---- Chapter 124: Carefree ~ Soraya ~ "My body is aching," Soraya groaned while Jacob gave her a massage in bed. He especially focused on her thighs and back. Why was Soraya's body aching? Because yesterday, Sunday, Jacob had wanted to try different positions. There was so much back-arching, leg, and hip raising involved. And yes, they did it without the rubber this time. Soraya got pounced on the bathroom countertop, on the table, and even while standing against the window of the living room, her ass pressed against the glass. Honestly, she wondered where Jacob got all the energy.
But really, the main problem was that she couldn't say no to him. He was like a drug, very addicting. "You just need to walk around and your body will adjust," Jacob said. After the massage, he lay next to her, resting his godly face on his fist. "Since you're with me now, you're going to have to keep up." Soraya, "... "Why are you so hard to resist?" Soraya grumbled, turning to lie on her back. "| could say the same thing to you," Jacob chuckled. "You're like a vixen-you seduce me even when you're doing nothing." Soraya, "... "Let's go," he said. "We have lunch with the resort owner.
He has questions about Angela's birthday." It was a Monday morning, and Angela was coming over the ---- next day for her birthday. They were going to have a little celebration, just the four of them, including Veronica. It was probably the most intimate party Angela would ever have. "Okay, okay," Soraya said, now eager to get off the bed. She wanted to get involved. She wanted to bake Angela's cake, oversee the decorations-things she had eagerly done for Sage's birthday, but never got to observe with her daughter.
During that lunch meeting, she suggested the color themes and the cartoon character for the mini celebration and listed the gifts she and Jacob hadn't been able to buy. The resort was more than happy to make the purchase for them on the mainland. The entire time, Jacob kept smiling at her. After the lunch meeting, the resort owner left. Soraya asked Jacob, "What?" "Nothing," he said. "I'm glad | have you to help me with these things. Can you imagine me, the CEO of SteelCore Industries, naming a character for-what's the name?" "Dora the Explorer," Soraya said, laughing.
"Who doesn't know Dora the Explorer?" "Dexter's laboratory?" Jacob responded, raising his brow. Then, a chuckle left his lips. "I used to leave all that to the event organizer." Soraya paused, just studying him. She smiled and responded, " 'm-" She flushed, realizing she had just acted like Angela's real mom. "I'm happy to do it." "So, what do we do today while waiting for the cake ingredients?" Soraya asked. "Let's go parasailing,' Jacob declared. Soraya had never done parasailing, so the thought made her nervous.

But once they were up in the air together, strapped ---- side by side like children on a giant swing, her nerves gave way to thrill. Their legs dangled high above the glittering ocean, the salty breeze whipping against her face as she clung to the straps of her harness. She kept sneaking glances at Jacob, who looked maddeningly calm beside her. "Oh, my god! This is crazy!" she shouted, gripping tighter. "But love it!" "You look like a kid enjoying life for the first time," Jacob teased, laughter in his voice. "Try this." To her shock, Jacob threw his hands up in the air, carefree.
" Yahoo!" At first, Soraya's stomach flipped, but then she let go too, screaming as the wind rushed past her. "Ahhhh!" Jacob's eyes crinkled as he laughed. "Your expression is priceless." During the seven years of Soraya's marriage, Calum had never taken her on a trip, not once, not even for Sage. For the first time in years, Soraya felt carefree, free from worries, free from obligations, free to simply exist and enjoy. But it wasn't just her. That vacation kept revealing new shades of Jacob too. He could unwind, laugh, and just relax. They had both committed to this escape. No laptops.
Only their phones. And even those, most of the time, were forgotten. Soraya was so grateful for that vacation with Jacob, and deep down, she felt a quiet certainty that it was only the beginning of many more happy memories together. seek ~ Calum ~ Meanwhile, back in Cedar Heights, Calum and his driver had ---- been purposely waiting outside the driveway of Summit Workforce Solutions. His lawyers had informed him that Annette Grayson had refused to take their calls and answer their emails.
Because of that, he personally sought out the senator's wife to get answers about Soraya and her supposed involvement with her husband. He had waited for two hours, and finally his efforts paid off. Calum saw Annette Grayson getting out of a chauffeur-driven car. Calum rushed out and briskly walked up to Annette. "Mrs. Grayson. Calum Montclair." Annette turned to him, stunned. "Mr. Montclair, | thought my lawyers were clear that Miss Azar and | have agreed-"" "Did Soraya have an affair with your husband?" Calum cut in, showing Annette the videos Rose had given him. "What about this?
What does this mean?" Annette looked confused while watching Calum's phone. Then, her eyes widened, as if arriving at a recognition. "It must be those two,' Annette muttered. "What do you mean?" Calum asked. "There were two women present when | confronted my husband about his affair. | assume whoever gave you these is one of them," Annette said. "Look, Mr. Montclair, all | can say is that it was a big misunderstanding. Soraya was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and my husband tried to cover up his affair by using Miss Azar." "She's innocent.
In fact, Miss Azar helped me find the real mistress." Annette sighed, adding, "It's the main reason | no longer entertained your lawyers. If anything, | owe Miss Azar ---- so much. She didn't even retaliate or sue me for slander when | had mistakenly accused her." Annette seemed to hesitate. She opened her mouth and closed it again. "Miss Azar is a good person." Then, she left without giving Calum a chance to ask more. It only left him spiraling in confusion, unsure what to feel, how to react, or how to deal with it all.
Just last week, he had been on the verge of giving Soraya another chance, only to spit out those cruel words about her being the senator's mistress. But now... apparently, it had all been a misunderstanding? Guilt twisted in him uncomfortably, though he refused to dwell on it. He could still ask Soraya's forgiveness, but a part of him whispered it might already be too late. Later, Calum returned to the office, brooding. When he walked past his support staff, he noticed two of his secretaries gushing over their phones. "Did you see Soraya's social media? She finally made one.
Then she posted a picture of herself and her boyfriend. It's so sexy!" "Oh, that Soraya. Always so secretive. She barely gave us anything but hot legs!" Calum froze, Soraya's name brushing past him like a cold wind. He went straight to his assistant and demanded, "Give me your phone. Now!"
