---- Chapter 335 Valeria had decided on the cider because she felt her throat itcha little. Suddenly, her wrist trembled. It was Sebastian grabbing her hand. As he lowered his head slightly, his eyes were cloudy, and his gaze seemed dimmer. " What are you thinking about?" Why did she look weary? Why had she lowered her gaze as if she wasn't happy and full of worries? Sebastian was far too attentive to every tiny shift in her expression, only magnifying any trace of her hesitation or doubt. They had gotten married today, making the entire day like a dream to him.
However, when they returned to the Grant residence earlier tonight, he realized just how deeply the past had scarred Valeria. Sebastian had no idea if running into Gabriella would stir any negative thoughts in Valeria's heart or not. After leaving the house and coming here, he listened to Valeria reminisce endlessly about her university days. Her tone was calm, and she even had a soft smile. However, his heart only sank even lower, knowing all too well just how much he had missed. He also knew well that some wounds would never heal and only leave permanent scars.

Even if they faded, they remained ---- for life. Would she divorce him one day? Would their future last forever? How could Sebastian hold onto Valeria's hand forever? He longed to probe her heart. Did he even have a place in it at all? At that moment, he was overwhelmed with a sense of helplessness. "I was wondering if you're okay now. Does your stomach still hurt? The doctor said you need to drink liquids this week and possibly some softer foods. Do you have vegetables in the fridge? I can make some soup for you tomorrow," Valeria said softly, patting him on the hand.
It was a signal for him to let go. Sebastian froze. As he looked into her eyes, she looked radiant whenever she smiled. Valeria's hair fell to her shoulders, tied into a low, messy bun. The evening breeze drifted by. Valeria wore a pale blouse with a small V-neck, revealing her pale skin. It was paired with blue jeans. It was the same outfit that she wore when they took their photo. As always, she seemed so pure and gentle. "I... Was that what you were thinking about earlier? About what I should eat?" Sebastian asked softly. Her words lifted his lips into a faint smile.
---- "Yes." Valeria nodded. After finishing the wrap, she felt a little thirsty. Noticing Sebastian was still carrying the half- finished watermelon juice, she caught his hand and bent her head to sip from the straw. She added, "You haven't eaten yet, and I've already had the wrap. What do you want to have? Are you okay with bolognese pasta now? I could make you some tomorrow."" Sebastian murmured, "I want scrambled eggs." Valeria nodded. It was definitely a good choice for him-it was soft and easy to swallow.
"I'll make it for you tomorrow morning." She went off to buy the spiced apple cider. Since they were at the street fair, it was natural for them to line up separately, so she told Sebastian to wait at the pudding stall. Ten minutes later, Sebastian got the pudding. He turned and suddenly realized that Valeria was nowhere in sight. She'd said she was going to buy the cider, but none of the people lining up was her. Crowds were streaming endlessly past him. Sebastian scanned the unfamiliar faces around him before pulling out his phone to dial her number.
She didn't answer the first time, causing him to frown. Then, she finally picked up after the second call. ---- "Where are you?" Sebastian had only lost sight of her for a few minutes , yet he was already gripped with fear of losing her. 'They were married now. She had even promised to make him breakfast tomorrow morning , so why did he feel like he did not have the entirety of her? The reason was that she would never love with the same unreserved passion she once had in their youth. In that instant , he understood something -the Jane who had once loved him so deeply might never return.
