---- Chapter 289 Valeria only realized she had left her purse behind when she was about to call a cab at the restaurant entrance. As she turned, she saw Sebastian's tall, distant figure in the dark of the night. His car was parked outside, so Calvin opened the door for him. The moment Sebastian got in, the bag's chain slipped from his arm, glimmering faintly in the dark. Her bag was with Sebastian. There was nothing much inside the bag. Valeria had her phone with her. The rest was just compact powder, lipstick, and the like.
When she got home, Selena said to her excitedly, "Mommy, I heard Nemo today! It lives right next door. Does Mr. Grant live next door, too? "When I was coming home from school, the dog next door was barking, I thought it sounded exactly like Nemo, so I called out its name. It answered from behind the door. It really was Nemo. Even Potato could tell it was Nemo." Valeria glanced at the silly dog sprawled on the couch. Could dogs really tell each other apart by their voices? She had been living here for a year, and no one had ever ---- moved in across the hall.
She nodded to Selena and told her Nemo lived there. "In that case, can I take Potato to play with Nemo after school?" Selena asked. Valeria couldn't say no to that. Looking into Selena's bright eyes, she nodded with a smile. Selena was already nine years old and had a mind of her own. If she wanted to do something, Valeria wouldn't interfere. Besides, Valeria liked Nemo too. She could never resist petting its head when it wagged its tail at her. After the early morning meeting the next day, people began to leave the conference room.

Kayla stopped Valeria with a hand on her shoulder, saying, "This is weird. At 10:00 am earlier, I received an email from Exice International. They have agreed to work with us. "They gave us the prime spot on the first floor. No competing stores are in the surrounding area. They even promised to handle the marketing for the opening day. Why has Zion suddenly agreed so easily?" Kayla stared at Valeria's face and whispered, "Did you seduce him?" Valeria shrugged, denying it. Suddenly, there was a knock on the conference room door.
Willow poked her head in and reported, "There's a flower ---- delivery at the front desk for Ms. Neal. She needs to sign for it. It was a huge bouquet of red roses. Kayla glanced at Valeria, thinking Zion was still trying to pursue her. She reached the front desk before Valeria could and read the card on the bouquet. Puzzled, she read the sender's name. "Seth Torres?" Valeria walked over and signed for the delivery. She frowned lightly, took the card from Kayla's hand, and walked back to her office without a word. A few employees had gathered, gossiping softly.
Kayla shooed them away and followed Valeria into the office. She then watched Valeria calmly switch on her computer, showing no interest in the flowers outside. Resting both hands on the desk, Kayla asked, "A suitor? Why haven't I heard about him before?" Valeria rubbed her temples, feeling a headache coming. She then told Kayla about what had happened last night. "Has Mr. Grant gone insane, setting you up with a blind date? " Kayla's voice rose in disbelief. Pointing at her own temple, she asked, "Has he been messed up here after his illness?" Valeria lowered her gaze.
"Maybe." She had no idea what was going on with Sebastian , and she certainly didn't plan on seeing him again. ---- She was merely a design director. The company's dealings with Grant Group usually went through Kayla directly , and there was no reason for Valeria to have further contact with him. However , Sebastian had taken it upon himself to introduce her to potential suitors. Thinking of the profiles she had seen on his iPad last night, she still felt both helpless and amused. Kayla had her friend dig up information on Seth Torres, then gaped at the results.
"He's 26 years old, a Haffard University graduate. Parents are both university professors. Only child. His grandfather is the deputy director of the Broburgh City Quantum Research Institute. His grandmother is a heritage master of embroidery.
