---- Chapter 276 Sebastian withdrew his gaze from Valeria, gave a slight nod to Calvin, and strode away. Calvin then followed behind him. Kayla glanced at Sebastian's back and muttered, "Nemo? When did he get married? It's only been three years. Does he have a child already?" She hooked her arm through Valeria's and continued , "Have you heard anything about this Valeria just shook her head. Kayla lowered her voice and continued, "I did hear about something else. Rumors say that Mr. Grant had been gravely ill and had just come out of the ICU not long ago.
Don't you think he looks emaciated right now?" Sebastian's current physique only seemed to confirm that the rumors were not exactly baseless after all. Valeria followed Kayla to the stable and looked up to find Sebastian ona horse. He leaned forward slightly, running his fingers over the horse's mane. His handsome face looked rather hollow from the recent weight loss, his figure sharper and leaner than before. Clearing the jump with ease, he then slowed down to ride the ---- horse at a leisurely pace.
Valeria's eyes drifted away as she raised her hand to brush aside the strands of her hair blown loose by the wind. She turned to the eager Kayla and said, "Go on ahead. I'd like to take some time to choose my horse." Kayla was a member of the turf club and had her own chestnut colored pony named Cloudy. Valeria also helped Kayla take a few photos with her horse. The sun was just starting to set, making it the perfect background for photos. Back in the stables, Valeria spotted a small horse hiding in the back. It was nearly half the size of the other adult horses.
The horse trainer explained that it did not have a pure bloodline. Despite already being an adult horse, it was only suitable for smaller riders. It also had a gentle temper, although it did not run very fast. They then let Valeria lead the horse around for a while to get familiar with each other. Zion rode over and invited her to share a horse with him, but she turned him down.

After walking with the horse for a bit, the trainer helped Valeria onto the horse's back and guided her around a few laps around the stable while explaining about the safety ---- procedures, Valeria rode the little horse at a steady pace and eventually wandered out onto the field. It was green all around her, and the warm breeze swept away the drowsiness of the summer season. She dismounted from the horse and savored the scenery. It was a rare moment of peace within the bustling city. Everyone yearned for freedom, be it man or animal.
The little horse that had long been confined to its stall in the stable was no different . It grazed around the field and then pranced happily across the grass while remaining within Valeria's line of sight. Valeria looked up at the vast blue sky. The sunset slowly moved from behind the clouds, painting the clouds and the grass fields below in shades of red. When she turned back, the little horse was already gone. "Chalky ?" Valeria called out for it a few times, but she still saw no trace of it.
The field stretched out for hundreds of acres, so vast that the naked eye could not even see its edge. It was part of the turf club's private grounds and was enclosed by fences, so Valeria was not particularly worried about Chalky running off. She pulled out her phone and called Kayla, asking her to check with the horse trainer to see whether Chalky had returned to the stable. ---- She believed that the professionally trained horses should be familiar with their surroundings. Valeria then started making her way back. Tt was 5:30 pm.
The trip out to the field did not seem that long on horseback, but trekking back to the stable on foot under the late summer sun was way too different. summer in Broburgh City was much cooler than in Slate City, but her phone still showed a temperature reading of 82 degrees Fahrenheit. Fatigue slowly started to set in her body. Just then, the sound of hoofbeats rang out. Asleek horse neighed and came to a halt beside Valeria. Sebastian held the reins and sat tall in the saddle, his deep eyes fixated on her.
Within his view was a woman with a faint flush across her cheeks and strands of hair damp with sweat sticking to her temples. He reached out his hand. "Get on." The purebred Akhal-Teke stallion, worth over a million dollars, stood over two meters tall. Its mane flowed with the wind, and its hooves struck the ground with a loud clack. Its coat gleamed beautifully in the golden glow of the sunset. Sebastian was also clad in the same color as he rode on top of it, his physique sharp and lean. With his back facing the ---- sunlight, his silhouette seemed even more imposing.
Valeria lifted her head to look at him, but she could not see his eyes within the shadow.
