Chapter 444 Chapter 445 Teresa caught the meaning behind Charles's words. He was talking about Troy. She yanked her hand back with force, shouting at Charles, "What's it to you?" Charles gripped her arm tightly, pulling her closer. His voice was low and intense as he pressed on, "He just spouts a few sweet words, and you actually believe him?" Teresa glared at him fiercely. "Charles, shut up." Charles closed the distance between them, forcing Teresa back against the wall. He braced his hand against the wall beside her head, caging her in.
Teresa found herself pinned between Charles and the wall. He lowered his head, his dark eyes locked onto Teresa's pale cheeks. He just stared at her in silence, his gaze unwavering. Teresa, unnerved by the intensity of his stare, couldn't take it anymore and turned her face aside. At that moment, Charles used his leg to swing the bathroom door shut. Seeing this, Teresa felt a chill run down her spine.
She blurted out uneasily, "Charles, what are you trying to do?" Charles slammed her against the wall, speaking through gritted teeth as he warned, "Teresa, don't forget- we're still married." Teresa glared right back at him, her words cutting. "You and Naomi are practically planning your wedding already. It's only a matter of time before we get divorced." Charles pinned her hand to the wall, his voice low and firm. "But for now, at least, we're still married." Teresa let out a cold laugh. "Charles, people say you're into Naomi, that you treat her right, but I don't see it.
You don't care about anyone but yourself." Her anger was so intense that the veins in her neck stood out. Charles's dark eyes stayed locked on her, and after a long moment, he gave a dry chuckle and shot back, "Is that so?" Teresa didn't flinch as she stared him down. "Yeah, because you don't even know how to love anyone." Her words stung even more. "And you think Troy really knows how to love? Look at all the women around him. Do you honestly believe you're the only one in his heart?" Teresa shoved Charles's hand off the wall and yelled, "Charles, stop talking about other people.
You think you're any better? You and Naomi are practically all over each other in public. Is there anything you two 55 vouchers haven't done?" Charles blurted out, trying to explain, "Teresa, nothing ever happened between me and Naomi..." But Teresa didn't want to hear it. "That's enough. There's nothing left to say between us." Seeing Charles move to grab her again, trying to trap her in his arms, Teresa didn't hesitate. She whipped her head around and bit down hard on his arm, showing no mercy. She bit with such force that her jaw actually trembled from the effort.

Charles let out a low, pained grunt. But even then, Teresa still wouldn't let Charles's face turned white with pain. Seeing Teresa still wouldn't let go, his hand shot up, as if to strike her. But his hand froze in midair. While he was still stunned, Teresa gave him a hard shove and, leaning on her crutch, limped out of the bathroom. When the door swung open, there were several people outside, obviously listening in. When they realized it was Teresa and Charles, everyone just looked at each other, stunned and confused.
Teresa didn't even look at them-she walked right past and left without a second glance. Charles stood there, holding his arm where she'd bitten him, watching Teresa's retreating figure. She didn't move fast, but every step was rushed, like she was trying to escape him as quickly as she could. Because of that, her hurried, uneven steps made her look almost ridiculous. On her way out, she ended up colliding with two people. She nearly stumbled, but one of them caught her just in time, keeping her from falling.
Teresa ducked her head and mumbled, "Sorry." She scrambled away, looking a total mess-desperate and lost. Charles just stood there, unmoving. He whispered under his breath, "Is this really what you want?" Teresa practically collapsed into her seat, looking totally wrecked, her heart still racing out of control. Every step she took was haunted by those bad memories from the past. She didn't want to spend another second around Charles. As soon as she sat down, Teresa could feel eyes on her. She turned and locked eyes with Naomi, who looked puzzled.
Naomi seemed about to say something, but Teresa just gave her a brief look and quickly looked away. Not long after, Charles came back. Naomi glanced at him, looking confused. "Charles, where'd you go?" Charles said offhandedly, "Just stepped out for a smoke." Naomi smiled softly, nestling against his arm. She lowered her voice and asked, "Charles, did you hear the piece I just played?" Charles turned to her and gave her a gentle smile. "Yeah, I heard it." Naomi's smile froze instantly. She was just testing him.
She'd actually been about to go on stage, but the organizers messed up the piano setup, so she had to head back down. She hadn't expected Charles to be totally in the dark about all that. Just then, Charles shifted his arm and whispered to Naomi, "Naomi, a little kitten scratched me just now. It hurts a bit, so maybe don't lean on me for now." Naomi asked worriedly, "A kitten scratched you? Let me take a look." She reached out to pull up his sleeve, but Charles gently moved her hand away. "It's nothing, not a big deal." Naomi glanced down and saw blood on her palm.
She couldn't help but wonder, 'Could a kitten really make someone bleed this much?' But since Charles clearly didn't want her to see, she didn't push it. With so many people watching, if Charles kept turning her down, she'd just end up embarrassed. Even though she was pretty sure Charles was making things up, Naomi didn't call him out on it right then.
She kept smiling at Charles and asked, "Charles, since you love listening to me play the piano so much, how about I play for you for the rest of our lives?" Charles hesitated for a moment, almost imperceptibly, before finally answering, "Yeah." Seeing him agree, Naomi's smile grew even brighter. "You've heard me play so many times-aren't you ever tired of it?" Charles's smile grew more mischievous. He playfully brushed Naomi's nose and said, "Of course not. How could I ever get tired of your playing?" Teresa sat at her seat, listening in on Charles and Naomi's conversation.
But at this moment, she felt nothing at all-her heart was completely numb. In fact, her mind was already consumed by another man. Editorial board Editorial Board: Our editorial team works behind the scenes to refine each chapter, maintain consistency, and deliver the best reading experience.
