---- Chapter 145: Sienna''s Threat ~ Soraya ~ Three days had passed since Jacob was named stand-in CEO for the Montclair Group, and since then, there were no signs of any of the Montclairs in the company. Soraya knew the police were closing in on the Rowans, and that was what kept Amanda and Cedric busy. On Friday morning, Amanda had texted Soraya: [The truth is out. I'm sorry, Soraya. | wasn't able to protect you. | hated how you carried the blame for so many years, and my son never believed you.] That same day, Soraya tried to call Amanda back, but she wouldn't answer. Saturday came.
Soraya needed to take Angela to her therapy, but before leaving, she tried calling Amanda again. "They need time," Jacob said behind her. "I asked Jaxon to check on them last night, before picking you up at Aegis. They are okay. From what | gathered, they're still deciding what to release to the public. Investigations like these are sensitive." Soraya blinked, nodding. "Okay. You're right. I'm just worried." "The truth is out, Soraya," Jacob said gently. "And once it's public, everyone who ever judged you for what happened in your marriage to Calum...
they'll see you differently." "Look them in the eye. Chin up. Give them that I-told-you-so look," he ordered. Obliging, Soraya tilted her chin high at him, giving Jacob the | told you so look. ---- Ahiss left Jacob's lips. His eyes narrowed as he leaned closer, his breath warm against her ear. "I guess | deserved that. I'll let you punish me however you like. Tie me to the bed if you want." Soraya: "..." Jacob: "You can ban me from touching you for... twelve hours on Monday. But not a minute longer." Soraya: "...
Jacob: "You can even make me hold your purse in public, proudly." At that point, Soraya laughed. "I like the last one." "Hmmm." A smirk formed on Jacob's face. He pecked her cheek and said, "We can do that tomorrow. Let's go shopping with Angela. There's a problem with the bidding proposal for Belridge's road widening. | have to go to my office." "Okay, I'll see you later," she said with a smile before she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him. "Mmmm." Jacob moaned into her mouth. "Maybe | should just forget the bid-" "Go!" Soraya said, smacking his arm.
That day, Logan, one of Soraya's new drivers, drove her and Angela to the therapy center. While Angela was having her sessions, Soraya met with the center's director, introducing the latter to the newly developed learning app. "NeuroBloom isn't just another app that keeps children glued to a screen. It's designed with children on the spectrum and those with learning challenges in mind. The sessions are structured into short, guided bursts so the children don't get overstimulated, and the activities are interactive rather than passive," Soraya explained.

---- "And it doesn't end with the screen. NeuroBloom encourages offline activities. For example, a child might learn a new word or math pattern in the app, and then the app suggests a hands-on activity teachers can do with them in class." "It features a dashboard for teachers and parents, allowing adults to track progress, identify effective methods, and tailor content to meet a child's individual needs. So instead of being just 'screen time, it becomes a structured tool to help children build focus, confidence, and learning skills." "And the best part?
The app gently reminds kids when they've reached their screen-time limit," Soraya presented, showing the feature. The director leaned in with interest, looking at Soraya's tablet. Angel, the app's friendly guide, appeared and clapped her hands. "Congratulations!" Angel cheered. "You've learned different ways to say hello, sorted your shapes, and sang your ABCs! Now it's time to rest your eyes. Go tell Mommy and Daddy what you've learned today!" "And the app automatically closes. Their parents and teachers control the screen time," Soraya said.
"And it's set toa maximum of two hours per day." "Wow, that's indeed promising," the director exclaimed. "L will be giving your therapy center a year of free subscription, which you can use during your lessons. All| ask in return is that, should parents ask about it, you simply tell them about NeuroBloom," Soraya said. "You know, Miss Azar, Angela has been doing so well lately. She must have learned a lot from this app," the director said. "She learned some from the app, yes," Soraya acknowledged.
" ---- She even talks about Angel with me, like how the character in the app traveled to the safari." "Thank you so much for this opportunity. We will certainly use the app for some of our lessons," the director said, standing up to shake Soraya's hand. When Soraya returned to the waiting area, Angela was almost done with her session. She checked her phone and was surprised to see a message from Calum. It read: [I need to talk to you about Sage, and about what happened seven years ago.
Can we meet next week?] Soraya already had an idea what Calum wanted to talk about, but not necessarily about Sage. She was about to reply to Calum when someone called her attention. "Are you Jacob's girlfriend?" Soraya looked up and was stunned to see Sienna Ashford! 'How did she get past Logan?' Then she remembered the therapy center had three entrances. Sienna might not have crossed paths with the driver. But the bigger question was, how did Sienna know where Angela was having her therapies? "What do you want, Sienna?" Soraya asked, getting up to walk away from the other parents.
If she were going to talk to Sienna, it should be away from curious ears. Sienna followed her lead, and they spoke outside the center's receiving area. "| want to talk to Jacob about getting custody of Angela," Sienna said. Soraya frowned. "But you already gave up that right when you abandoned your daughter." "| changed my mind," Sienna said. "When | last saw Angela, | noticed she was already speaking. She isn't a retard and a ---- mute after all." "Excuse me? Angela is a bright girl! Clearly, you did not try to understand her situation," Soraya snapped, her blood boiling.
" | may not be Angela's legal guardian, but | would never let you have her, seeing what you are and what you think of your own daughter." Soraya turned around, but Sienna grabbed her arm. "At least I'm asking nicely," Sienna said. "Are you?" Soraya shot back. "Okay. Okay, can you just talk to Jacob about me getting Angela for a week? | want to take her to Fairmont," Sienna begged. "That's not going to happen. Jacob won't let it happen, and | will definitely not let it happen," Soraya said firmly. "What right do you have to say that? You are not Angela's mother!" Sienna snapped.
"I am!" "Well, Jacob is Angela's father, and this is his decision. Jacob has every right to decide what's best for Angela-and that's keeping her away from you," Soraya said. "You-" Sienna paused, thinking. "You are right. Angela's father has every right." Then Sienna laughed. A mischievous glint flashed in her eyes. "Tell Jacob, if he doesn't give me Angela, I'm going to tell her teal father about her existence. Then he'll take Angela away for good." Soraya's eyes widened. "WHAT. DID. YOU. SAY?" "Aren't you smart?" Sienna said, her lips twitching. "Let me make it crystal clear.
Jacob is not Angela's father!"
