around , ordering more drinks and doing their best to lift her spirits . By the time the clock struck eleven , everyone at the table was just a bit buzzed - everyone except Sylvia , who was the only one still completely clear - headed .
After paying the bill , Sylvia was busy running back and forth , dropping her friends off one after another . She kept Teresa waiting in the private lounge , deciding to take her home last . When Sylvia returned , she was all set to ask Teresa about Troy , but seeing her friend already dozing off on the table , Sylvia just sighed and thought , ' Forget it , I'll ask her another time ! 17:16 Mon , Oct 20 Chapter 344 52 65 vouchers As Sylvia helped Teresa toward the entrance , just as she was about to push open the door , a voice called out from behind her . " Miss Monroe .
" Teresa was barely standing on her own , practically leaning all her weight on Sylvia . She mumbled , " Come on , Sarah , your drinking game's slipping - you're not even finishing your drinks anymore . " Sylvia turned around and saw Charles approaching her . She knew exactly what kind of history Teresa and Charles had , so for a split second , she couldn't hide her surprise . Why is he here at this hour ? ' Sylvia thought . Charles walked over , gave Teresa a quick once - over , then looked at Sylvia . " Let me take her home , " he said .
Sylvia hesitated , uncertainty flickering in her eyes , but finally nodded . " Alright ." Charles flashed her a warm smile . " Really appreciate it ." As soon as he finished speaking , Charles stepped over and took Teresa directly into his arms , relieving Sylvia of her hold . Once she was with him , Teresa melted right into Charles , enjoying his warmth and unconsciously burrowing even closer . Charles smelled the booze all over her and gave a little frown . Leaning down , he lowered his voice and asked , " Can you still walk ?
" When Teresa realized the voice wasn't Sylvia's , she suddenly jerked her head up , eyes glazed and lost , fixing a dazed stare on Charles's face . Slurring drunkenly , she blurted out , " Troy ? " The second that name left her lips , a storm cloud passed over Charles's face , his expression turning noticeably grim . Saying nothing more , Charles bent down and swept Teresa right off her feet , cradling her firmly in his arms as he marched out of the restaurant without so much as a backward glance .
Sylvia stood there , watching them go , and when she heard Teresa call out Troy's name , something twisted in her chest . For some reason , in that moment , Sylvia found herself suddenly regretting it all . She regretted ever lying to Troy about who she was . If I'd just told him my real name back then , Sylvia thought , ' would he be treating me like this now ? Would he be the one holding me close instead ? ' ' Maybe ... maybe we could even be married by now , ' she wondered , her heart aching with what might have been .
All those thoughts hit Sylvia at once , and her heart was all over the place - regret , confusion , and a mess of ' what ifs ' she just couldn't shake off . 17:16 Mon , Oct 20 Chapter 344 52 El 65 vouchers As Charles carried Teresa out of the restaurant , she suddenly burst into tears in his arms . " Troy , don't you see ? You're loving the wrong person - you idiot ." " But why does it have to be me ? Why ? Why do you treat me so well ?
" Teresa , utterly lost and drunk , clung to Charles's neck , yet every word out of her mouth was for Troy - she didn't mention Charles at all , completely oblivious to who was really holding her . Seeing Teresa so hung up on Troy , Charles's expression grew colder by the second until he just couldn't hold back his frustration anymore . He suddenly came to a halt , glaring down at Teresa , who was totally wasted and her cheeks burning red . " Take a good look . Do you even know who I really am ?
" Teresa's eyes shot wide open , and she gazed up at Charles , hysterical with laughter and tears , blurting out through her drunken haze , " Troy ... you're Troy . " Charles lowered Teresa to her feet , but she was so unsteady she nearly collapsed , barely able to keep herself upright . He clamped down hard on her wrist , his grip nearly bruising , like he wanted to crush her right then and there . Teresa let out a choked sob , wincing at the pain . " It hurts ... Troy , you're hurting me ." Hearing her still calling for Troy , Charles let go of her abruptly , his voice cold and cutting .
" Since he's all you care about , let him look after you . From now on , Charles is out of this . " With that , he headed straight for his car without another glance . But just as he was about to pull away , Teresa lost her balance completely and went down hard , hitting the pavement . Seeing this , Charles punched the steering wheel , his anger boiling over . He jumped out , scooped Teresa up , and settled her into the passenger seat , buckling her in himself .
Just as Charles was about to straighten up , Teresa suddenly threw her arms around his neck , her eyes red and glistening with unshed tears . She pulled herself close to him , her voice small and husky , trembling and half- choked with sobs , as if it were buzzing with raw emotion . " Troy , why are you so cruel ? " she cried . " Why do you treat me so well , even when you don't even know if it's really me ? " AD
