---- Chapter 215: The Wedding ~ Emily Azar ~ "Finally, | know Soraya is in a good place," Emily remarked. She could not be happier. Her niece, the one she and Philip had raised as their own, had finally met a man who deserved her love. And now, that very day was their wedding day. Emily studied the entire venue. Jacob and Soraya's wedding in Burnell was set on the edge of a breathtaking cliff overlooking the vast sea.
A massive, custom-made, crystal-clear vinyl tent enveloped the entire outdoor garden, its arched ceiling giving guests an unobstructed view of the blue horizon and soft white clouds above. At the forefront stood an elevated platform made of pristine white stone, leading directly to the altar. An enormous floral arch dominated the platform, towering with layers of roses, orchids, tulips, and peonies, interlaced with delicate vines of eucalyptus and ivy. Flowing ivory curtains framed its base, billowing softly in the coastal breeze.
Behind it, the ocean stretched endlessly, a living backdrop for the union of two souls. The entire venue was designed to accommodate more than two thousand guests. Round tables dressed in satin ivory linens filled the sides of the aisle, each adorned with cascading crystal vases bursting with fresh blooms. Each chair, cushioned in velvet cream and trimmed with gold, reflected the soft light from the chandeliers above. ---- On either side of the grand platform stood towering LED screens, displaying close-up views of the ceremony so that no guest, near or far, would miss a single moment.
The screens blended seamlessly with the décor, bordered by climbing florals and gold lattice frames. Every inch of the venue was draped in luxury, from the floral archways lining the entrance to the trellised pathways heavy with white blooms. While waiting for the wedding to start, servers glided through the venue, offering sparkling champagne and artfully arranged canapés. An acoustic band played in the background, its melodies beautifully entwined with the rich tones of a grand piano. It wasn't just a wedding; it was a statement.

It was a celebration so exquisite that Burnell had never seen anything like it. The union of Jacob and Soraya was already being called the wedding of the decade! "Let's have pictures together before the wedding starts," Amanda suggested. Everyone was dressed in their respective elegant gowns and suits. They all gathered with Veronica, even calling Jacob to join their pictorial. The kids, Angela and Sage, also participated. Only Calum did not join. He sat amongst his friends, Melvin and Luke, chatting in private. The rest of the guests formed groups of their own.
The executives and employees from Aegis Core Systems gathered around Silas. He was mostly entertaining the Sharma couple, ---- including their son, Doctor Rohan. Of course, those who were supporting Soraya in her business ventures were also present: Luca, Lyra, Emil, and her new employees of her small yet rising company. The team at Azar Investments was invited too, especially those who followed Soraya's leadership in stocks and forex trade. On the other side were Jacob's executives at SteelCore Industries, his lawyers, his assistants, and many more.
Business partners of the Montclair Group were also present, including several of Greg Foster's colleagues. Above all, the most affluent families from all three cities, Burnell, Cedar Heights, and Belridge, came to attend the union of Soraya and Jacob. "Everyone, we are about to start," the wedding coordinator announced. Jacob, who was with them at that time, took a deep breath and said, "About time." Emily watched as Jacob looked back. A huge floral arch blocked his view of wherever Soraya was. "Have you seen her, Aunt?" Jacob asked. Emily laughed and tapped Jacob on the arm.
"I'm sure she's somewhere there, waiting for her cue." Veronica quickly brought the twin boys, Aiden and Sawyer. " Here, kiss the twins for good luck." Jacob laughed and pecked each child on the cheek. "Say good luck to Daddy and Mommy. We are getting married." The twins, just about a month old, yawned. Veronica quickly ---- returned the babies to the nannies and positioned herself for the processional march. Everyone important in Soraya's life was part of the ceremonial walk. On Jacob's side, it was mostly his trusted employees like Nelson. Melvin was part of the groomsmen.
As far as Emily knew, Jacob offered a slot to Calum, but he politely declined Emily held the urge to roll her eyes, but the past was over now, and they had moved on. The Azars were willing to let things go for Cedric and Amanda, and, of course, Sage. Jacob walked to the front and stood at the altar, waiting. The music started, and the entourage march began. Videographers and photographers captured every moment. Before Soraya could appear, the flower girls, Sage, Angela, and two daughters of Jacob's business partners, showered the marbled aisle with rose petals.
Angela, for one, was having fun. She smiled brightly as she tossed flowers on the ground, sometimes taking a full turn to look at Sage. It made Sage smile back and shake her head at the same time. Since Soraya became her mother, Angela had blossomed. Her smiles came easier, her words flowed more freely, and a quiet confidence seemed to radiate from her. Before the flower girls reached the altar, Angela even rushed to Sage, eagerly asking, "How did | do?" Sage chuckled.
"You did great!" Emily thought it was wonderful that Angela had such a pure ---- soul, her innocence making it easy for Sage to accept her as a sister. As far as Emily could tell, Sage was doing her best to embrace her new blended family. The music faded, signaling the end of the entourage's march. Now, all eyes turned to the bride. The massive curtains at the far end of the vinyl tent swept open dramatically. Wisps of smoke from the machines blurred the view at first, and every guest craned their necks in eager anticipation, waiting for Soraya's grand entrance.
The music restarted, and a female lead vocalist sang to the tune of "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri. The moment Soraya appeared, Emily wept. Around her, Amanda's and Philip's eyes also watered. Soraya was the most beautiful bride they had ever seen. It wasn't only her flawless face, her exquisite gown, or the glittering diamonds adorning her ears and neck; it was the serene joy and contentment radiating from her, a light that made her truly glow. There was no doubt about it, Soraya was the happiest bride on earth.
