---- Chapter 349 "| don't. Enough talking, Sebastian. Aren't we supposed to be heading back to Broburgh City? Have you packed your suitcase already?" Valeria spoke as she tried to get up, pushing against his chest. However, when she tried to stand, he pressed her back down again, his strength absolute. He had no intention of letting her go so easily. "Do you remember what you said that night?" Valeria closed her eyes. "Let's break up." Those were the words Sebastian least wanted to hear. His brows twitched sharply, his voice dropping low.

"Before that -when I was helping you." Valeria couldn't bring herself to say something so embarrassing. The more she thought of it, the hotter her cheeks burned. How had she let him coax her into it back then? How had she been so compliant in bed, saying those things at his urging? The study was large, and the atmosphere thickened , causing her whole body to turn red under its heat. Valeria's salvation came when her phone rang. Sebastian glanced at the screen, then answered and held it to her ear.

"Mommy, what time are you coming home this afternoon?" ---- "Around 6:00 pm." "Then, let's have dinner together." "Alright. Wait for me at home." Once the call ended, Valeria pushed Sebastian away. This time, he let her do it. He also wanted to see their daughter soon. Pinching her cheek, he said, "Save those words for tonight." On the way back to Broburgh City, Valeria and Sebastian took turns driving for two hours each. The car pulled into Bay View's VIP garage. Valeria went home first, only to be greeted by Nemo and Potato.

Hearing the sound, Selena ran out of the study and threw her arms around Valeria's neck. "Mommy!" The door had been left open. Nemo was the first to trot out, slowly, rubbing against Sebastian's suit trousers. Potato followed, curious about the commotion. They seemed quite familiar with Sebastian already. Potato sniffed at him, while he crouched slightly, petting both dogs, his gaze softening as he looked at Selena. ---- "Mr. Grant." "Hey." Sebastian carried the wooden box inside. "Do you remember my mother? You've met her before. You call her Mrs. Grant Sr.

These pastries are from her." He reached out, gently brushing his hand over the girl's hair. Selena's long ponytail swayed. "Thank you, Mrs. Grant Sr. Nemo seemed to like Selena very much and stayed in Valeria's home for the night. That evening, after her bath, Valeria checked over her daughter's homework. Selena's assignments had never been a concern. The girl seemed to have inherited both Valeria's and Sebastian's intelligence. As the child of two straight-A students, she consistently ranked at the top of her class in exams. On the rare occasion she slipped, she corrected herself quickly.

At parent-teacher conferences, Valeria was always surrounded by other parents asking her for advice, but in truth, Valeria had no parenting wisdom to share. She had been extremely busy over the past three years. After Selena fell asleep, Valeria's phone rang. "Come over to my place." Valeria thought of last night. Her legs still ached a little. ---- She decided she needed to discuss this with Sebastian. Too much indulgence wasn't good. Instead, she sent hima" goodnight" sticker, then switched off her phone. Valeria got up early the next morning.

Remembering how Sebastian had said he wanted egg custard, she made two portions, along with pumpkin soup. Selena's exams and summer break were coming soon. Valeria thought to take her first to visit Margaret. After all, Margaret still didn't know about the marriage. Then, she would bring Selena along to Slate City. She messaged Sebastian, telling him she would bring breakfast over later, but he never replied. Valeria wondered if it was because she hadn't gone to his place the night before, and he was upset. At 8:10 am, the school bus driver called.

Selena, with her backpack on, was prepared to head out. As they rode down in the elevator , Selena said, "Nemo said Mr. Grant's stomach hurts." Valeria frowned. Was his stomach really bothering him? Of course, Sebastian had been overexerting himself. And over the past few days, he had barely eaten. Even at the Grant residence, he had barely touched the dishes, only sipping ---- some soup. suddenly, Valeria caught herself. "Wait, since when could Nemo talk?"
