Chapter 438 Chapter 439 Chapter 439 Before she realized it, Teresa had spent some time walking through the cemetery. 55 vouchers She felt the wheelchair stop and assumed they'd arrived. When she looked up, what she saw drained all the color from her face. Right in front of her, a tombstone had been knocked over and was lying on the ground. Behind the tombstone, the urn had been shattered, and the ashes inside had disappeared. A thin layer of snow had already settled on both the tombstone and the urn-it was obvious the damage had been done a few days earlier.
Teresa turned around in shock and saw Troy bolt forward. He dropped to his knees and frantically brushed the snow away from the tombstone. As the snow was swept aside, a photo came into view-a black-and-white portrait, now defaced with a splash of vivid red liquid. She couldn't tell if it was blood or something else.
Beside the photo, someone had crudely scrawled two large words: "Bitch!" She saw Troy's fingers shaking, and heard him cry out, his voice trembling: "Grandma, Grandma..." Troy clung to the tombstone, his eyes wide with panic as he looked around, tears welling up and spilling down his cheeks. Teresa's heart twisted with worry. Instinctively, she reached out and placed her hand on Troy's shoulder. "Troy, this..." She wanted to say something to comfort him, but the words just wouldn't come. It was clear as day that someone had done this on purpose.
Troy was in a high position, with plenty of people jealous of him or treating him as competition. But who could be so cruel as to dig up someone's family grave? Just thinking about it made Teresa break out in a cold sweat. It took Troy a long time to pull himself together. When he finally turned around, his face was expressionless, but there was a trace of ruthless resolve in his eyes. Teresa looked at him, worry etched on her face. "Are you okay?" Troy shook his head and took Teresa's hand. His hand was icy cold, but Teresa didn't pull away. She just let him hold her hand.
After a long moment, Troy finally calmed down. His voice was hoarse as he said to Teresa, "Judging by the traces, this was done deliberately." Chapter 439 55 vouchers Teresa nodded and reached out to comfort him, but instead, he took her other hand. He gave her a gentle smile and said softly, "Teresa, I'm fine. I'll have Frank come pick you up and take you home." Her eyes full of confusion, Teresa asked, "What about you? What are you going to do?" Troy just gave her a faint smile.
"I need to take care of Grandma's tombstone here." After a pause, he added, "And I probably won't be able to see you for the next couple of days, but I'll check in with you every day so you know I'm okay. Don't worry about me." Hearing that, Teresa couldn't relax at all. "Troy, what exactly are you planning to do?" Troy squeezed her hands tightly and said softly, "Don't ask, and don't try to find out. I won't let you get mixed up in this ugly business." Teresa grew anxious, her eyes rimmed with tears. She knew Troy would never let the person who did this disgusting thing get off easy.

But who could have done something like this? What if the other side was just as powerful? Teresa wanted to ask more, but Troy had already called Frank. After the call, Troy took off his coat and draped it over Teresa's shoulders. "Frank will be here soon. He'll get you home safe and sound." Teresa looked at him and nodded. "Yeah, I know." Troy reached out and gently tousled her hair. "I'll go fix the tombstone." Teresa nodded, but she was at a loss for words. She knew exactly what Troy was going through, but there was nothing she could do for him.
Teresa sat in her wheelchair, trying to do something for Troy, but he softly stopped her, "Don't move. It's freezing out here, you'll get hurt." So all she could do was watch as Troy kept busy nearby, picking up the urn and trying to carve away the word "bitch" with his knife. No matter how hard he tried, those words just wouldn't come off. And that black-and-white photo was ruined, stained through with that bright red liquid-there was no way to fix it. It wasn't long before Frank showed up. "Mr. Hamilton," Frank called out, his voice shaky and barely audible.
The scene in front of him had clearly rattled him. Troy brushed the snow and dirt off himself, got to his feet, and started pushing Teresa's wheelchair. He didn't say a single word as they headed out of the cemetery. Teresa sat in her wheelchair, nerves jangling. She tried a few times to say something, but the words just stuck in her throat-nothing she could say would make any difference right now. After thinking it over, she decided not to say anything else. When they reached Frank's car, Troy gently lifted Teresa and settled her inside.
Then, he bent down, cupped her face in his hands, and pressed a soft kiss to her forehead. With that, he was about to close the car door. But Teresa quickly called out, "Troy." Troy paused, his hand on the car door, and looked down at her, concern flickering in his eyes. "What is it?" Teresa said softly, "Promise me you won't let yourself get hurt." Troy gave her a gentle smile and replied, "I promise. I'll come back to you safe and sound.
Every promise I've made to you I'll keep them all." As he was about to close the door, Teresa quickly grabbed the hem of his shirt, her eyes full of pleading. "Stay safe." Troy nodded. "I will." With that, he gently closed the car door. Teresa watched from the back seat as Troy turned to Frank. "Make sure Teresa gets home safe, then come find me." Frank nodded. "Yes, Mr. Hamilton." Troy said, "Go." With that, Troy waved Frank off and headed back into the cemetery. Frank got in and started driving. All the way back to the Sullivan Mansion, Teresa's heart was in her throat.
After a moment, she couldn't help but ask Frank, "What's he going to do?" Frank shook his head. "I don't know." Then he added, "But his grandma means everything to Mr. Hamilton-she's just as important to him as you are. He grew up with her, so you can bet he won't let this slide." El 55 vouchers Teresa felt a wave of unease. "Who do you think did this?" Frank shook his head again. "Hard to say right now. Mr. Hamilton's got plenty of rivals Teresa didn't ask anything else, but her hands gripped even tighter.
When they got to the Sullivan Mansion, Frank walked Teresa into the main hall, then left. That afternoon, Teresa didn't hear anything from Troy. She didn't reach out to him, but deep down, she kept waiting for him to send a message and let her know he was safe. After dinner, Yvonne suggested they go out for a bit, but Teresa turned her down. Back upstairs, Teresa sat by the window. She opened it and left it that way, even though the wind was blowing and snow was falling outside. She kept thinking, 'Maybe Troy will show up at the window any second now!
The snowy roads were slippery-she was afraid he might slip, but even more afraid he'd be out there freezing. She just sat by the window for two hours, hoping Troy would show up, but he never did. Her phone stayed silent the whole time. It wasn't until Yvonne came in and saw the window wide open that she asked, a little confused, "Teresa, why haven't you closed the window? It's freezing outside, and your leg still hasn't healed.
You'll end up freezing yourself." As Yvonne reached out to close it, Teresa called out quickly, "Yvonne, please don't close it." Yvonne paused, then pulled her hand back from the window. Then, as if she just realized, Yvonne turned back with a playful grin. "What, are you waiting for Troy?" Teresa didn't argue. She just nodded softly. "Yeah." Yvonne paused, sensing something was off with Teresa. She asked gently, "Is everything okay?" Teresa shook her head, trying to sound reassuring. "It's nothing, Yvonne.
You go get some rest-I should probably do the same." Yvonne didn't ask any more, but she couldn't shake off a sense of worry. As soon as Yvonne left the bedroom, Teresa's phone started ringing. She checked her phone-hoping it was Troy, but it was actually Wendy Stone calling. "Hello?" Teresa said, sounding really down. Wendy could tell something was off right away. "What's wrong?
