---- Chapter 320 Sebastian gripped Valeria's fingers tightly, and Valeria looked upat him. The two of them arrived at the city hall and lined up. Sebastian seemed a little nervous. There were several couples ahead of them today, and now, one after another, it was finally their turn to sit down on the chairs. Sebastian's fingertips pressed down hard on the pen, and his nervous handwriting was slightly smudged. Asudden ringtone broke the silence. Valeria glanced at the clock. She was just about to start filling in the form when she realized it was Sebastian's phone.

He got up to answer the call. The call lasted for about six minutes, and Valeria waited for him the whole time. When Sebastian came back, there was a serious expression on his face. He gently put his palm on her shoulder as he lowered his head. "My mom had a bit of an accident . She twisted her ankle going downstairs and fell. She's doing a CT scan at the hospital, but there's no result yet." Valeria moved to stand up, but Sebastian pressed her down, saying, "You should visit Mrs. Grant Sr. first." Martha was getting older, and her elderly bones were fragile.

---- Asudden fall like that would take a long time to recover from. Sebastian's phone rang again. After he answered the call, he frowned. "Mom, how are you now?" "It's nothing serious. Mallory is here with me," Martha said on the other end. "Are you still in Broburgh City?" "I'm getting old. I was going down the stairs without my reading glasses and couldn't see clearly." She went on grumbling about Nicholas , who sat beside her. "It's all your father's fault for buying that gaudy new carpet." Nicholas snorted coldly and shook off his hand that had been supporting her. "T'm in Slate City.

I won't be able to get to you until an hour anda half later." After completing the paperwork and the drive, it would still take them about an hour at the quickest . "You came back to Slate City and didn't tell me? Are you coming home for dinner tonight?" Martha asked. Sebastian shot Valeria a deep glance. "Yes. I'll bring someone over to visit you." "Who could it be? If only you'd bring home a daughter-in-law for me. Don't tell me you're planning to bring Nemo home. Does that count as a person?" Martha sighed loudly from her wheelchair.

Then, she turned to look at Nicholas' aged face and sighed even louder. "Look at me. I'm already falling and ending up in the hospital at my age. When will I ever see you get married ---- and have children? I fear I might never live to see the day." "Tonight will be the day," Sebastian replied in a low and steady tone. His palm slid along Valeria's back. Valeria sat in the chair, with Sebastian standing behind her. His eyes were fixed on her neck, and he couldn't resist reaching out to brush away a stray lock of hair. She turned and took hold of his fingers.

On the other end, Martha thought she must have misheard Sebastian. Flustered, she claimed that she felt a bit dizzy. Nicholas, despite always bickering with her, frowned and steadied her. "Where are you feeling unwell?" Sebastian ended the call. Martha leaned against Nicholas, while Mallory rushed to call a doctor, only for Martha to stop her. "['m fine." Martha stared at the phone screen. Was she hallucinating? Her son, that robot-like man, actually said he was bringing a girlfriend back? Martha stood up excitedly, only for her to sway unsteadily. Mallory went pale and grabbed her arm.

"Mom, are you alright?" The whole family had come along, waiting quietly in line and keeping a low profile. ---- Nicholas frowned. "You just twisted your ankle, and now you're talking nonsense. Did you hit your head?" He looked at Mallory and waved, "Go get Ruby." "No, I feel fine now. Look, my foot isn't even hurting anymore. " Martha grabbed Nicholas' hand. Then, she said to Mallory, " Go hire a five-star private chef for tonight. Prepare a proper dinner at home. But make it warm and homely. I don't want any fancy dishes. It should feel like eating with family."
