---- Chapter 318 Valeria pulled the blanket over her face. At first, the thin summer blanket didn't feel suffocating since the air conditioner was on. However, after a while, a fine layer of sweat started to form on her forehead. When she gently lowered the blanket, she was met with a pair of deep, piercing eyes. Sebastian was holding her through the thin fabric, locking her tightly in his arms. Valeria felt her head tingle under his raw, intense gaze.

She had no choice but to whisper, "Not tonight." "Okay, we'll save it for our wedding night." Sebastian pressed his palm against her hair by her cheek. He lowered his head and lightly nibbled at her earlobe. He sucked at it, as if he was trying to quench his thirst. Her blood rushed to her face in an instant. That action, like electricity , had sent a jolt through her, numbing half of her face. Sebastian hadn't expected her to be so sensitive. Her face was completely flushed, so he grazed her lightly with his teeth before letting go.

No longer teasing her, he closed his eyes and simply hugged her. His slightly heavy breath fell on her face. "Let's sleep," Sebastian murmured. ---- Under the blanket , Valeria's fingers stroked the ring on her hand. The sharpness of the diamond and the foreign weight between her fingers reminded her again and again that she was going to marry this man. That night, both of them drifted into shallow sleep. Their minds were too overstimulated. With what was looming tomorrow, every turn woke them, and even the faintest sound would rouse them.

So, when Valeria felt a heavy weight pressing against her chest in the second half of the night, her drowsy mind stirred. She instinctively reached out to push it away, but her fingertips brushed through his short, coarse hair. Half-asleep, she murmured, "Don't bite me there. It tickles..." Whether it was his hair or his stubble, it pricked against her skin. Valeria had driven for a long time during the day, so she would have normally slept soundly. However , she was half - conscious, hovering between dreaming and being awake.

She had no idea whether it was because it had been so long since she'd slept beside him or because they would be going to the city hall tomorrow. Her soft, drowsy whispers didn't seem to sound like protests, either. Instead, they sounded like gentle teasing. Sebastian fastened the buttons of her top, relying entirely on his own self-restraint. ---- What was the rush? They had a lifetime ahead. That was what Sebastian thought. And with that, he closed his eyes. However, sleep never came until it was bright outside.

His mind grew more restless, and he found himself constantly wishing that it was already 9:00 am. The first light of dawn spilled through the glass windows, casting a glow onto the two of them who were still lying in bed through the beige cotton curtains. This had once been Valeria's room. Everything was arranged almost exactly as before, except for the bed underneath them. It was no longer an old cotton mattress. When she turned around, the mattress gave a soft bounce. However, the bed was small, and just enough to fit Valeria alone comfortably .

It would be fine if she were sleeping with Selena as well, but now, the man next to her was over six feet tall. Sebastian lay at the edge, turned on his side. He had one arm folded beneath his head, and his long legs had no space to stretch. Valeria lay on the inside. On this small bed, she alone took up most of the bed. A mischievous thought crossed her mind. Would he fall off if she had just pushed him? ---- She reached out, but instead of pushing him, her palm rested gently against his forehead. Then, pulling back, she touched her own forehead.

The temperature seemed a bit high, but he wasn't burning. As she moved to check his forehead again, Sebastian moved. He hadn't slept a wink all night, so he'd known the moment Valeria was awake.
