---- Chapter 243: Soren ~ Calum ~ "Come on, Sage. We are going to be late for school," Calum called. He was going to take Sage to school. Sage rushed out of the house with Cedric, carrying her bag. She said, "Coming, Dad!" Just then, their driver approached, whispering in Calum's ear. " Sir, Mrs. Camilla is out at the gate." Cedric overheard this, leaving him and Calum staring at each other. "I'll talk to her," Cedric said, but Calum was not comfortable leaving it to his father alone. He went with his father to the gate.

There she was, Cedric's aunt, Camilla, She was nothing like the glamorous woman she used to be. Clad in a simple tunic, Camilla now appeared to have more wrinkles. Her skin no longer had that beautiful glow she once had. "Cedric," she called, tears brimming in her eyes. "I'm sorry to bother you. | just wanted to see you one last time before | leave." Calum and Cedric took a while to react. Cedric finally asked, " Where are you going?" "I'm taking Claire to a rehabilitation facility in Europe, somewhere peaceful and quiet. I'm hoping she will find peace there," Camilla answered.

Claire and Camilla were already out of prison, and had been for a while now. However, Claire had suffered during her time ---- inside because she clashed with a high-profile inmate, which led to her being forced to take illegal substances. It started as something forced, until it became an addiction. "Which facility are you taking her to? I'll help fund her treatment," Cedric offered. "No." Camilla cried. "No, you don't have to. I'll figure it out. When | went to the bank yesterday, | found out | still had a stock certificate in my safety deposit box.

| will use that instead." Camilla turned to Calum and asked, "You don't mind, do you?" Calum just shook his head. He said nothing more. Cedric, however, grabbed his wallet from his back pocket and pulled out all his cash. He said, "Here, take this instead." "| will never be able to forgive you and your family for what you did to Calum, and for stealing from the company, but you are still my sister. This is the least that | can do," Cedric said. The cash looked like it amounted to over a thousand dollars. Camilla gulped, tears spilling down her cheeks.

She accepted the money and said, "Thank you for your kindness. | want you to know that if only | could turn back time, | would have stopped my husband. Maybe | should not have married him." She carelessly wiped the tears from her face, her voice trembling as she said, "Goodbye." Camilla turned on her heel, found her car, and drove away. That was when Calum saw Claire's lifeless-looking frame leaning on the window of the car. As for Marvin and Roger, they were still serving their time. Camilla, however, had already divorced her husband while in prison.

---- After staring at the road for a while, Cedric said, "Let's go. Sage is going to be late." seek ~ Soraya ~ Meanwhile, back in New Avenport. Soraya had just attended the quarterly business review of Dalton Realty. The update was promising. Every apartment building they managed was now fully occupied, from the smallest studio units to the high-end penthouses. Their commercial spaces were leased out as well, creating a steady flow of income month after month.

With full occupancy across multiple properties and the grocery store earning consistently, the company's revenue had climbed higher than expected. Soraya left the meeting feeling confident about the direction Dalton Realty was headed. She signed a few documents with Annette but immediately left after two hours. When Soraya made it out to the driveway, she was stunned to see Amelia Dalton waiting for her. "Soraya," she stilled, gulping. "I mean, Mrs. Steel. Can | have a moment of your time?" Soraya frowned.

Over the past year, Amelia and Harrison had tried to get in touch with her, especially in recent months. "What is it, Mrs. Dalton?" she addressed Amelia like no other, completely detached. "| made this for you," Amelia said, giving her a crochet blanket. "| remember one of your first arguments with Elena. She accidentally..." Amelia paused and took it back. "Back then, Elena had ---- destroyed your crochet blanket. | thought maybe you liked crochet blankets. Maybe not now, but maybe your daughter?" 'Was she trying to get sentimental on me?' Soraya thought.

Soraya stared at the blanket and looked up at Amelia. "You never really understood. That crochet blanket was important to me because one of the nuns from the orphanage made it for me. It was that crochet blanket that was important to me, and nothing can replace it." "But I'll take it," Soraya said. Then her car pulled over in front of her. She said nothing more and got in. She put the blanket in the glove compartment. Maybe she would use it on a rainy day. Maybe she would not. ee Time flew by again, and before Soraya knew it, Lyra had given birth to her first child.

She and Jacob visited Lyra in the hospital. They came just in time while Lyra and Silas were taking pictures of each other carrying their baby. "Guys!" Lyra exclaimed. She was in tears. "I'm so glad you came!" While Soraya and Lyra shared a hug, Jacob and Silas shook hands. "Congratulations," Jacob said. He was holding a bouquet. He gave it to Silas, adding, "This is for your wife." Jacob could not give the flowers to Lyra since she was holding their baby. Lyra lifted her arms and introduced, "Meet Soren." The baby had very light hair. Clearly, he was blond, like Silas.

"Soren?" Soraya laughed. "Nice name!" ---- "And where is everyone? | imagined your families would have been all over Soren by now," Soraya said, chuckling. "They were here," both Silas and Lyra said at the same time. "They were all over Soren," Lyra added. "was not the first one to hold my son. Neither of us did," Silas revealed. "It was my mom." Only then did Soraya notice that the dining area of Lyra's birthing suite was filled with gifts and food. The group took pictures with Soren.

Both Soraya and Jacob held the baby and had solo shots too, but not long after, their other friends arrived, bringing more gifts. "Congratulations!" Luca turned up, carrying bags of food. Emil and his brother walked in behind Luca, carrying large shopping bags. "He is going to look like Silas," Emil remarked, and that made Silas look proud. "We will see about that," Lyra said, chuckling. "Can | carry him?" Emil's brother requested, and after that, all three of them took turns taking pictures with Soren. Meanwhile, Soraya and Jacob stepped back, simply watching the scene unfold.

Suddenly, Jacob leaned in, brushing a strand of her hair behind her ear. Then he whispered, "Wife, are three children enough? Don't you think it is time? Let's make it five." Soraya laughed, smacking her husband. "The expressway is going to be open in a month, and after that, | am going to be very busy dealing with my properties." She wrapped her hands around his biceps and said, "Maybe after another year. Let's wait until the twins are much older." ---- After a month, the Altum Coastal Expressway finally opened.

The moment it did, developers and investors flocked to the surrounding towns, hunting for land near the new route. Prices skyrocketed overnight, and every major real estate group began scrambling for information on who owned the prime estates in the area. That was when Soraya's company appeared at the top of the trending news. Reporters uncovered what had quietly been true for years. Azora Real Estate LLC, the company that held the most strategic land along the expressway, was solely owned by Mrs. Soraya Steel.

And just like that, all of Cedar Heights began to talk about the power Soraya held in her hands.
