---- Chapter 207: Be Kind ~ Calum ~ After bathing and changing into something more decent, Calum stepped out of his room. He found Soraya and Sage in the dining area of their hotel suite. Amanda and Cedric had gone for a walk, giving Sage and Soraya their own space. "Don't cry now. This cake is huge enough to make up for the many months | haven't baked for you," Soraya said while wiping Sage's tears. "We already talked about this, remember? During our video call, | told you that things were different now," Soraya said. Sage nodded, eating her cake.

"Now, | know | baked you a big cake, but you can't eat it all in one go, okay?" Soraya smiled. "Your body can't take too much sugar." Soraya got up and fetched a glass of water. "Drink this when you're done." The entire time, Calum watched from a distance. Soraya sat back down and said, "Your dad mentioned your teachers sent you worksheets. Have you worked on them?" Sage shook her head. She sniffed away her tears and then ate another piece of cake. "Do you want me to help you?" Soraya asked. Sage looked up. She blinked a few times and nodded.

"Is it okay if we work on them at our home?" Soraya asked. " Angela will also have some homework. We can all work on them together." ---- Sage paused and then nodded. "Is she nice, Mommy?" Sage asked softly. Soraya smiled and replied, "Yes, she is. She's a little different, but in time, as you get to know her, you'll understand." "Okay," Sage said. Then, Soraya turned to Calum's direction. She glanced back at Sage, saying, "I'll talk to your dad for a while. Don't forget your water." "Okay, Mommy," Sage answered softly.

When Soraya walked up to Calum, she said, "Balcony." She led the way, and Calum followed. Once they were there, he never expected Soraya to come at him with a strike. Soraya slapped him hard across the face! "Really, Calum? Getting drunk in a bar? Getting detained at the police station?" she barked. "Is that the kind of father you want Sage to have?" Calum felt the burn on his cheek. He took a deep breath and turned to the view of Nexa Power. "I guess | deserved that." "You deserved a lot more!" Soraya snapped. "All this," she said.

"Would not have happened if you-" But she paused, taking it all back. "But | have no regrets, Calum. I'm happy where | am now." "| didn't mean for this to happen," she said, her tears flowing down her cheeks. "But when you and Sage abandoned me, | was broken." Soraya looked away, taking deep breaths. "It was Angela who healed me. My real daughter didn't want me because of you and Rose, but Angela's love filled the void in my heart. Jacob ---- did too. With him, | never felt more loved. And | will never leave that kind of love that completed me." "| stayed married to you because of Sage.

Even if you had ignored me, at least | had Sage, but when you took her away from me, | had nothing left to hold on to." Soraya's jaw tightened. "Did you really expect me to keep waiting?" "It shouldn't matter who | find my happiness with." She jabbed a finger at herself and declared, "I deserve to be happy. I've been abandoned my whole life-by my parents, by you, and at some point, by my own daughter." "So, let me be clear." She fixed her gaze on him. "You don't get to play the victim here. All you can do is accept things and make them right.

Don't ever let me hear that you waste your nights in another bar, whether here or in Cedar Heights, because what you do reflects on our daughter too!" Seeing Soraya cry that way, Calum badly wanted to hug her, to let her know how much he regretted it, but when he inched closer, she raised her palm. "No. We don't get to have that kind of relationship," she said firmly. "I'm sorry, Soraya," that was all he could say. "I want you to know that | hate myself for hurting you." She didn't answer, but later she said, "Pick yourself up, Calum. Get your life back.

As for your problem with Rose, | suggest you start by creating a trust fund for Sage. That way, you can secure most of your liquid assets under our daughter's name." Calum shared with Soraya his predicament about the ultrasound clinic. Soraya scoffed and said, "I'll ask Silas to hack into the network of that ultrasound clinic. Just give me the name, and Silas ---- and | will take care of it. Maybe he could also look into the Beckets. If she did lie about the pregnancy, I'll find out the truth.

We may not be able to use hacked information in court, but it can lead us to where we can legally obtain evidence." "Thank you, Soraya," Calum said. "I don't know how to make it up to you." "Just don't cause trouble," Soraya firmly replied. "Be a worthy father for Sage, from now on." some ~ Sage ~ Later that afternoon, Sage went to her mommy's new home to do her schoolwork. Soraya had set up a small table for them by the patio, with a perfect view of the lawn. Sage's homework involved mostly math and science activities, while Angela was coloring and creating a scrapbook.

She had colored pens, scissors, glue, and a bunch of stickers, some blank ones. "Kids, I'm just going to help the housekeeper prepare your snacks, okay? I'll be back. Be kind," Soraya said. Angela quickly wrote the word 'kind' on a blank sticker and pasted it on her forehead. When she smiled at Soraya, their mother laughed. "Very funny, Angela," Soraya said before leaving. Sage thought it was funny too, but she didn't show it. She continued answering her worksheets. While coloring her paper, Angela dropped some of her colored pens.

Sage helped pick up a few pieces and placed them back on the table. Still, she didn't utter a word. ---- Sage noticed how Angela wrote on her blank stickers again. Then, something unexpected happened. Angela suddenly put a sticker on Sage's arm, and on it, it said' KIND. "Thank you," Angela said. She didn't know why, but Angela's actions made Sage want to cry. Still, she managed to hold back. For almost a minute, she stared at the sticker. Then she looked up to Angela and smiled. "You're welcome."
