---- Chapter 100: The Reach of Jacob's Presence ~ Soraya ~ "I'm going to sue you, Jacob Steel!" the senator threatened. "Go ahead," Jacob said while taking the seat next to Soraya. " Sue me. See whether you'll go anywhere with it." Soraya watched as Jacob coldly turned to Annette, reminding her, "Someone also slapped my girlfriend, hurled accusations without solid proof, and someone tried to hurt her just now." "Let's see who has more ground for filing a lawsuit, you or us?" Jacob said through clenched jaws. Meanwhile, Soraya was experiencing a range of emotions.
Jacob's arrival certainly made the other party willing to listen. He was like the force that suppressed the Graysons with a few words. On the other hand, Silas became silent. His eyes followed Jacob, right up until he sat next to Soraya. When Soraya turned to Silas, he looked as though he were summing it all up. The way his eyes roamed suggested he was finally putting two and two together. "Soraya?" Silas asked, his jaw clenched tight. "Let's talk about this later," Soraya whispered. "But yes, Jacob and | are together. It's a long story." "Wait. Wait. Are you serious about this, Mr.
Steel?" Annette Grayson asked. "Soraya is your girlfriend?" "Yes," Jacob said without hesitation. "That night at the Japanese restaurant, Soraya and | were together for dinner. She stayed in the room to take a call, and | went ahead to the car. That's all there was to it." ---- "Your husband was never part of our dinner. He only barged into the room, fleeing from you," Jacob said. He turned to Soraya, urging, "Go ahead, Soraya. Show them." Annette listened to Jacob, yet ignored Soraya entirely, a harsh reminder that power controlled every outcome.
Fortunately, power was on her side that day, but not without consequences. Meanwhile, Thomas Grayson panicked. He became very restless in his seat, grabbing his wife by the arm. "Annette, let' s just go. Honey, please-" "Let go of me! | want to see what Soraya has to show me, and if Soraya is not your mistress, I'd like to know who!" Annette screamed, tears streaming down her face. Jacob then turned to the bodyguards who had followed behind him. They immediately held the senator down. Annette's lawyer wanted to object, but Mrs.
Grayson said, "I need to see this." Soraya quickly played a video on her laptop and showed it to Annette. It was from the surveillance cameras of the Japanese restaurant. The video began with someone rushing into the restaurant and banging on one of the private room doors. Mr. Grayson was then seen in a panic, hurrying out of that very room. The recording then cut to Jacob leaving the room he had shared with Soraya, and a few minutes later, Soraya emerged-just in time to cross paths with the senator. "As you can see, your husband came from another room.

He framed me as his mistress because he was protecting the real one," Soraya pointed out. At that point, Annette's nostrils flared. Her eyes widened in ---- fury. She looked at Soraya and asked, "Did you find out who he was with?" "Honey, please! Let's just leave! | promise I'll change!" the senator begged, but no matter what he did, Jacob's men kept him in his seat. Now that Soraya thought about it, these bodyguards were new faces. For a moment, she wondered who they were, but she'd have to park that thought for later. The Graysons were her priority at the moment.
"Of course, | know who his mistress is," Soraya said. "She wasn't hard to find in the surveillance cameras. You just need to search for... someone who is pregnant." "What?!" Annette screamed. Tears flooded her face as she eagerly waited for the video to load. "No! No!" The entire time, Thomas kept objecting, but after one sharp glare from Jacob, he was forced to swallow his own spit and accept his doom. When Soraya revealed the surveillance footage from inside the very room the senator had fled, Annette froze. Recognition flashed in her eyes, and her lips trembled as she stammered, "My...
my assistant? I-I thought she already had a boyfriend?" "She does. Your husband is her boyfriend," Soraya said Then, Soraya's attorney took out some documents. He said, " Mrs. Grayson, your husband purchased a condo for your assistant. She lives on the tenth floor of this building. You are welcome to confront her after this." "That's not all," Soraya said. She switched to another folder on her laptop and showed Annette more videos from within the residential building: the senator walking in with the assistant, ---- a video of them kissing in the hallway, Mr.
Grayson grabbing the assistant's ass, and more. "There are over a hundred videos and photos for you to go over. I'll send all the proof you need to file for divorce," Soraya said. "You must divorce your husband. It seems he has been leeching off you... for a very long time." That was because the Graysons' wealth came from Annette's side of the family. With no siblings to share the responsibility, Thomas Grayson took over the business. In reality, the manpower company was Annette's inheritance and had nothing to do with the Graysons. Annette practically broke down on the spot.
Soraya could understand why. Based on her and Jacob's investigation, this assistant of hers had been at Annette's side for ten long years. Only the heavens knew how long the affair had been. But while Soraya felt sorry for the senator's wife, she still crossed the line, and therefore, Soraya was convinced she had to pay. She turned to Silas. Her friend was seething, but Soraya did not know if he was angry at the Graysons... or angry at her. Silas noticed her gaze and swallowed hard before pulling a document from his bag.
He pushed it toward Annette's lawyer and said, "Our contract with NeuroSentinel is hereby terminated." Annette jolted. "What? You can't do that-" "We can," Silas cut in, his jaw tight. "The agreement included a clause requiring the maintenance of good faith and professional relations with the provider. By falsely accusing one of the system's developers, you've breached that clause and nullified the contract." "This wouldn't have dragged out if you had listened to Soraya," ---- Jacob said evenly, his words sharp but controlled. "You would have known the truth sooner, and she would have helped.
Instead, you chose to speak before thinking." "But, those women, Mr. Steel," Annette reasoned, referring to Rose and Claire. "They suggested your girlfriend was my husband's mistress." "And you believed them without question?" Jacob cut in, his tone laced with disdain. "That's why your husband's affairs slipped past you, Mrs. Grayson. Not because they were well hidden, but because you weren't looking with clarity." Jacob stood up first. "This meeting is over." Jacob's tone was final, but his gaze cut to the senator. "What isn't over is your reckoning.
My lawyers will contact you-and I'll demand compensation for defaming my girlfriend, for wasting my time, and for every billable hour of my legal team." "For now, Mrs. Grayson, we can let you deal with his mistress," Jacob said, urging Soraya to pack up her things. Minutes later, they were rushing out the door. But Silas? He walked out first. Jacob held Soraya's bag and laptop while she chased after her friend. "Silas. Silas! Silas, stop!" "Why?" Silas's voice cracked as he finally spoke in the parking lot. His face was flushed, and his whole body trembled. "Why didn't you ever tell me?
When did it start, and why him of all people?" Soraya caught her breath. Her heart felt like it was being squeezed by a hand with the way Silas reacted. "It-it just happened. | couldn't help it." "Clearly, | don't matter to you that much," Silas said before ---- walking around his car and getting in. He didn't give Soraya enough room to explain. He just left. Soraya never got the chance to talk to Silas again that night. It wasn't until the next day that he finally opened his heart, and what Soraya discovered shattered hers just as deeply.
