Chapter 460 Chapter 461 E55 vouchers Chapter 461 Charles went straight to Yolanda's room on the second floor and pushed the door open. Yolanda was still lying in bed, not even bothering to get up. She was wide awake, but she was so mad that she just stayed put, refusing to get up or go downstairs. Charles tiptoed over and sat down on the edge of the bed. He gently pulled the covers back, revealing Yolanda's face. It was obvious she'd been crying-her eyes were red and puffy. Charles looked down at her, not offering a single word of comfort.
Instead, he asked, a little angry, "What, you just going to stay in bed forever?" Yolanda didn't say a word. She just yanked the covers over her head, hiding herself again. Seeing this, Charles pulled the covers off her again, his tone harsh. "Are you really planning to keep this up forever?" Finally, Yolanda burst into tears, sobbing as she said to Charles, "Dad, I want Miss Naomi to stay with me." Seeing Yolanda cry, Charles didn't comfort her. He just spoke softly, "Can I ask you something?" Hearing his gentle tone, Yolanda thought he wasn't angry anymore.
She nodded and said, "Okay, ask me." Charles looked at her seriously. "Is it true you pushed Mom down the stairs? Is that why her leg is hurt?" Yolanda froze, her eyes wide. "Dad, you don't believe me?" Her eyes were shining, so clear and pure-like she couldn't hurt a fly. In that moment, Charles regretted it all over again. 'Was I wrong to even ask?' Charles wondered. Noticing the guilt flicker in Charles's eyes, Yolanda didn't miss her chance to push back. "Dad, did that awful mom say something to you again?" Charles turned his face away, refusing to look at Yolanda.
"Your mom didn't say anything." But Yolanda wasn't convinced. She insisted, "It has to be her. Because of her, you don't care about me or Miss Naomi anymore." Hearing Naomi's name come up in almost every sentence, Charles said sharply, "Stay away from Naomi from now on." Yolanda caught the harshness in his tone and asked, confused, "Why?" ob vouchers Charles snapped, "Look at you. This isn't who you are." With that, Charles stood up and looked down at Yolanda. "Take some time to think about it. When you're ready, come find me." Then he turned and walked out of the bedroom.
Yolanda watched him leave, her voice trembling as she called out, "Dad." But Charles didn't even pause. He walked out without looking back. Yolanda sat up in bed, clutching the blanket tightly as she muttered angrily, "Ugh, that terrible mom. If it weren't for you, Dad wouldn't treat me and Miss Naomi like this. I hate you! I really hate you!" After leaving the café, Teresa picked a direction and wandered off. Before she knew it, she'd ended up farther and farther from the mall. The wind was fierce and the snow was dumping down.
She didn't bother with an umbrella, just getting soaked and battered by the weather, looking completely miserable. With her injury and the snow-covered ground, a walk that should've taken ten minutes ended up taking her thirty. She figured she might as well head back to the mall-and maybe do a little shopping while she was at it. She'd barely walked a few steps when her phone started ringing. She checked the caller ID-it was Troy. After a moment's hesitation, she picked up. "Hello?" The moment she answered, the wind howled through the phone, making it hard for Troy to hear.

Troy's voice was barely audible over the wind. "Where are you? Why is it so windy?" Teresa replied, "I'm at the mall entrance. Just thought I'd wander around for a bit." Troy didn't suspect anything. "Want to come join us?" Teresa hesitated, then shook her head. "I think I'll just wander around by myself for now." Since she said that, Troy didn't push her. But he still sounded worried. "Just make sure you get inside the mall.
The wind's really strong out there-don't catch a cold." Teresa replied, "Yeah, I know." Troy said, "Let me know when you get inside, then I'll hang up." Teresa could just barely make out the sound of a kid fussing in the background on Troy's end. uchers She knew he was hanging out with Zane. Teresa still had over twenty minutes left before she'd reach the mall, and she didn't want Troy waiting on her. "It's still a bit of a walk for me. You can hang up-go have fun with Zane," she said. As soon as she said that, Troy sensed something was off. But he didn't call her out on it.
Instead, he said, "Zane says he wants you to come play with him." After that, Troy called Zane's name a couple of times. A moment later, Teresa heard Zane's voice come through. "Uncle Troy, what's up?" Teresa couldn't see Troy's face, but she heard him say, "Didn't you say you missed Teresa?" Zane seemed to catch on. After a couple of surprised "uhs," he quickly agreed, "Yeah, I miss Teresa." Teresa laughed. "Zane, don't listen to Mr. Hamilton. You don't have to say things you don't really mean just because he asks you to." Zane's clear, innocent voice came through.
"I'm not just saying it-I really do miss you, Godmother." When Zane called her "Godmother," Teresa wasn't sure if she should correct him. But after thinking it over, she decided to just let it slide. "Godmother?" Zane called out tentatively when Teresa didn't respond. Teresa came back to herself and said softly, "Yeah, I'm here." Zane asked seriously, his voice full of hope, "Will you come play with me?" Thinking about her situation, Teresa gently refused, "I can't come play today." Zane's voice was full of disappointment.
"Alright then." But then, Teresa suddenly said, "But if you want to come over to my place, I'd be more than happy to have you." Zane cheered, "Yay!" Then, as if something just popped into his head, he asked a little hesitantly, "Can I bring Uncle Troy with me?" Teresa was a little surprised, but she quickly replied, "Of course you can." Hearing her agree, Zane shouted excitedly, "Awesome! I'm going to visit-uh, Godmother's place!" But then, Teresa let him know straight, "Zane, Monica will be there too." As soon as he heard Monica's name, Zane's enthusiasm instantly dropped.
"Wait, then 1-ow!" Teresa knew that "ow" was probably Troy giving him a little nudge. ets But Zane quickly piped up again, "Godmother, I still want to come! If Monica's there, I want to visit even more!" Teresa couldn't see what was going on over there, but she had a pretty good idea. Everybody knew Zane was kind of intimidated by Monica. Monica could be a bit bossy, but everyone liked her. Zane actually enjoyed hanging out with her-he just worried she'd always win their little arguments. After hanging up, Teresa took her time heading to the mall.
She browsed around for a while, but ended up leaving empty-handed. When she finally stepped out, it was already afternoon. During her time at the mall, Troy kept calling her, just to make sure nothing happened to her. In Riverdale, winter afternoons flew by-darkness fell early, and before you knew it, it was already evening. So Teresa figured she should head home early and cook something nice for Zane. As she left the mall, Teresa hopped in the back of a cab. She was just about to tell the driver her address when both rear doors flew open at once.
Two guys jumped in, each taking a seat beside her. They looked rough-bad news written all over their faces, clearly up to no good. Before Teresa could even react, the driver hit the gas and sped off. The car headed straight out toward the edge of town. Teresa found herself wedged between the two men in the back seat, her nerves on edge as she tried to figure out who they were and what they wanted. She had no idea who was behind this or why they were after her. She ventured, trying to keep her voice steady, "Look, I don't even know you guys.
Maybe you've got the wrong person?" The guy with a nasty scar running down his face shot her a vicious glare and barked, "No way. You're exactly who we came for." Teresa's brow furrowed, her confusion growing. "Where exactly are you taking me?" she asked, her voice tinged with anxiety. Wedged between the two men, Teresa was completely trapped-there was no chance of escape. The scar-faced guy was clearly losing patience with all her questions. With a swift, practiced motion, he chopped the edge of his hand right into Teresa's neck.
He knew exactly what he was doing-Teresa blacked out on the spot. Editorial board Editorial Board: Our editorial team works behind the scenes to refine each chapter, maintain consistency, and deliver the best reading experience.
