---- Chapter 110: The Vampire ~ Jacob ~ At Soraya's apartment. It was four a.m. Time for Jacob to get up. His phone had already lit up with Dante's call. He groaned, grabbed his mobile, and texted his bodyguard: [Be there in a few minutes.] He turned to Soraya's side and pulled her closer one last time. She instinctively nestled her face against his chest. It felt... so right. Jacob ran his fingers through Soraya's light brown hair. It was so soft, it almost slipped through his touch. He gently cupped her cheek next, his thumb brushing over her smooth skin.
She looked as if the sun had barely touched her, her face fresh and youthful. To him, she was beautiful in a way that made it hard to look away. He didn't want to leave, but thousands of employees depended on him. Still, he took his time. 'This woman is going to be the death of me; he sighed, knowing it grew harder to leave with every second. "Ara, | need to go,' he said softly. "Ara. Soraya?" "Hmmmm." She looked up, fluttering her eyes. "| need to get back to Belridge,' Jacob said. "This early?" she asked, squinting. Then she buried her face again in his chest. "CEOs can be late for work.
Fifteen minutes." ---- She hugged him tightly, her arms circling his waist. "You are, without a doubt, my undoing," he said, a comment that made her chuckle. They relished those fifteen minutes, wrapped in each other's arms. When Soraya let go, Jacob got off the bed and showered. After he changed into his business suit, Soraya was already up. She said, "I can wash your clothes." "Okay," he said. "I'll see you on Wednesday." "You are really going to come over?" Soraya asked, doubting his words. They hugged and kissed. Jacob said, "I'm just going to drop by and have dinner with you.
| might bring Angela." "Okay,' she said. "Don't force it, though, if it's tight on the schedule. Oh, and can you ask Le Céleste to send me a double lunch? | was hoping to cheer up Silas with a Michelin-starred dish." He paused, second-guessing. Soraya had admitted that Silas had confessed to her. Jacob wasn't comfortable with Silas, but she made it clear that Silas was a dear friend. "Sure," he agreed. "But just to be sure." Jacob approached her and studied her neck. He frowned because he hadn't left enough visible kiss marks. So, he indulged just a bit. "Jacob?

What are you-it's ticklish!" Soraya tried to push him away, but he held her tighter. With one hand around her neck, he managed a mark that would make it clear ---- who she belonged to. Soraya touched her neck, then she walked over to the mirror and stared in horror. "I can't believe you!" "Believe it. | am a very possessive man,' he said. "I have to go." Despite Soraya's grumpy face, he chuckled and kissed her cheek. "Bye." see ~ Soraya ~ Since Jacob had woken her up early, Soraya arrived at Aegis Core Systems at six in the morning. She practically opened the company.
But those two hours of being alone in the office gave her focus. Soraya had finally finished the NeuroSentinal 2.0 prototype. Now came the testing phase, the toughest part for any security software, where its strength and reliability would be pushed to the limit. She was actually on schedule, but there was always a chance that changes would be made after testing. At around eight in the morning, employees began to arrive. Soraya's phone also started buzzing. At 8:10, it was Edward Wright: [Soraya, I'm back in town. When will we meet?
Please.] At 8:30, it was Rohan: [Ready to talk about that chatbox. When are you free? Can we talk about it over dinner? It's a business dinner. Surely, that's allowed.] "A business dinner versus a friendly dinner. Wouldn't that ---- be the same?" Soraya muttered, referring to Rohan's text. She responded to them both, saying she was busy that week and that she was going on vacation the week after. She did not check her phone again after that. Instead, she had a meeting with her team of engineers. Silas had reported to the office.
At lunch, Soraya invited him to her office, where they had a luxurious meal. They had cheese puffs to start, a warm goat cheese salad as an entrée, Boeuf Bourguignon for the main dish, and Créme brilée for dessert. The manager of Le Céleste remained in Soraya's office, pouring wine and slowly serving the dishes as they finished. Silas munched on his beef as he muttered, "Is this even allowed?" "You are the CEO, so it's your call," Soraya said, chuckling. "And this is your way of compensating because you broke my heart?" Silas said, pointing his knife at her. Soraya laughed again.
She continued to eat her salad and shook her head. "Jacob made the call to double lunch delivery for you." "Oh." Silas scrunched his face. "So let me get this straight. Mr. Steel is basically saying, 'Yeah, | know you met Soraya first, Silas, but I'm the vampire that bit her neck. She's mine now. Don't feel bad-here, have an overpriced lunch to soften the blow." Soraya couldn't help but crack up. Even the restaurant manager, about to refill Silas' glass, laughed. ---- Pulling her collar up, Soraya tried to cover her hickey, but Silas said, "You are doing such a poor job at covering it.
Yeah, you put makeup on it, but it's only staining your collar." Soraya fell into another fit of laughter. "I don't have a scarf." "Well, since you are getting involved with a vampire, you might as well get one,' Silas said, shaking his head. By the time their meal was over, they were both full. The restaurant manager left, but not without preparing coffee for both of them. Once the two friends were alone in the office, Silas asked, "| just have one question, Soraya... Are you happy?
Genuinely happy?" Soraya sipped her coffee, looked up at Silas, drew ina deep breath, and replied, "I am, Silas. | am very happy. | still have fears, but | feel like Jacob and Angela are worth taking a risk for. I'm willing to give more to make this relationship work." Silas nodded. While he smiled, his eyes were teary. "Then I'm happy for you. Your happiness is more important than anything." "Thank you, Silas." Soraya returned his smile, tears brimming in her eyes. "You're a true friend, and I'll always cherish you.
One day, you'll meet someone, someone your heart beats for even more than it does for me. And when that day comes... I'll be right there, supporting you a hundred percent."
