---- Chapter 380 "Yes, Mr. Grant." Sebastian hung up the call. He gazed out into the garden downstairs and saw Martha and Valeria walking together. They were holding hands as they chatted and laughed merrily. As a breeze blew past, Sebastian could vaguely hear the two women talking about him. He wasn't sure if he was just imagining it or not, though. Martha and Valeria were in fact talking about Sebastian- specifically Sebastian when he was a child. "There used to be a sycamore tree here in the garden.
Sebastian started climbing it when he was four and even built a treehouse for himself up there, insisting on living in it. He'd climb up the tree every time he got into an argument with Nicholas. Sebastian was always very agile in that way. "But one day Nicholas had the tree chopped down to try and get to Sebastian. Angry with his father, Sebastian hid underneath Florian's study desk. He knew Nicholas would never search for him in Florian's room," Martha said. Valeria could hear the warmth in Martha's tone as she spoke.
Martha had never forgotten all the memories she'd shared ---- with her children when they were young. Martha had mentioned Florian too-a name that was rarely mentioned in the Grant family household. It always seemed to have a heavy presence to it. "Had Florian been very mature when he was young? Just like... " Valeria said before pausing. She stopped walking with Martha too. Martha seemed to know what Valeria was implying. 'Just like Sebastian when he was in high school'. Sebastian was a calm and cool person in high school with very good grades to boot.
He never upset Nicholas during those days. He was often favored by both parents and teachers alike for his diligence and composure. The better Florian was, the more he overshadowed Sebastian. Sebastian had locked himself in his room after Florian died. Sebastian had then started adopting behavior similar to Florian's due to survivor's guilt, as well as his aching desire to be loved by his parents. "Florian wasn't actually older than Sebastian. Though they were twins, it was Sebastian who was born first. The nurse had just made an error in their birth sequence when tying their nametags.

"We always thought Florian was born first. But the nurse then ---- informed us two weeks post-delivery that the twin who'd come out first had a mole on his back," Martha said. Martha composed herself as she started getting emotional from recalling these things. These memories were very precious to her. She patted Valeria's hand and said, "I'm sure you've seen the mole. It's near his tailbone." Valeria's cheeks grew warm as a night breeze blew across her face. She shrugged. "I hadn't noticed." They continued strolling through the garden.
Valeria then said, "If Sebastian was Florian's big brother, I'm sure he would've been a really good one." "valeria , I do hope you and Sebastian live a long and happy life together. I won't intervene in any choices you two make. In fact, I'd support it. I'm not that old school after all. But I do hope then you can regulate your body and have a baby with Sebastian." Martha wasn't sure why it was so hard for the Grant family to produce children of their own. She'd gone to church and prayed for such a miracle every month. Alexander had been adopted, and Florian had passed away.
As for Sebastian... even though he'd married Valeria and Martha did adore Selena, Selena still wasn't Sebastian's child by blood. ---- Nowadays, Martha looked forward to Leo's after school visits home. All her old friends had grandchildren of their own who'd already started high school... How could Martha not be worried? "Just focus on getting to term and delivering the baby, Valeria. I'll look after the baby for you afterwards, and the two of you can continue spending time alone with one another ," Martha suggested. "Mom..." Valeria couldn't help but nod as she gazed at Martha.
She then thought about having Selena come over and have this discussion with Sebastian. Valeria and Sebastian had always feared that Selena wouldn't accept something like this. But Valeria remembered how Selena had seen Sebastian cradling the former and even helped the couple close the door. Valeria felt like Selena was carrying such a great weight on her shoulders. All of a sudden, Valeria felt a pair of eyes boring into her. It felt like someone was secretly spying on her. She turned around and scanned her surroundings. She intuitively looked at the beige mansion a distance away.
There was a room on the second floor that faced the garden. Its curtains were drawn close. "Who stays there, Mom?" Valeria asked. ---- Martha followed Valeria's gaze and looked at the room. "That would be... Luke and Gabriella." Gabriella came out of the bathroom to see Lucas leaning against the window. His bathrobe was loose, revealing his well -defined abs. Gabriella's eyes shyly traced downward. She walked over to Lucas, manicured fingers caressing his chest. She then leaned into his chest and murmured, "Luke... Why don't you stay a little while?
The night is still young." Lucas was going drinking with his friends later and would be partying all night at a club. He still had an hour to go and had thought to leave earlier. But it just so happened that he was able to get a view of Valeria's delicate figure through the gaps between the curtains here. Hence he'd lingered a little longer.
